Edited by: Joingash Gaiden on 20/06/2008 12:17:07 CCP videos were always ingame captured. The latest one seems to be very different from the real game:
¦ Effects ¦ Explosions ¦ Planets extremely big (like they should be imo, it is so cool in the video) ¦ The whole universe seems to be better and more cool ¦ Even ships do not look so good in the real game
So... did you edited the video? Or is it an upcoming expansion? But even though we will see those cool things in the future, why do you put them in the vide now?!

Please refer to the international law that states video game trailers have to be made with ingame footage.
Oh wait, there is none.

Oh wait, there is none.
Still, ccp has always taken pride in their videos being actual gameplay footage.. What's next? No more free expansions?

I find it odd that you saw the statement that all scenes were captured ingame.
I didn't see that at all in this video

I believe if the beginning of the trailer states "this is from in-game footage" then you have a point and all previous trailers have stated something to that effect to my knowledge.
So, it is not misleading?
If you didn't like the trailer, just say so...

Actually it is from game, you just need to buy a better computer and set the graphics settings to max.
What i don't understand from the video is why the corpses floating in space at the beginning of the movie are naked. Didn't they wear clothes when the ship was blown up ? Or are crewmen and -women are generally naked in future ?

They always did it, so i was wondering why they did not this time: ingame not cool as they wish it to be? They need more customers? More money? Whatever?
I'd like to hear a response, but thanks to how this thread is evolving i bet no dev will post here.
Thank you!!

Would only be false advertising if they were claiming to give you something that that infact dont...
Video is merely a view of the story within eve, nothing more.
Its also, f**kig AWESOME.... but whatever

no, they didn't always do it. Look at the Revelation videos and tell me if you see that in them.
And since you asked a question on the forums, your going to get a answer from the player base and not a dev alone.

Actually we're all nekkid in our pods when we fly out in space.. this keeps our clothes nice and tidy and not all messy from the pod goo

ROFL
So like, I'm sure you're championing the cause whenever any game releases a trailer with CGI in it, right?
Oh, you're not?
Yeah, that's what I thought.
In this case, the clue is in what is NOT present in the video, something which has been present in many of the prior trailers: "All Scenes in This Trailer Were Captured From Actual Gameplay".

That's true. I'm sure if it had just stopped at you basically accusing them of fraud they would've been lined up around the block to post in this thread.
Sadly, it's gotten much, much worse since then. ___________________________________________

Well, it's just that... you know how we use gigantic laser beams, thermonuclear missiles, and railguns to blow each other up in the harsh, extremely hostile environment of space? That tends to trump small sheets of organic/synthetic fabric and polymer clothing. Whether the corpses were pod pilots or crew members, it's miraculous so much of them was left intact after being ejected into the hard vacuum.

but as you can see yes it's low rez as sin.

Don't blame him, a dev did say it's what they want eve to look like in 2-3 years.

That's true, and I believe him, especially with the last 3 years of technological advancement in the graphics part, I mean, look at games like crysis, it looks soo good it's unreal. Imagine 3 years from now, yep, very possible. ______________________________________________ Euriti - I'll continue my nerd forum rage! |

plus it could of cooled better if they really went full bown I mean that planets is just an image nothing is moving it's just high rez. the ships are just the same models used now in better rez and with better lighting, but lighting isn't hard.
the effects.. sure 3 years down the road when the 8800GTS won't run it but it will be awesome. I don't know though those explosions.. do you think a game 3 years form now could really do that in real time?
