how ccp can ignore reimbursing a person that has had this happen i cant understand, but i too would leave the game if this happened to me.
ther are 2 passwords for each EVE account, the password and the login name, both are so important that neither should ever be divulged,so this nasty friend of his had both somehow. don't judge CCP when you don't know all the facts, only the OP can tell that to us.

Yeah,
I did it to prove a point. These forums are filled with hipocricy of the worst kind. This right here shows it:

But its not you, its a top end PVPer and major contributor to the game and community.
If you're part of the "elite PVP club" then you can **** up and get 's. If you're not, you're sent to WOW with 's and 's.

That really is a ****ty thing to happen but maybe it might be a good thing as you can take a break and do other stuff for a while.
I hope you get your stuff back and return again, you've made quite a name for yourself in the game and even a noob like me knows your name well

I dunno, I think it had a lot to do with his attitude, honestly. I've been more than happy to flame the OP in the past, mostly because I thought he came off as a self-important arrogant *******.
But that doesn't mean I want to see his account hacked. ---------------- Tarminic - 35 Million SP in Forum Warfare Play EVE: Downtime Madness v0.81 (Updated 4/8) |

Well, like I said before, if any other poor sap would have admitted it was a friend he knew that hacked his account the eve-o forums would've been kicking him back to WOW or Hello Kitty Online strictly blaming him for the supposed hack.

Well if we find out that he did give out his username and password, I'd do the same regardless of who he is. ---------------- Tarminic - 35 Million SP in Forum Warfare Play EVE: Downtime Madness v0.81 (Updated 4/8) |

I would assume CCP could give at least some of your stuff back whilst sticking to whatever rules they have for this kind of thing. Damn hope I would get my stuff back under similar circumstances.
Come back after taking your break dude, ships and isk are the least of your assets in eve. For gads sake man, you've got a NAME

Sounds like a rage quit to me. Getting hacked is a good reason to rage quit, but don't forget that a lot of the fun is climbing the ladder and killing expensive ships in a T1 BC and such. Journey is more fun than the end goal, blah blah etc etc.

I got dollars to donuts that someone downloaded something that they shouldn't have hoping to get an out of game advantage, which then led to the hacking.
Just starting conspiracies.

Been a long time mate... I still remember you (with fondness ♥) from back in the olde huzzah days... sucks that something like this would be why you end up quitting. If you end up not leaving / coming back soon, I look forward to meeting you in local once again, otherwise fly safe IRL bro, will miss you

This upsets me to the utmost. I am newer to the game and I had just recently read that BURN EDEN may be making some trips to my home . It is unfortunate that I may not encounter one of the old guard.
I hope things go in your favor. I have kept up with yalls work and through the posts I have read, yall always handeled yourselves professionally, competently and I would seriously doubt any accusations of account sharing.
Therefor;
Here is to getting all your stuff back.

Anyways leave the bickering behind us, it is an unfortunate circumstance and I am too tired and angry to start over what took me 3 years to accomplish.

The burden of Rage clouds your vision. Look to the past and it is not out a sight.
Years are lost not, for all you have gained Is Knowledge and SP's and a whole lot of iskis.
Three years played can not be stolen; no matter how big the ass-is. When you return; come in rage, and purge the swollen masses.
That will be the day

Used an Alt, for this was just too bad to post with my main. Thought something of the like need to be said, but my attempt at prose was well nothing short of awful.
LMAO!!! I actually felt like editing this piece of crap for punctuation and spacing.

Just one thing that people haven't considered here.
If you know someone in real life and play with them on a LAN - then over the shoulder pass word theft is a possibility.
You user name shows in the login.
So if you were playing in the same room as someone - especially if you did it a lot - they might have occasion to watch your fingers as you typed.
Some people play in Internet Cafe's which just increases the opportunity for others to figure out their pass word.
Of course there are also personal things people use in their pass words such as birth days or some such thing. The OP seems to feel that the guy just figured it out.
I know one guy who used his dog's name as a password but his security people at work broke it with a dictionary attack and made him change it. So don't use regular words.
Even using substitute characters can be *****ed by a dictionary attack that includes variations on those characters.
This is the reason why a lot of programs only give you a few failed logins and then lock you out for at least 20 minutes. They can also log accounts that are being attacked as it gets pretty obvious pretty fast if a dictionary attack is being used against an account - if the login server is looking for it.
At least it was just a computer game he got robbed in and not his real bank account.

lessons to be learned from this thread
1)login name should be some strange confluence of atmospheric interference patterns and random drunk-forehead-meets-keyboard
2)password should be random drunk-forehead-meets-keyboard combined with angry combinations of case-shifts
3)don't allow anyone to know you well enough they can guess your pw and login unless you can also hit them in the face in RL if they choose to screw you over by stealing from you
4)don't post in orange... it tempts the gods sucks to be you DHB
