Well duh. Everyone wants a shiney Jove alt with Jove ships to fly you ninny.
I have 1 alt, I would probably have another but I want to keep the second slot open in case the Jove ever become playable. |

Eve has only had a year or so of life left in it for about five years now.
Despite that, it still seems to be growing steadily. |

Eve will last as long as: 1. CCP support it and continually endorse / upgrade it *freely* and 2. As long as new expansions are imaginative and bring somethign to the game enviroment and players. If they continue with things like ambulations and planetary warfare in the near future and bulk that out I dont see why eve doesnt have atleast another 5+ years on it. The next step is to bring in more players and expand the galaxy so thats its less of one large market and more of a regional market. Also they should include space above and below the plane of the galaxy as well as jove adding new ores and specific items to drive the economy. *takes a breath* [/url] |

My guess is this game has pretty long life ahead. CCP is keeping the servers at approximatly 40K and it does not look like they are going to increase it anytime soon.
Also since it is so unique there's nothing else to compare it to besides the general MMO type. So people who want to play a full intricate space game, this is it.

The only problem that i see in eve is the new playerbase, most of "good" new players end up buying "old" characters due to the fact actually take a crapload of time for becoming "good"
I think this is the "good" and "bad" a same time of eve.. our characters will never end up growing and newcomers will be "years" ahead of others in true terms of fact, this is good beacause there is not an "end" but at same time is a pretty big problem for newcomers :)
When you enter game, join a corp, talk with ur ceo and he say "hello you have 1.2m sp i got 75m, will take you 5 years for reaching me ^^" the noob get a bit scared :)
That's not a problem for me beign playing from begin of 2004 but well, for others is :) _________________________________________________

I do not agree with the skill point whine.... well not for the main part anyway.
Im world of warcraft for example... if a level 70 toon fights a lvl 10 toon, he cant loose. simple as that. Im eve it is not so simple. if your 2003 toon is flying around in his inty and some 1 month old nOOb in a vexor gets a web on you... you are more than likely going to die to the sound of 'lol' from your corpmates. Eve is so complex that your skill points can only take you so far. Its your own cunning, savvy, and wit that get you places in eve.

EVE has the potential to easily go on forever. There's so many things which haven't been tapped into yet that it's ludicrous. What if the EVE gate reopened? What if we could land on planets? Hell, what would happen if we could walk on stations!? [Yay for ambulation!]
There's a lot of potential left in EVE yet. Don't let a few whiners on the forums delude anyone into thinking it hasn't |

I'm going to leave room for the faint possibillity of some horrible change that destroys the concept of EVE entirely however unlikely. Barring that i'm the same. Also I don't get why the op thinks the devs have ****ed many people off lately. They've done some GREAT work. Considering the population was about a third what it is now 3 years ago and many times more then when it started I don't expect EVE to die any time in the next decade. Especially if they periodically update the graphics like they did with trinity.
They have already done that many times, people have said that, but have carried on playing.
BS weapons not hitting small targets (the "tomb" nerf) No torp/cms in Med launhcers Conq stations Stacking changes Sheild nerf Drone nerf ECM nerf T2 Items Warp to 0 POS deployment Capital ships Titan seeding Cyno Doomdays Jumpbridges End of BPO lottery Jump freighters Removing of shuttles from NPC stations, (so its now rookie ship - Shuttle - Ship I just brought :S)
This list changes for diffrent people and at each one i thought thats it eves ruined. I was right, it was ruined, the old way was. Then you get to play the new eve and it starts all over again :P
basicly you can never leave eve.

Any good thought out MMO can last indefinitely.
Well put. I agree.
WoW will self-destruct before EvE, because it is too linear, too grind-orientated, and too driven by end-game. It is already getting too difficult for players above mid-level in Warcraft to find a niche. You either join raid guilds and kiss goodbye to your life, or cancel your subscription.
EvE wont go this way. It is a sandbox game that has thousands of facets within which players can find their niche. |

Eve doenst work like that, a 3mill char can kill a 100mill if the situations right.
also, once you reach about 15mill in PvP skills that like a years worth of linked training, you can fight almost anyone with an even chance.
Hac/t2 med guns/ t2 mid drones = kill anyone no matter what sp they have if your in the right situation.

ill be so sad to see eve go,
it has the strongest of most communities and is a very unique game, of which no other mmo out there has giving me that expereince for 2 years, where this game never followed the norm and always set to expand the horizions of which no other mmo has come close to it
the day the close the server down i will probably actually visit jita for the first time and say my good byes or grab a velator and mine with chribba.
gosh that will be a sad day |

It was from an episode of the old show Millennium where these cultists had holed up there to be safe on the Mayan end times date. Something about that part of Idaho would be relatively safe
