Any info on forms inside tables returning double values (using ASP)?
example:
<input name="charname" value="flashback">
would return the value: "flashback, flahback"
I've seen a workaround but no official confirmation that this is indeed bugged.

Please test this special bug with the new build on Sisi. I changed the processing functions for form submit. I hope this fixes this bug. Unfortunately, i have no server where i can test it.

build .3007
just found another little bug with the textarea. if you have some text with linebreak it will not show this correctly, just one line.
It looks like the tables are not jumping around the whole page. just some pixels.
thx for your great work :) Nomi

I just tested the form processing, the bug with double data being retrieved from a form seems to be fixed. Great work, thanx alot for that.
It looks as if the border width of 1px (CSS border-width:1px) now renders as 2 pixels.
Also when creating 2 tables on the same page, only the first table will be rendered with a border (using CSS). example
-stylesheet- table.mining { border-style: solid; border-width: 1px; }
-web page-
<table id="mining"> <tr><td>some data</td></tr> </table>
<table id="mining"> <tr><td>some data</td></tr> </table>
only the first table will be rendered with a 1 pixel border, the second table gets no border.
Cheers,

Simple question Why NOT use IE engine ? Eve officially suports only win. 99% of win users have IE (using 98 +) So WHY invent the wheel ? -------------

Originally by: FlashBack Great Job on all the testing and samples i've seen so far. Has been a while since i worked on our corps ingame website. Now i want it to be compatible for shiva, and offcourse use all of it's new futures.
Server is offline now though, and in the very first post Traveler mentioned the CTRL + ALT + SHIFT + B combination for popping up the IGB. That doesn't seem to be working for me.
I have copied my eve folder, i have installed all shiva patches (i'm on 2927 now) and when i hit the key combination nothing happens at all. I couldn't find anything in this thread about this option being removed. Anyone able to help me out here?
You can activate this feature again if you create a shortcut at options. |

Edited by: Grismar on 12/12/2004 10:51:07 Lots of excellent fixes sofar, good work! Keep it up :)
It may be worthwhile to actually spend 30 minutes on writing a short article for the dev blogs explaining why you didn't reuse IE or FireFox (free) engine. I have spent a lot of time trying to make this clear to people, but they don't seem to get it or simply won't believe me since I'm not a dev (for EVE at least ;)) I can think of a couple of reasons, but it might be nice to hear which one of those actually tipped the scales in your case.
Anyway, here's a simple and new bug:
The browser parses "<br />" correctly, but ignores "<br/>". This seems like something that should be easy to fix on parser level and would make a big difference for me and probably for anyone who is trying to use their xhtml libraries. (I know the new IGB only supports HTML 3.2, but since it already supports <tag />, I see no reason in not supporting <tag/> too...)
Greetings, Grismar.

Thank you for that insightful comment, Eeyore. I'm sure you can tell us exactly why and how reusing IE would work, seeing as that the code for IE is not available for reuse and would allow for a lot of content that simply cannot be rendered in the EVE client. (Javascript, Flash, movies, Java applets, etc.)
On a more constructive note, I've updated my page of bugs with these: 45. single elements with slash The browser accepts <br />, but ignores <br/> Example on this page. 46. different size for text and password inputs Two elements in the same form, one text, one password get different widths from the same size. Example on this page. 47. Setting table cell width using CSS Doesn't work, using the width attribute -does-. Example on this page. 48. CSS styling only applies to first table element Styling only seems to be applied to the first table the page runs into, after that they're styleless. Example on this page.

well IE not good = fine let's use Mozilla
Quote:
How can other companies and organizations use Gecko? Because Gecko is small, lightweight, and open source, other companies and organizations can easily reuse it. Many hardware vendors are creating devices with network access and wish to include web browsing functionality. Likewise, many software developers want to include Web browsing capability in their applications, but don't want to independently develop browser software. These developers can pick and choose the browser components they want from among those that Gecko offers, and package these components alongside their own within their finished products.
Flash and JS ...... well i'm sure you can turn them off :) the code IS THERE for you to REUSE .... you can't fully integrate it into EVE ? Fine, look how they wrote the html parsing ...... and do it the same way ....... Their browser DOES work (sure it got some bugs, but it works).... EVE browser .... well .... http://www.mozilla.org/newlayout/faq.html -------------

I wouldn't mind continuing this discussion, since I can still think of a number of reasons why starting with the Mozilla source (or any full-fledged browser for that matter) is a bad idea imo. But let's take that elsewhere, since this is hardly the thread for it.
Greetings, Grismar.

The reason for not using IE or Mozilla browser is quite simple:
1. These widgets can not interact with the EVE drawing layers. It is a totally different way to draw the UI. 3D compared to 2D.
2. All the special tags we use to provide special functions in the IGB will not work any more.
3. We don't want to replace normal web browsers. We want to provide a simple browser that allows you to display your corporation webpages. I agree, we have done a much better browser than we ever planned to have. But some things (like Flash and Java Script) will never be supported.

ok today is my first day writing for the igb. so i read this whole thread <gasp> and i didnt see any mention of problems with the href="evemail..." tag. in short, i can't get it to work. the example shows href=evemail:charname or href=evemailto:charname. neither will work. check my url for yourself - i put up examples of each syntax.
http://www.thereverend.org/eve/dkts/
also, mousing over one evemail link highlights all of them - why is that?
theos phobou ceo, dark templars http://www.thereverend.org/eve/ (yeah i know)
