Yeah so like I'm on IRC and Tornsoul is ranting about getting something that sounds like a cross between a spaghetti dish and a megathron anyway he yaps on for a bit and sounds like he is positively excited...
Anyway to cut a long story short, BIG corp are being given a souped up Megathron (Similiar in stature to imperial apoc or imperial arma) to give away in a lottery. I for one think this thing stinks like crap, there are advanced and veteran players all over eve clammering for this kind of bship and what do ccp do? They give it to some random lottery so that it can go to some noob who will probably either keep it in a hangar and never use it, or ebay it.
The other high class bships had to be earned using skill and intense teamwork on the parts of the pilots in the frigate tournament. This ship will end up with someone who doesn't deserve it and has recieved it purely on luck.
Hell there isn't even any RP reason to justify this crock.
The ship itself is not in the game database as of yet, but an email that I have seen states that ccp will be patching it into the game next week or later in time for the end of the lottery.
These kind of ships should be able to be earned by all players to give higher level veterans something to aim for besides more meanigless ganking.
Anyway yeah so the whole thing stinks and if you disagree with me ur wrong.

ccp likemost games seems to forget about power gamers the ones that push the games to the max

I really doubt its an unlisted ship...
Its most likely a Megathron with all tech 2 and named equip or something.

Its a Bougnisarin Megathron, ive seen the email, it will be patched in next week or before the lottery ends and it is not a normal megathron.
Also pls note this is not directed against BIG, they have a nice little lottery and stuff going on. Ok good got that sorted...

Competitions are nice and they should continue, but they are elitist and everyone should get a stab at a nice prize once in a while.
I would have thought something a bit more imaginative could be done, but there's nowt wrong with it really.

Again with the needless exageration, "some random lottery"
1) how many lotterys are there currently running in the eve universe ?
2) how many of them are well known for being legit ?
3) how many of them are having a 1 year anniversary and thus being the longest running player event in eve to date ?
again if you have a point, stick to facts, there should be no need for exageration to prove it, if you have one.

True, i know i competed, we came second place and whatever we got was earned, some skill some luck, was an event it was fun, got people involved, this is doing the same. Its honouring a long running player run event, the only one of its kind in eve.

Well bit early to make assumptions like this, RP is well made up, so having an RP reason to justify something is hardly solid gound is it ? you can just make one up, and your currently in no position to know whether there will or will not be an RP justification for it.

And just for the record there have been lots of other lottery attempts in eve but not many have made it off the ground.
Anyhow my arguement was legitamate and well presented in my usual enigmatic style of textual intercourse.
Don't throw the dummy out of the pram just cos I blew your little secret a couple days early, I mean geez I even said it was not a flame post directed at you or your corp.
Its not like I said your corp only got the ship cos its chock full of ISD people or something stupid like that, infact I never said anything about BIG, so just chill out and allow people their opinions and discussion about topics without jumping in with your asbestos underpants on, k?

Agreed. Also long standing players will have an advantage, ISK, im sure whoever gets it would be willing to part with the ship for the right price

Sadly ships like this, when given an ISK value become entirely useless.
The Golden Magnate sold for nigh on 1billion isk and we all know what happened to that, how could any corp justify that kind of expenditure whilst trying to maintain a risk/reward balance?
Bearing in mind that the Magnate was a frigate you can imagine the price tag on a bship such as this and what you have is essentially a large flying waste of isk.

Can we all get this new ship for free from CCP to have a raffle with? If CCP does give folks who want to have a raffle the ship, who gets the money from the ticket sales?
If CCP will donate one of these ships to me, I will hold a drawing, and charge no isk per ticket. If I charged for tickets, then I am stuck with the millions in revenue; what to do with all that isk from ticket sales? 
Skip the lottery/raffle; have CCP put everyone's name into a hat, and give the lucky winner the ship. You don't need a lottery that you have to spend isk on because some people won't know the lottery exists for this ship.

A valid point really Agent shield, although I suspect there are reasons for BIG being awarded the ship. They have always run the lottery and they have a reputation for fairness.
Although I suspect most people will wrongly assume its because BIG is full of gms or some crazy thing like that ;P

I pointed out some ( imho ) needless exageration, assumptions and unreasonable statements, i dont recall saying anything personal about you. I was just not happy with how you described torns actions, it was not a fair representation imo.
