Is there a skill I can train that will decrease the time it takes to initialise warp?
Many thanks

Your ship stars warping as soon as it get's aligned in the direction of warp and has at least 80% of max speed. The skills you need are agility skills: spaceship command, Evasive maneuvering. Mods you could use are nanofiber and inertia stabilisers. All this will make your ship turn and accelerate faster.

You can also remove things that will delay your align time. Armor plates add weight which reduces agility for example. Turn off your afterburner when aligning for warp as well.

Also: Advanced Spaceship Command for freighters, racial Freighter for jump freighters, Capital Ships for... well, capital ships.

But turning on MWD for one cycle helps battleships with warping.

Turning on mwd for one cycle will marginally help, only when you start warping fom 0m/s, AND, it takes you longer to accelerate to warp speed than one mwd cycle. Don't quote me on it, but I think that is only true for battleships with plates fitted.
When your ship is up to speed, however, and not aligned, one cycle of mwd will actually delay you from getting into warp for ~20 seconds, you can use it for that.
To warp out asap on a ship that is neither stopped or aligned, you should maintain mwd status: If it was on, keep it on until you're in warp. If it was off, don't turn it on. |

And this may be obvious, but it is often a good idea to align yourself to the object you intend to warp to several seconds before you actually need to warp out. You can either double-click in space toward the direction you are warping (to a stargate or station for example), or use the new "right click menu -> align to" option. If I'm running a mission that doesn't require maneuvering, I will sometimes stay aligned to a starbase for the entire fight, ready to warp out at a moment's notice. |

When MWD will go off, BS will instawarp (it's similar to web trick).

Yeah. You should be able to get your BS into warp in 10 seconds from a standstill (MWD align trick). Additionally, train Evasive Maneuvering, which increases your agility.
