I've been ninja a few times. Manage to get in and get out before the guy gets back or shuts down the mission. One player was even nice enough to leave the entire mission in a can in the last room for me so I left him a thank you note before he got back. I also aptly named my ship Search Warrant.

Collecting the salvage is no more or less honorable than shooting the red crosses in the first place.

I'm very fond of Amamake's resident ninja salvagers Spiderslayer and olega (or whatever). They are very PRO - warping in at range, staying aligned, fitting all lows with stabs, flying frigs and destroyers, and attempting to smack in local. Whenever there are unsalvaged or unlooted wrecks on scan, there they are.
As annoying as they can be at times, I will admit that chasing them has entertained me many times when things were slow. Using dual scram rfiters and dual scram rocket bombers to cathc them always prove to be a good way to pass the time. Props to them for trying to hard for such small rewards.
