It is time for all you bloodthirsty lot to come to Mamet and shut it down. It is teaming with mindless isk-farmers, who are protected by CVA and others that fly under the Anti-Pirate flag.
One freedom fighter is not enough to liberate these poor farmers from the clutches of their feudal boss, and CVA just reeks of corruption when I see 4 mammoths undock around the blob waiting to camp me into a station. I need more help to clean up this system.
Eve-mails of warning are welcome! I won't gang you, but I will respect your space if you respect mine.
I say make these slavelords pay.
There's no money involved just lots and lots of hauler kills...I've gotten close to 100 in the past few weeks.
Bit of Intel: They use moon 10 Imperial Arms Station 75%. Other 25% they are in moon 7 station. CVA and others mostly frequent Zoar and Sons Station. Most are in mammoths and bestowers(which pop real fast). 50% are stabbed.
Haulers come through Biphi quite regularly as well as Valmu. Both are traffic zones to highsec and are quite easy to camp.
Good luck, I hope to see a few more flashies in there besides me. Its fun being chased by gobs of blobs and baitships and whatnot, but its time to put the hurt on. |

I ninja'd so much salvage from the Chinese guys in Lustrevik that they finally started to open private convo's with me. Their English was bad, but I speak and write some Chinese. It was an interesting convo though I'm not sure I quite understood what they were saying. I just said something about how I was 'sightseeing' in their missions and said goodbye before they typed too many more characters I couldn't read. |

The farmers in the low sec my alliance pirates started talking to us one day. It was pretty disconcerting. The macros just started speaking up and there were about five or six of them all told.
We almost felt bad about shooting them. Almost. It wore off. It was universally decided we didn't like such an emotion and so guilt was voted out and the guns started chattering again.
Later one mentioned something about their negotiator getting fired or something.
I guess its back to the rice paddy.

...much more ? If we brought more numbers than their alliance fleet & other amarrian loyalist allies combined , they'd still have the coalition to defend their turf.
Maybe you could convince BoB that killing farmers in Mamet is a priority. Yeah , that's going to work

Props to you Cole you are a sneaky bugger. I've almost had you a few times and you keep getting away. :)
I agree with you that mamet is bad.. When i watch the station from your 325km safe spot i see 4-5 NPC corp haulers undock at once using macro software so you aren't wrong. Keep killing them and I'll keep laughing. Its fun to login and see 3-4 new corpses each day on scanner.
However since you shot up a comple IACers - I'll have to keep gunning for you even tho I applaud your macro killing efforts. Maybe one day you'll slip up and I'll manage to take down your crusader or nanophoon... I'll promise I'll keep tryin! o7

You know, it's sad to see how bored "tough" pirates are to attack haulers. LOL. Pretty pathetic. I know miners are the bane of pvp players. The reason is because most pvp players hate mining. Myself included. But why grief them? And they are needed. But hey, we see alot of sissy pirates too scared to attack real ships can fight. So they attack easy prey. Which brings me back to my point a while back. Those pirates are cowards. I have fought pirates I can respect as good pvpers. But the ones who want to attack miners and haulers all day just to grief them just proves their cowardice. I would say to toughen up, but that would be laughable since they continue to prove their weakness.

128th=CEO facepalms himself... Ill have a chat with em, I think he missed the part where it was about macros...
Mamet does have alot of macros flying through, but claiming CVA has anything to profit from it is ridiculous. As was said in other threads, the only reason they do not get shot up is because it's an NRDS region and to avoid people going on macro killing spree's and in the process blowing up actual players. (possible hauler alts etc)
There have been proven macro corps been set red before in the area, but most of the hauler macros are in NPC corps.
I think it is not the responsibility of the playerbase (or CVA for that matter) to take care of the macro problem. It's the responsibility of CCP to take care of it. Offcourse we can help them a hand and I think the most efficient way is to petition the macros.

I understand the issues with macrominers. Sure they suck, but the problem with going into a system and killing miners is that not all are macrominers. Sure, some are obvious. Others not as much. But killing all the miners just to kill "macro" miners is a smokescreen for some weak "pirate" to get help because he sucks so bad he can't do it himself. And because he likes to grief real miners. I laugh because whenever someone says "macro miner" people start freaking out and kill tham all. Yes, I agree with the OP on the problem with macro mining. Yes, it is wrong. But by his standards who isn't one?

Let me say it again, in case anyone missed it.
CVA actively, knowingly and willingly protects what are obviously isk farmers by attacking people that are attacking those isk farmers, regardless of whether they are just generally pirating or only selectively attacking the farmers and by forbidding their own members and allies from attacking those isk farmers.
You can blow all the roleplay, antipirate crap out your rear end. I consider CVA's behavior on this matter to be disgusting.

Phht.. just being red is good enough to get a horde of salivating PvPers out to chase you, you don't have to shoot anything macro or not. Quite frankly we're a little bit too good at the anti-pirate thing and there are a lot of bored pilots looking for something to shoot.
That we end up protecting macro haulers is incidental. Occasionally there are efforts made to clear them out. CVA tried once ages ago. More recently Sani Sabik and Tri have both made their own dents in the macro population. The conclusion is always the same: it's a waste of time, ammo and sec status. Petitions have a much greater effect.. and yes, they do eventually work. When you live in the area you get familiar with some of the names and then one day they just disappear and never re-appear.
Also whenever a friendly decides to try and clear out the macro hauler population they inevitably end up targeting a real player and blowing them up. I suppose someone in NBSI would just say tough luck, but we live in a NRDS region of space where we actively try to encourage neutral to come and make a living. Many do. Blowing them up on some futile quest to 'end the macro hauler menace' is unacceptable.

I usually spend most of my time down and around Mamet, and I have to agree; it's a cesspool of newbcorp macrohaulers. I made it my job to clean it up (and I'm no pirate by any means) and it came to an abrupt end when CVA waved the "KOS" flag in my face :(
Roleplay or not, it's a disgusting behaviour to protect those who cheat their way thru the game and violate the EULA. CVA even has it in their rules that no pilot in CVA-controlled space (which currently includes the low sec systems around Mamet) may break the EULA. But what do they do about it? Nothing. Except blowing up the people that keep space clean of such vermin. It sucks. Big time, but I'm not interested in getting a huge "KOS" flag on my ass, so I'm not gonna help clean it up.
I only hope CVA gets off their fat asses and see what's going on under their very noses. The excuse "they might just be player alts" doesn't work. Try watching one for half an hour. Runs courier missions like there's no tomorrow, never replies to convos, has no bio, has PERFECT standings with amarr empire, yet a security status of 0.0 and have never left their corp. Hello? Wake up and smell the macro.

So you think the CVA and allies should be enforcing the EULA now? The CVA made a decision a while ago, and I think it's the right one, that they leave that up to CCP.
If you've spent that much time analyzing one of the macro haulers, then why haven't you petitioned them? It'll have a far greater effect than shooting dime a dozen haulers.
With Trinity 1.1 CCP got a whole bunch of new tools and directly after the patch the local macro population decreased very dramatically. It's slowly crawling back up again, but I believe CCP are doing what they can to stop ISK sellers.
Frankly if you really want to help the problem, track down the ISK buyers and pod them right out of the game. If there was no demand for illegal isk for cash, these farmers would disappear from the game. --- Honest officer, the dwarf was on fire when I got here! Can't find a mechanical engineering agent? Pirates are always welcome to come to Mamet (actually, Kheram is a rockin' place to get these haulers). CVA fights pirates. Period. That's what we do to play the game. The biproduct of our activity is gravitation of macroiskers to our space. The biproduct of people who pirate to play the game is potential loss of CCP customers (indeed there are pirates in this very forum who are proud of the prospect of forcing players away from the game. Referrence any "why I play the game" type thread.)
Both can be nicely argued as damaging to the game...but both are biproducts of completely valid playstyles.
Come to CVA space for pirating (plenty of it to be had...tons of missions runners, legit and otherwise) or come to CVA space to fight the CVA. You're more than welcome to; conflict is healthy for the game and fun for any pvper. But this "CVA are corrupt and directly and purposefully protect and profit from isk farmers" is just silliness.

That would be exactly what I meant with my post. Actually enforcing the EULA feels silly. But killing those that try to clear up space from macroers is, in effect, protecting the macroers, thus the EULA breakers.

I've always been a bit confused about why CVA doesn't just outlaw noob corps from the area & post warnings to that effect. Then the super super obvious macro corps could be set red or just their names posted as fair game in those systems so groups who want to kill them could have at it.

Edited by: Niding on 10/05/2008 11:28:53 Just to add to what Garreck said;
Before I joined CVA I was part of an anti macro channel in empire/low sec, and flew around looking for them etc. Killed a few, but didnt seem to make much of a dent.
Then I joined CVA, and they were as concerned with the problem as everyone else. We tried to curb the macro problem by shooting them and allow our citizens to do the same.
Result: People on several gates, shooting anything resembling a hauler, macro or not. Not before long, legit neutrals were shooting eachother and quarrels ensued. Eventually we had to face up to the fact that running NRDS and allowing free for all shooting of neutral haulers would eventually spiral out of control, so we prohibited it.
If you argue that NRDS has the negative bieffect of a increased macrotraffic, I wont argue against it, because its true. On the flipside, NRDS also increases the volume of legit neutral traffic and giving ppl that might not have ventured into low sec/0.0 a taste of such without having to be overly worried about being blown up.
NBSI has the effect of keeping macro population down, no argument there, but it also keeps legit neutral traffic volume down.
Both policies has its pros and cons. CVA has chosen NRDS, and to let CCP handle the negative consequences of that/macros. Its not a perfect world/solution, but the best we can do.
NRDS with open season on macroers just wont work. |

Yes, a bigger ship that can tank the sentries. HIC, BC Battleship or Command ship. If you can Snipe outside of 150k that can work too. MAybe a friend to bump and you sniping? The only places the macros go are to stations and gates, so thats where you need to get them.

So are folks who think CVA profits from macroers just because we hunt pirates. That's backwards in every sense: The macroers profit because CVA hunts pirates. The volume of macroers is simply a side-effect of our playstyle. It sucks, but it is what it is.
If CVA targetted macroers, we wouldn't be talking about how CVA supports macroers; we'd be talking about how CVA are hypocrites about hunting pirates, about defending neutrals, and all that other good stuff that CVA tends to be quite vocal about.
Someone's going to complain. I suppose we'd rather someone complain because they don't like our style than complain because we are hypocrites.

One way to look at it: In RL the macroers could be working in a sweatshop, or part of some low level crime syndicate(bear with me)
If they are workers in a sweatshop, wouldnt that make their boss a bad guy? The boss never shows his face so killing the macroers hurts him at the knees. Take this into a RP perspective and these macroers become people working against their will and the only way to shut the business down is to kill their boss's profits. You can twist it however you like, in the end they explode, just like anybody else.

So basically, you are more concerned with your RP ideals than the well being of Eve.
From the RMT dev blog:
Quote: There are also the macro miners and mission runners, complex farmers and assorted rabble of this sort that causes general nuisance and keeps the regular players from being able to enjoy EVE as they would like. Price of minerals, ore, ice, implants and so on is driven down by this kind of activity and thus ways for normal players to make ISK are effectively ruined.
So you can either directly aid the macros, save their ships, and allow them to continue to ruin the game for normal players, OR you could actually do everyone a great service, by destroying them. You choose the first option to avoid being called hypocrites? Only an idiot would call you a hypocrite for destroying macros.
Bah, no sense in trying to understand your logic.

The real issue is, none of these "crusaders for justice" are actually killing 100% macro miners. They kill some neutrals, alts, friends or allies of CVA and the other Providence holders. Someone gives their name out in Citadel and they get hunted down.
Macro farmers aren't in the intel channel calling out targets in Mamet, its just not happening. But you guys are shooting anything that moves and any target you can get your hands on. But this is CVA's fault?
If I was CVA I would have dissallowed npc corps in Providence, but I'm not CVA & they've lived there much longer then I have. This whole thread is a poorly disguised whine that another bunch of pirates can't get their easy kill fix quite as easily.

Yes. As a paying customer, my approach to Eve is appropriately selfish. I play to have fun in a fictional world, not play referee. The well being of Eve is CCP's responsibility as far as I'm concerned.
Interestingly enough, if macro-hunters come to lower Domain to exclusively kill macroers...then CVA will never hear about it. The issue is that full-out pirates tend to take up this task, and they shoot anything and anyone. And then CVA shows up based on reports in an intel channel. Then the pirate(s) is/are dispached or chased off. Then the pirate(s) in question run(s) to the forums and cries that CVA is protecting macroers.
There's not really much logic to understand, beyond "it's not our responsibility to police the game." We choose not to hunt macroers. Folks are welcome to choose to dislike us for that, because, as I've already implied, folks are gonna choose to dislike us for one reason or another...particularly pirates.
*edit* Looks like Ambtuehr beat me to my main point...

Were cva/friends to set noobcorps red, then you would both make life harder for the noob corp macroers, and encourage everyone to be in a corporation, which makes people who in your eyes (RP-wise) 'legitimately' hunt macroers by war-deccing them have a much more atainable goal.
CVA obviously enjoys dropping 20 man gangs on solo/small gang pirates, though.
One, I wish CCP would put all of 2 hours of thought into fixing this so lowsec hauling missions weren't so fukken imbalanced. It's really not that hard to discourage it, but CCP's staff is obviously both lazy and incompetent.
And two, CVA could stop complaining that "they can't do anything about the macroers without giving up their RP angle." I'm sorry but that's not the case.
