Think how much veld you`d have in your hanger - it`d be worthless..
HAHAHAHA!
Seriously? Removing local = carebear heaven? I canŠt belive you said that.
And I thought Op was the one that was confused.
I did say that boosted Gateguns was needed to move the ganking from the Gates to the belts. Thus allowing players to always be able to enter low-sec systems (doing missions and mining will be tricky as always though). As it is now we have no reason to enter low-sec if there is a gatecamp blocking the way.
Replace local-chat with a region-chat and it canŠt be used for intel and it will still be used for interactivity.
I think you underestimate how much 0.0 corps produce to cover their war losses and you underestimate the need of missionrunners in high-sec as well.
Pirates greatest contribution to EvE online isnŠt providing a market for Veldspar. No, their contribution is to making low-sec an empty wasteland. And it is empty because the "delicate balance" between risk-reward is messed up completly there. ---------------------------------------------------------- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GwaMHJzruDU&feature=related |

Why not war decc a PvP corp if you are so nber? As you are both PvP I'm sure you will play fair and have a lot of fun combat... What you want is easy targets so at least be honest enough and admit it. Like the low sec pirates whining about lack of haulers doing AFK flying full of officer gear...
we are mercs we fight whoever we are payed to fight... does anybody understand that no? if we are hired to kill miners for some reason we will fight them same goes if we are hired to fight a large pvp corp it has no different just the contract may differ
Ah the classic I'm not the one responsible here. Be a merc and accept only contracts against PvP corps. But I guess that would be hard. We've had quite a few war deccs that were by "mercs". Strange how they whined to no end (one even said he would petitions us too CCP for ganging up on him) when we fought back... Yea mercs. MC were mercs (during the good old days) you are just pathetic whiner.
BTW don't you think that forcing your target to stay docked is quite bad for their game? Hard to produce if you can't get minerals, hard to do missions if you can't undock and so on. It's not only about padding your KB.

Not another one wining about people not going to face some big bad pirate or merc gang in his Retriever... I wouldn't need such a program, if I was mining during a war-dec I'd keep a hawk's eye on local constantly, have the ship warp aligned and ready to go. So you can't kill your target, boohoo...they can't do anything in their station either while you are camping the sytem
Yeh I myself could fight, but generally what mercs bring along will beat my Blasterokh.
Why is it when someone who isn't some 'hardcore PvP' and decides not to fight, that suddenly the rules of universe have to change just so you can kill them more easily? ------------------------

Bacon and several other apps like it were developed by and for 0.0 alliances, not carebears :p Some alliances like the strange insect alliance I will not name have the app connected to their own central server so they can get warnings from multiple ships at the same time.
An alliance or large corp using this can sit alts out 5-10 jumps away down the traffic pipes and see anything heading towards their space with it. Think of them as automated sentries.
Besides that far in the future, don't you think the AI's and robotic ships and such would actually be more advanced than they actually are in Eve? Maybe they should just make an anchorable module that does the same thing but requires care and feeding like a POS?
I repeat, this is not a carebear app it is alliance defensive pvp app.

ok. this is going off topic now - obvoisly you all condone the non pvp enviroment so why not go play something else rather than ruin eve for those who want to pvp. and yes i mean against other pvp`er too. Honestly you try to raise a relevant topic and get swamped with ******** comments from people who find staring at a rock interesting.. It`s not about what your target is - it`s about there being too many tools to avoid pvp. next step maybe you`ll have to ask b4 u fight like other(inferior) mmo`s... guess some of you would like to see that day, personaly i think thats pathetic.

So before bacon everyone was just happily undocking and getting ganked by your oh so skillful gang? Bacon doesn't provide any extra intel and is thus just different representation of the same old local. I don't use bacon since eve is crappy piece of programing even without the log server runing but watching local or listening for the sounds is more or less the same. You have to be there and pay attention.

It might have something to do with the name of this topic you know: "Carebears are having it too easy". And it looks like you agree with that. Carebears = people not doing pvp.
Or is it you that are off-topic? ---------------------------------------------------------- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GwaMHJzruDU&feature=related |

In my opinion carebear defines someone who avoids pvp scenarios at all cost. not nescesarily miners(indeed i dont blame miners as they lack the relavant skills) Just to clarify the context of this thread... hopefully this will not confuse certain individuals who clearly do fall into this category.. It`s not just about bacon there are other ways life is too eay for the carebear.. too many stations to hide in for 1 - why does 1 system need 17 stations? There are many things within eve wich i believe make it too easy to avoid combat should you be inclined. the purpose of this thread is to explore and discuss these in a sensible fashion. BACON being the main bugbear. shame many people seem incapable of this Hopefully it will get back to topic and less flaming

1. "carebear defines someone who avoids pvp scenarios at all cost". Such players will avoid pvp scenarios by being in NPC corps and simply canŠt be wardecced. BACON is no use for them at all, the only thing they have to worry about is suicide ganking.
2. If "Carebears are having it too easy" in EvE why do YOU think low-sec is so empty if the game is favouring carebears so much? ---------------------------------------------------------- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GwaMHJzruDU&feature=related |

Ah.... the classic "discussion"
I want a "Snuff all carebears within 1000 AU" button
vs.
I want "Bubble of invincibility", mean people suck....
I wouldn't mind seeing some discussions, maybe even some off the wall ideas, that don't involve just crappy dumb gankbears whining about crappy dumb carebears (and the reverse).
Local, as an intel tool, is crappy and dumb. It frankly doesn't do much for any of the intelligent players, whether they seek player combat or seek to avoid being on the losing side of player combat.
No matter what (if anything) happens to Local, Crappy Dumb Carebears are still going to get themselves ganked and they're going to whine about it; and Crappy Dumb Gankbears are going to whine because there feel there aren't enough Crappy Dumb Carebears to gank and they can't ever seem to catch anyone else.
So lets just ignore that segment of the player populace and come up with some intelligent ideas for balanced tools that would help intelligent players.

In answer to that - #1 Not all carebears stay in npc corp. there are 1000`s of corps full of them out there. #2 since they avoid all possible threats they dont try to goto lowsec, since it`s much simpler to live in empire and avoid most combat, thats why lowsec is empty. The carebear is too afraid to try to stake a claim to it.. tho i have known of carebear corps who strike up relations with pvp corps and co-exist in lowsec but sadly this is doesnt seem to happen much

Let the PVE people play and let the PVP kill themselves. The two dont mix so dont worry about them. I am also not sure why it bothers you. If all I want to do is mine, build and do the occasional mission, why should you or anyone care?

Because there are some players that are, for whatever reason, determined to force PvP onto PvE minded players. I myself mostly mine, manufacture lots of stuff, do the occasional missions and if I feel like it or I'm needed, go to low-sec with my friends and kill some real pirates or whatever is in the way.
To me, a bunch of so-called 'hardcore PvP' players war-deccing a corp of PvE'ers who have little to no chance of fighting back, sounds like some sort of PvP-carebear, being afraid of an actual fight (low-sec and 0.0 too tough for you?) and potentially losing their ships. (mercs may be excepted from that, but why hire a merc corp against a bunch of miners in the first place?) ------------------------

What I want is afun game. Being a target for some self proclaimed (lying) merc is hardly fun and I'll either gang up on them with my corp mates or if we think that we have no chance than just dock and wait until they get tired of it. My life doesn't revolve around EVE. How is ganking a miner or a missioning ship in any way risk? So we can agree that everybody (including 99% of 0.0 folks) is doing their best to minimise the risk. Strange how that works ha?

Not heard of, um, bait?
I found a Hulk by itself in a belt yesterday, in 0.0. I warped to it in my Drake, but alas he had already warped off. Next thing I know a Rapier decloaks and 5 Fighters appear around it. If I hadn't been out of warp scram range I wouldn't have the slightest chance of escape. ...

Hey douche cannon, did it ever occur to you that Carebears aren't the only ones that could possibly benefit from this?
I'd wager that the average "carebear" is much, much less likely to install an audio-warning program than the average griefer, high sec ganker or extortionist. Sure would make hunting down specific targets in busy systems a hell of a lot easier!
But, yeah. These forums seriously need some indicator that the post has ended and the sig has started.
