Assuming you know the spawn triggers and don't aggro groups before you need to, what missions pump the most DPS into a mission ship?
I ask because I've been noticing that my raven's tank has been holding up extremely well in LVL4 missions and wondering if I can scale it back a little, or if I've just been lucky with getting soft missions.

on my old raven fit the hardest missions were worlds collide (guristas/serpentis), and pirate invasion (sansha) (aggro seems to work slightly different now, so its not quite as hard, aka only get aggroed by 2 groups when you warp in rather than 3, and one is so far away it doesn't matter too much as long as you can kill em off a bit). both were dps tankable though, aka i could kill enough stuff fast enough that my ship didn't blow up
and yes, most lv4 tanks can be scaled back, i used to run with 2 lar II 4 hardeners (did i put a dc or heatsink in that 7th slot, I can't remember), now i do missions with 1 lar II and 3 hardeners
got hit a bit hard in one mission but killed stuff off fast enough it wasn't a problem

The "Enemies Abound" series of missions also put out quite a lot of hurt, particularly 5/5, where you have to fend off fleets of Republic Darkanas and Fleet Typhoons. It's quite nasty.

Damsel in Distress and Right Hand of Zazzmattazz always seem to give me trouble in terms of tanking.
I almost always draw full aggro in every mission I run - so that I don't have to worry about my drones getting any aggro. Since I use two ships to run the missions, I'll sometimes split the aggro, but usually I just count on one decent tank holding while both kill. All of my ships are setup to tank a decent amount of damage and inflict a decent amount of damage.
One of the missions I consider a good test is Mordus Headhunters, room 2, full spawn aggro (both spawns). My single-repped Navy Megathron can sit still and tank this long enough to kill enough to get the DPS under control (if I move away from them, then it is easy to tank, but then the wrecks are further apart). ------------

Serpentis room in the WC is quite a bit as well.
For damsel in distress, try fitting torps, the merc bs come very close anyways and you can chew right through them. Need good drone skills to kill the hac tho.

I'm pretty sure Enemies Abound 5 of 5 is the hardest. There's lots of other missions with the potential to pwn you can handle the aggro in most of them.
I'd say Blockade if you shot only the trigger spawns would be pretty scary.

agreed. its the only lvl 4 I cannot do solo in my drake. you have to kill the darkonas fast or you get overwhelmed with DPS very fast.

it was harder then any lvl 4 i tried _____________________________________________ yawnnnnn |

Nomads 3/5, an L4 Thukker storyline mission. On warp-in to the second room I had just barely enough time (starting warp immediately!) to warp out again, deep into structure.
Too bad only very few people will ever experience this "WTF!" feeling, due to the rare faction.

I'm trying to think of missions I don't attempt solo because of their dps. The only one I can think of is Enemies Abound 5/5. I have no idea if I could do it solo or not (without warpouts) because I've never tried it alone. And faction hits are horrible, too, so not really worth it. Although one day I'd love to try it just to prove to myself I can do it.
Careful aggro management and watching for triggers means the majority of very high dps missions can be done remarkably easily by just saving the triggers for last. That doesn't work for EA 5/5 because the spawns are timed regardless of how you approach attacking the npcs. Kill or be killed!

I think I know the one you're talking about; was it something like 14 battleships hitting you at once? I did that with a friend, me in a drake, him in a rokh, and we both had to warp out multiple times to survive it.

most other missions are easy, using Abaddon with low end faction stuff.

In addition to ones already mentioned, L4 Mordus Headhunters gets hairy when I get full room aggro in the second room, which I do about half of the time.

THAT's what it was called. Do agents still hand this out? I've been thinking about trying to run that last room. |

Quote: In addition to ones already mentioned, L4 Mordus Headhunters gets hairy when I get full room aggro in the second room, which I do about half of the time.
Attacking just the small, close group of frigs will not aggro the rest. However, there's proximity aggro with the other two spawns: if you attack the closer large group within x (haven't figured out the #) km of the back group, you'll aggro both groups and things can get hairy.
What I normally do is, as soon as I'm in the pocket, I turn around and start to afterburn away from all the ships while locking onto the small group of frigs. I then kill these ships while still afterburning away.
By the time all the frigs are gone, I'm usually close to my max targeting range away from the closest rat. I then aggro the closest rat, and the back group will not aggro me.
Also, the back group aggroes drones (at least sentry drones, dunno about others), but will not switch aggro to you when you pull the drones in.
