Sorry but forgot one thing: Will it be possible to access ingame char portraits and player corporation logos? So i could write a corp website with friendly and enemy corps/players and include the correct images.

We have some awesome design changes in store for the RONA In-game website and can't wait till the new IGB hits however;
We just downloaded that Shiva client to test our current in-game pages under the new IGB and realized that none of our PHP pages work anymore.
Namely all of our default.php for our ingame websites for:
RONA http://simple.ronacorp.com
RONA-KIA http://kia.ronacorp.com
RONA Midgard Academy http://midgard.ronacorp.com
However all the basic html pages still work fine. Anyone know why? BTW the sites can only be accessed in-game and the default.php is the main page you will see when visiting all of the RONA Corp sites.
Just wondering if something happened to support for these types of pages. As of right now and for the past 6 months all pages work fine except for the new Shiva IGB (so far)

PHP is server end scripting, if it's not working check your html output from the php script. As my php code works just fine and outputs html specific for the shiva browser aswell as specific html for the ingame 2.0a browser.

PHP is server side, so a browser change would have little effect on the PHP, though the logic in your PHP page might be making the wrong assumption. I dont know if you have a class file, or just redirecting based on $_SERVER['HTTP_USER_AGENT'];
I had a similar problem with the User class I wrote a while back because I was testing against the function IsMiniBrowser();
My function was assuming an agent string that was 'EVE-minibrowser/2.0a1' and checking that only the string was the same or at least only varied from 2.0 or higher.
I'm not sure how you redirect your pages to the proper IGB version, but if it is similar to the way I did, you may be having the problem because the Agent Header is not the same in the Shiva browser (see my post at the top of page 2).
make sure that if you are using the HTTP_USER_AGENT variable that your php is checking against an agent string of both 'EVE-minibrowser/2.0a1' and 'Python-urllib/2.1', not just the old USER_AGENT of 'EVE-minibrowser/2.0a1' if you want it to redirect properly.

Traveler, would it be possible to get a View Source feature added to the IGB? There have been several instances of debuging a website where View Source was the only thing that showed me what was flubing up the page. Adding a View Source option to the IGB would be a welcome addition in my book. So, what are the chances of that?

Is it possible to have a "pay" feature in the Browser. This is to me the most important feature for the future browser. If you could do this it would be very easy to add news letters, or payments for secret places etc, without the hassle there exist.
Just have a confirmation. "Are you really sure you want to pay .... isk for this service" Yes/No

Ok, on this page it states that the following images are supported.
scrolling down to the Image tag section at the end of that section you can clearly read...
Supported image types: jpg, gif, png, tga, bmp, dds
Though I constructed a test page that attempts to load each image format and display it. If you try Internet Explorer, you will get them all but TGA, and DDS. If you try the TQ version of IGB you can see, that every single one works except the GIF format, it only shows a question mark. Now, when we load up the Shiva IGB to test, it shows similar results to the IE browser, as in all show except TGA, and DDS again. This needs to be fixed.
using relative URL's or posting data back to the page that sends it, tends to bork-up the Full URL that is displayed in the Addressbar. It shows proper on the TQ IGB as I have tested, but the Shiva IGB just shows the relative portion. Also, the issue with form data being lost when the user either on accident or with purpose attempts to resize the IGB. if you trigger a resize the entire contents of the form are lost and you must start over completely from scratch. As best as I can tell this is because resizing the frame triggers the IGB to reload the page from the server, and by doing so it tosses out all your work.

<pre></pre> tags do not work. documentation states they are supported, but in this example code you can clearly see they are ignored. I need this tag for some specific things I wish to use in game. The example works without issue in both Mozzila, and Internet Exploder.

<colgroup></colgroup> I suppose works, but using <col> with width and span attributes does not function properly in the IGB. This test page works fine in both IE and Mozilla, but fails to render the center section left hand sidebar as a 4 pixel width. If I am doing the syntax wrong let me know, but as I stated this works fine and 100% as intended in both IE and Mozilla browsers.
Also, is there a place we can get access to the new EVE hooks, and triggers? The Shiva page mentions them as coming, such as triggering a payment, triggering a show info for items, etc. At what point will we be made aware of how to implement these triggers on our sites?

How does it work, and is it an existing spreadsheet with the ships number
like " showinfo:657 Iteron Mark V", as the topological map for the universe in EVE Online?

We wanted to start working on an ingame site for the new release but i cannot seem to get the IGB to open.
The first post said that its posible to open the IGB with CTRL + ALT + SHIFT + B but i get no responce on that command.
anyone got an idea? Or do i just ahve to login to try the website?

The in-game browser needs a user defined HOME option. Right now if the EVE browser home page goes down on the in-game browser. The browser becomes useless.. Locked in a never ending loop trying to load a page which is 404. If you don't want a user defined HOME page thingy, then at least put a STOP button.
Also. On Tranquility right now. There's a really nasty bug with the in-game browser. If you add a bookmark(favorite) to the in-game browser. Then on the next session change, the entire user interface disappears. It's like pressing Ctrl+F9, but then pressing it again doesn't do anything.
Steps..
1) Go to an in-game browser compatible web site.
2) At the top of the browser window, select "Bookmarks" then "Add/Remove"
3) Now type in a name for the bookmark, click the "Add" button, then "Close" it.
4) Now all you have to do is dock, jump, or undock. And POW! The UI disappears..
5 R&D Agents, 10months, Zero BPO Offers..
Onboard navigational [Planetary Avoidance] computer.
My account will be suspended at the end of the current play period.
Expires on 19. September 2004 |
