Edited by: Serge Tahlon on 23/04/2004 09:57:01 in the bigger scheme of things you lost this guy 3 hours of traveling new ships up there. hahahaha you really think that matters ?

Yeah, but the Bistot went pop that was in the Bestowers. And as we where attacking Dreamscape at the time every little bit helps.
It was nice getting the insurance money from the three Vexors though

that last bookmarked place will be pretty much impossible to find.
Actually no, in reality it would be rather simple to find once you have gotten it on your scanner, sure it will take a few hours to pinpoint the location but if there is somthing jucy at the center it will be worth it.

I was playing with my interceptor and ran out of cap in mid warp and landed in someones mid warp spot.
I was 5k from the cans. What are the chances of that happening?
Very good in reality, considering the warp spot was most probably created in the same way you made it the chance is alot better then one might think.
Also some warps host numerous warp spots along it making a landing within view of one of them close to a probability, people are after all lazy.
The only high ods thing was landing within 5km but I have that down to luck :)
Kynoch:
Most of my safespots are easy to find, or in reality my cargo dumps, Im not all that interested in spending time setting them up so I just place them after a few between planets points.
I am perfectly aware that they will be found within an hour by any determined good safespot hunter but then again the hunter will only find a few password locked secure cans and nothing else.
Today most of the dumps I have (those that still are out there) hold mainly spare ammo, a few may contain some loot or a few hundred bistot, in short nothing I cant loose with a shrug.
My hidingpoints however are impossible to trace if Im not hiding there, as far as I know there is no way to track down an unocupied nowhere bookmark, it is at such I hide and at such I log off.
If I ever tried leaving a ship in space again I would however take the time to create an untracable-ish safespot as there is realy no point in loosing ones ship to stupidity :)

lmao well - now its out... It was a lot of fun. Dreamscape camped a gate for about 3 hours, while we flew around and hit their safe points.
For me - it sends a clear message... In this war, we will take you in or out of your ships.

We are hired Mercenaries, we've a job to do .
And as for the Terrorists thing, i know the importance of such tactics and how it can distabilise command and control.

Edited by: Celebon on 23/04/2004 10:49:05 If i remember right, before the MWD changes, I managed to get to within 620km of a m0o deadspace in a2 using only the scanner. I cannie exactly mind as it was a while back, but they were about 3-5 Au from the kaira gate in a2 and Lord Zap had dropped a large secure can (presumably filled with ammo). Admitadly it took me 3 or so hours to get to them but they popped the unsecured can before i could get any better a lock. *chuckles* I used the directional scanner and add bookmark to get within about 0.1 Au then mwd'd towards them. Took a long time as i was not on the same allignemnt from gate to planet as they were so i was mwding at an angle from the gate line and had to use 15 degree scans to nail down the position. Ach well, it passed the time. As the hitchhikers guide to the galaxy says, space is really big and really empty.

Turn your scanners on in PF-346, lots of ships out there even when nobody is in local. Sounds like a treasure hunt to me.

The only gate camping being done here is by SAS, not to mention station camping. I find it quite hilarious that you're too scared to post with your main character, and you can't even fight a ship unless it has no pilot.. that's rich. You should be too embarrassed to admit this, let alone post it for everyone to read :)

Brep, haven't even seen you ingame. First time i've ever heard of you
Since Dreamscape have moved out of Empire space because of our actions we have had to start hunting yas down in Outer Ring region. we are currently researching into the area in terms of numbers and ships movement. With our numbers being few and there being a whole Alliance up in that region it is a fools choice to go up there in a BS.
So for the time being we are testing the water and trying to cause any disruption we can in our lil frigates. So far we have only done this over two days and according to our spies we get yas a lil freaked out when we are around
All in all, for our numbers we are doing pretty darn well imho

Brep - Thanks for the feedback - any insight - no matter how limited helps.
Also, IÆm compiling a Panini sticker album of Dreamscape members. You know how it is, sometimes you get the same corpse over and over again.
I must be over half way to completing it and IÆm keen to conclude my work. Do me a favour and give me a shout when you're next on-line û Your sorry ass will help me finish the section on Dreamscape Muppetsà

Thats why you hide in 0.0 and i know that Your Ceo and another dreamscape pilot was "camping" the gates which you claim you dont do while we hunted these ships down. We just enjoy the game for Fun and dont take it so seriously as you do. So i belive you need to stfu. You co-Ceo told us to come down there and so we did. Have fun and hope to see you soon.
Any bookmark and be found if you wish to spend the time to find it - or you just use spies.
So far SAS found 3vexor's,4 Bestowers,1 celest-thingy,1 griffen of scapes at safe points.

Originally by: Bella Verde Safespots are rediculous, it makes it very hard to have a decent fight.
If you don't want your victims to fly away then warp scramble them. Running away is perfectly valid combat behaviour. Don't blame Eve just because you can't tie your victims down long enough to finish the job. -- (Battle hardened miner)

Lo Gretau!
Thnx man, your ships where pretty hard to find but we got em. I feel bad for taking them from you because you've accepted so graciously. It's always easier if the person in question flames the hell out of ya!
Cya about man and good luck in whatever you are doing.

Its all a matter of knowing how the scanner works, Im no master of the directional scanner but I have managed to just for the fun of it get within 20000-30000km of such points in space by trying to align the object I want to go to against a planet or moon.
As I dont usually have 2-3 MWD's fitted and as there were only secure cans at the center I decided it wasnt worth getting closer but that was done in about 2-3hrs.
Now I can not be sure that the Cans were dumped in the way described earlier but I do know they were not dumped along the line I started from.

Originally by: Mark A What about solar system BMs? They're typically well outside scanner range from the outer planet, being at least 200AU or so from the sun. Indeed I have a freak one that's 3000AU out and takes 15 mins to warp to - I'm thinking that's pretty safe ;).
The quickest way to make a solarsystem BM is to open the F11 map and right click the current system in the constellation pane and choose Keep Location.
BTW scanner range is (2^31)-1 or about 2 billion km, 1AU~=149M km, so max scan is just over 14 AUs.
Solar system BMs are considered as exploit by the devs, you will get banned for it. I even have a screeny, if you don't believe it and have webspace you could host it. If people warp to a safe spot, the first direction I use to warp is the solar system BMs, since it's always the same direction. I then warp, turn on fraps, and scan.
Well, I'd like to have safespots removed entirely from the game - pursuits from moon to moon are much more challenging and exciting than warping to safespots and logging out anyway.
