Some missions have faction loot in the bonus room. The 'extravaganza' missions is a good example. I got a 80mil faction loot one time on gurista extravaganza, and it was in high sec.

Dev have stated more than once that the blockade has a chance of a faction spawn, never seen it.
World collide can have a overseer that can drop faction items. Key words are can ant then again can. The only overseer I have seen there dropped a faction tag and no other item.

Yes you can, a few times ive had a shadow serp battleship in worlds colide lvl4, also loot wernt that bad shadow serp warp scram and 3 run shadow warp disruption battery bpc. Not bad for a 0.8 system i guess

Don't expect to see them in missions, but you can find faction spawns in high and low sec as well as null sec.
The limitation of faction spawns in high and low sec is the size of rats that you will find.
High sec only spawns frigates. Low sec can spawn up to battlecruisers, but more often it is limited to cruisers.
The size the the ships will limit the bounty and loot that you get from them.
So for the best stuff you will want to hunt battleships in null sec.

Even still, I have seen more low sec faction spawns than null sec faction spawns, but I figure that has more to do with where I play than where they spawn.

I've been playing long enough to acquire about 32 mil SPs (not sure how long that is, year and some months I think) of which 99.9% has been in high sec, mostly mission running. Yeah, I'm an Empire carebear, deal with it :p
In that time I have acquired a few faction drops. Some of the random spawns can drop faction ammo (e.g. dread guristas ships), but I have had a few actual mods as well. I have noticed that the ones I have had (three total, only one I can remember offhand is a blood raider EM armor hardener) came from storyline missions.

i got a high grade snake alpha from the overseer/faction spawn in the second room of worlds collide. so yes it is possible.

In reality it is possible in 2 ways:
1) The Blockade (at least the Devs say so) has different spawns between which the enemy is chooses and there is a possibility of an actual faction spawn. The chance increase in low sec.
2) once I had a serpentis faction spawn appear in a mission I had competed and that I was mining, so if there is a possibility of a faction spawn in the belts they can spawn in the mission too, as sometime happens. As the mission was against guristas it was pretty evident the spawn wasn't part of the mission.
The other chances are of special enemies that drop faction items (Ulen Bloodsworn in a level 3 storyline mission against Bloodraider today dropped a Dark blood energized explosive resist) but those are not true faction spawn.

I have had a shadow serpentis battle ship show up in the level 4 blockade mission. It dropped some kind of passive shadow serp hardener that sold for about 2 million. Cant remember the exact item unfortunately.

I had an actual faction spawn in a level 1 just after the pirate implants were put it. I was a happy after that... 
Recently though, the only chance of faction loot for me has been Worlds Collide and Guristas Extravaganza. |

I've had an overseer spawn in worlds collide that dropped a TS armor module before, not sure if thats common or not :o

I got two faction spawns in high-sec Level 3 missions last June. I got a Domination Shield Boost Amplifier and a Domination Stasis Webifier. Since then, I picked up a Domination Adaptive Nano Membrane in a high sec AE Level IV. So, it does happen, albeit rarely.

I recently had a 4.875 million bounty Sansha Overseer spawn in Worlds Collide level 4 in highsec, and he dropped a True Sansha Control Tower Blueprint (sold for 150 million) and a TS Large EM Smartbomb. But I've had around 10 respawns in WC missions, and this has only happened once. Usually they're ordinary overseers.

in 2 years of mission running ive seen 3. 1 dropped non ammo tag ..was fun.
2 were in a L3 i forget the name of..the other was worlds collide.

I've had similar experiences with world collide level 4, first time I ran it a shadow serpentis overseer spawned worth abut 4 mil or so and dropped a few shadow serpentis armor hardeners. Every time I've run the mission since then, I get the overseer, but it's only worth around 500k and hasn't dropped anything. I've also gotten a low-grade snake epsilon implant from a frigate spawn in low-sec, and seen a few others that just dropped faction ammo.

Christmas Day the first Month I was playing I got a faction spawn in l1 blockade against gurristas, faction invlun FTW.
I've seen two serp faction BS's in WC l4.

Level 3 Vs Blood mission has the chance to spawn a Dark Blood cruiser. Got 3 Dark Blood goodies. Was in region with Bloods at the time, in a .6, cant remember which mission it was.
Had a Shadow Serp cruiser appear while doing Blockade in Sansha space. Only dropped a tag.
99% of people will read this thinking it's part of my post, when its actually my sig :P

did the angel/blood one a few times recently, had the overseer in the angels side drop nothing each time 
and dont think the serpentis/gurista one has dropped anything good for me. rachen masuna dropped a 425mm prototype railgun, think thats one of my best mission drops, oh and a few arby heavy launchers

When i get WC i generally do both gates to check for overseers, 90% of time they show up its a ~480k overseer that doesnt drop anything but a few times its been a 4.8mil overseer that has a good chance of dropping a few faction items.
Pity each time its been serpentis armor hardeners that sell for about 2mil, although a 4.8mil bounty rat is nice on its own.

Biggest money maker I've been seeing for faction drops is Guristas Extravaganza Lev 4. I run lev 4s for both Caldari and Amarr.
Examples of loot Ive gotten: DG Invuln Field (350m), DG 425mm Rail Gun (45M), DG Explosion hardner(20m), DG Magnetic Scattering Amplifier (5-10m).
AE had some nice loot but I guess the mission has been either removed from game or at least from the areas I run missions in.From AE ive received Domi webifier, Domi large armor repper, and couple hardners.

Once doing 'Blockade lvl 4 (Angels)' in Heimatar region I had a Domination bs spawn. Was very weird, and he didn't drop anything exactly usefull. So it's possible, but very very scarce..

I once had my tempest blown up doing worlds collide, I cancelled the mission and went back in to pick up the loot and salvage what I could, and I found a named implant worth 350mil isk - I Can't honestly remember which one, but it was an officer one.

played for nearly 2 years now just about all in empire space.
seen a few faction ships in that time. my personal best was one evening mining in an osprey when i drew 3 faction frigates over the course of the evening. never noticed two of them being faction till i was cleaning up the wrecks. got nothing interesting of course.
next best was piddling about again mining in an osprey when i drew two hauler encounters in 20 minutes. the only two hauler encounters i've ever seen.

Chances I know of faction loot on missions:
1. Worlds Collide 4 - overseers with 4mil bounty
2. Covering Your Tracks 4 - main boss
3. The Blockade (all levels) - occasional rare spawn
4. Guristas Extravaganza - bonus room structure
5. A Force to be Reckoned with 3 - main boss

I got a Low-Grade Snake Omega (400-500 mill) from a L3 blockade in 1.0 space once. Other than that, never seen a faction spawn in a mission. They are certainly much rarer than in belts. |

Got a DG large 250mm Rail from GE bonus room and a DG Photon Scattering Field from Boss on Covering your tracks....however best drop i ever had was from a DG frigate in a roid belt in Tsugawa was mining in a badger back when i was a noobie popped it and it dropped a DG Invul field, sold it for 325 mill

with me playing for almost 4 years...my corpies have told me i had been a lucky man,i used to get high sec faction spawns alot,before they change stuff in the game.i once had a lvl 4 mordus headhunters that spawned a mordus fleet commander 5mill bounty.u can still get overseer spawns in WC on both sides of the mission but sometimes you may have to wait alittle longer for them to appear

I dropped a clanger on an Angel L4 once, warped out into a roid belt and landed on a Shadow Serp Frigate, dropped some Faction Ammo and a low grade Slave (or Snake cant remember which) Delta. Not a bad result for getting my ass handed to me
