Personally I like the looks of my vigil/cheetah but I'm fine with the probe/cheetah as long as it has its bigger cargo and if they add maybe a high slot.
Glad to see the change coming.

I doubt that CCP will be changing any of the stats on the ships getting new hulls; they're already 'balanced' relative to each other (at least according to CCP) so incorporating the stats of the new hulls would likely throw that balance off.

Can't say I'm unhappy. My Covert Ops character flies Minmatar and Amarr Covert Ops and EAS ships, so now he gets a little variety in his hangar, instead of variations on just two hulls.
The Probe has that slapdash look a Minmatar ship should have. I like it.

The imicus and the probe needed some tech 2 loving... but OMG they are ugly.

If anything the price of the remaining 14ish Magnates would go up in the eyes of the some of the owners. They would look on the variations tab and see it, wonder about the history of it. I don't like this change but I'll deal. And as long as ccp doesn't add any more silvers or golds in the game I'll be happy.
If you look at it this way - Entity owns 4 of them - He ain't selling,
i own 1, turned down 32 billion to sell it. I don't plan on selling it either.

There is no way that the imicus model is acceptable for the helios.
The helios is probably the best looking ship with the trinity graphics, and the imicus the worst looking one.

The Imicus is an ugly ship. It looks like a big stab of metal supported by a smaller stab of metal. The Heilos on the other hand has the look and feel of a sneaky covert opts frigate. Its compact design, the pulsating atteni, it really just shouts that its a ship on a mission. CCP DONT CHANGE IT! |

Besides from being ugly, will the changed covops also use the bonus from their T1 counterparts?
Cheetah was good because of the slot layout and speed, if it will be more in line with the Probe it will be one of the worst ( cargosapce bonus)
Also i dont quite see the logic used to change it to their astro counterparts.
Covops where the first T2 ships in game, changing it after so long, for reasons of things being added after more then 3 years is not a very valid reason, it kinda breaks the feeling of the game when you do that.

Loving the new Cheetah model, the Vigil hull looks incredibly ********, but i'm not a fan of ships that take the stance of fenceposts. (They look especially dumb when taking a banking turn too).
Hope FCs get the Align To as a group command.

The navy omen is pwn, it can actually fit a full rack of guns for a start.
The Navy Scythe has missile bonus and a nice big cargo bay
Amarr LP now worth 4 x the amount of minmater.
Great, well done ccp and here was me thinking you could do no wrong.
For the love of god change the damn bonus on the scythe. |

Nothing about the cov ops were changed except the model. They are exactly the same now as before. |

They all ready have 3 combat frigs, so does this mean they are changing one of the existing ships?

Surely the solution to this is to swap the T1 Ewar and Astrometrics frigates models over, thus preserving the sexiness of the current Helios etc, and not leaving inventors with the wrong BPO. =/

I always liked the Anathema the way it was, and possibly other people did too were it not for the vocal minority calling it down. Its razor thin profile felt "cov op'ish" and was a cool, sleek design in my eyes.
Now we're left with yet another prawn but with rocket boosters attached. Thx a lot.
A hope your new Helios is 10 times uglier then it already looks.

This after CCP clearly stated when the Magante model was given out that this "Model" of frig would never be given out again. Way to go CCP.

And we've come to adapt them as our own, now ccp is going back and saying ....Oops we made a bad 3 years ago and are correcting it now. Ya..Ok..No. Change the models on the newer T2 frigs (Electonric attack frig) to the unused models. It would be more accepted.
Plus the Magnate would be much better as an electronic attack frig. Same for Probe.

It would have made sense 2 years ago, but after 3 years of the same model and it changing now. That doesn't make sense.

It seems so, yes. I'm sure you already know, Amarr have one frigate less than the other races, for reasons never really explained; they're missing the astrometrics frigate. The Magnate model has been in the game forever, in the guise of the ultra-rare Silver Magnate and Golden Magnate crafts. It seems like the plain old T1 Magnate is now being launched as Amarr's missing astrometrics frig.
