wait.. that's not very hardcore..
No wait you hit a gold mine. Make mining like Guitar Hero and miners will never stop!

A lot of the OP suggestions seem to be nothing more than adding skills. Once the system of how skills are learned is understood, though, the overall game would be no riskier or harder or more hardcore than before.
There'd simply be more of a time sink.
One thing that'd be cool is if the agression timer for Concord were lengthened. If you ****ed them off you'd be facing a month of KOS from them instead of just a few minutes. So...you do something dumb in empire..get blown up..slip back into your clone...well, sorry 'bout your luck, pal. If you have no jump clone, you're ass ain't undocking.
That'd make it pretty hardcore for those claiming to be hardcore.
Adding ram damage would be pretty slick, too...so that large industrial ship with the AB on it and fully loaded with however much mass could suddenly turn on you instead of trying to flee...and ram you into the side of a gate at speed, probably killing himself as well as you. I think that'd be pretty hardcore as well.

Logging in takes 100 minutes, this can be reduced to 50% by a new electronics skill. --- Don't put your trust in revolutions. They always come around again. That's why they're called revolutions. People die, and nothing changes. |

Your sec status starts at 10 when you create a character and then can only decrease, nothing can raise it ever again. (ex. killing rats) -------------------------------------

you instantly explode as soon as you mine, in fact the roid shoots you somehow
Some roids are boobytrapped if you go mining in missions. :p

Space creatures. Seriously. I want to see something like the Tin Man floating in space and if it gets ticked off to fire off some sort of field weapon that makes me think twice about attacking again but if I kill it I would get something awsome.
Tactical enviroments. Give us things like giant nebulas that upon entering do things to your ship, IE increase sheild regen rate, kill sensor distance, cloak your ship from sensors, etc. IE things other then the star gate, station and planets to fight in and around.

Getting rid of alts will never happen.
1. Too many players play with second and third accounts. Not to mention trial accounts could and would be used to post in the place of current alts.
2. CCP wont do it. Surprisngly, there are many players who use alts other then to spy and post messages. You take away the second and third slot would force CCP to lower the price of a monthly sub to 5 dollars a month. This ironiclly would in turn encourage players to buy multiple accounts so your right back to where you started.

- If your ship flies through a planet or other object while warping, it explodes You'd have to make sure there is nothing in between you and the object you're warping to.

110% agree, but how would this be enforced? This game would be better without alts, but I don't see it ever happening.

Remove asteroid respawn Replace WTZ with WT100km
there would be no game left then. think you went a bit far
Well, permanent death probably yeah...unfortunately adding back WTZ would just mean millions of insta BMs. Apparently CCP toyed with the idea of a closed economy (no asteroid respawn) during the early stages of EVE, but I guess they rejected it (I have no idea how that would work...would we all just end up in frigates?)
I don't see anything wrong with no insurance (maybe you could give something to <1month old chars/accounts, but thats it).

I would make combat more dangerous and interesting by introducing weapon arcs, specific systems damage (as structure is damaged, specific systems may go down and must be repaired), advanced damage control, armor banks that only absorb damage from the direction they're mounted, etc. Possibly also multiple shield facings-- four shields instead of just one.
As is, damage is pretty boring. You're just watching three hit point counters.
Another idea is a damage control mini-game-- when systems are down, you can bring up a chart of your ship, and have to solve some kind of puzzle to bring it back online. This might also require you to have the right materials and/or skills to do the emergency repairs.

Remove the current seperate chat windows (local/corp etc) and have one window with chat indicated via text color. People in local are revealed by doing a '/whois' or similar command. Local intel would therefore only be available to people actively seeking it.

We are talking about gameplay not holding a shareholders meeting
also bring back warp to 15, boot any player that is older than 3 months into their own player corp

Remove bubbles - choke points are too easily camped.
Move trial accounts to their own isolated constelation (no access to any paying customer chat), when they pay, they jump out into the real game.
Freighters should have medium guns + tank.
No WCS.
No ECM multi.

Another idea: subsystems targeting. Introduce ship subsystems into the game, and have a mini-game in which players can manually target those subsystems.
This would help satisfy players who wish you could use a joystick and deadfire in this game, without ruining the game for those who like it the way it is.
