Anyone cares to write a comprehensive FAQ on titan ? As in skills, usage, capabilities etc.
I'm sure it could be nice document to share and exchange thoughts and will be very interesting for eve comunity to actualy read about this marvelous peace of "engineering thought" !

Not really.
If you don't know how to fly a Titan, you have no business doing so.
And if you do know how to fly a titan, why would you want to share with the competition? -- Crane needs more grid 249km locking? |

Yepp your best bet would be too actually be inside a large alliance that have Titan pilots and ask them once you can fly one. A tips is, think Carrier skills but push most of them too level 5 instead and figure out the rest yourself :) check the attributes of a Titan and see what might be useful. The people who fly Titans rarely talk about how they fly them. That would be giving out intel and secrets to their enemies. Why should they anyway? They spent all that time training and figuring it out, so they want to keep as much of an advantage as possible. Quite frankly, there is no need for such a document to exist in the first place. Anyone flying a Titan who is actually capable of flying it should have enough experience after their 3 or 4 years of skill training to be able to figure it out for themselves. For everyone else it really makes very little difference.

I'll translate the previous responses for you: We don't know, but we're going to belittle you in the forums because that's how we inflate our own little egos.
To the OP: I'm not aware of any decent write-up on titans. This is your chance to create a white-paper on the subject. CCP does an absolute ****-poor job of documenting features and game mechanics. There is quite a bit of info on these forums....you just have to dig for it. Google is your friend.
Cheers.

nope, thats wrong. everybody on the "receiving end" would have use for any information they can get. hence the intel argument a bit higher up in the thread.
which is in fact the only thing that makes sense.
so ill try to be constructive and tell the op what i know about titans: theyre big and can pew pew everything on grid at once.

I don't think anyone who posted above flies a Titan or are trying to be ****s. Its just a fact that the few players that can have no interest in sharing information.
Working out what skills you need is fairly easy on Evemon, just add all the skills for all equipment if would have, then plan them all to 5, and plan all support skills to 5. There you go, a plan that will take years and years to complete and to build it will take the resources of a large alliance.

Exactly this. To have any need of the information you have to either be likely to ever fly one or be likely to FC fleet ops against one. In both cases you most likely allready know what you need to know, or at the least, can easily get the information within your alliance.
It's not trying to be "better" than anyone. Just a simple fact. I don't have any real use for in-depth knowledge about Titans either.

Exactly, I have no idea why they have capital weapons bonuses, I'm sure most pilots would rather smartbomb or cloaking bonus...

The Optimization II's cost quite a bit, but I think they're well worth it. The cargobay is almost 427,000m3, so you should be able to mine for about 8-10 hours before dropping it off at a POS. 563 m3/minute before gang bonuses. Ogres and Siege launchers do abou 450 DPS, enough to take care of any pesky rats, and you can perma-run your shield tank which tanks 638 omni DPS, or you can switch to rat specific if you like.

You're flying tens of billions of ISK, and you're worried about the price of a couple of rigs?
If there ever was a ship class that should have ALL the best faction/officer modules available, Titans are it.
As for flying one of these things, the only advice I can give is this: Never use the handbrake. |

I'd go for the Erebus since it's cargo is bigger, or Avatar by its looks. Still undecided which one I should get though, might have to end up with both just to have the ability to chose.
