It's hard to tell if you're being sarcastic or not because, sadly, many people actually think this way.

I was being serious. i guess you haven't read all posts where the supporters of Nanos say it is okay "because the setups they use costs so much."
I am sure they are referring mostly to their Snakes and Rigs but it doesn't make their argument any less ridiculous. It doesn't take away from the fact that it is broken.
Now I don't know if you're serious or not...
In my mind, serious = supports nano whereas sarcastic = says something in mock support of nano in order to disparage ridiculous pro-nano arguments.
Anyway, my nano-Stiletto is still teh ownxorz. And it can warp scramble you from outside of Heavy Unstable neut range too, so Sok

C. The price of poly's is in line with the cost of alloyed tritanium bars which are used in popular rigs including polys and cargo optimizations.

CCP needs to automatically ban people off the forums for 12 hours every time the word nano is being used. 48 hours if its an entire thread about nanos. 72 hours if you are calling for nano nerfs! __________________________________________________

Edited by: Napro on 22/06/2008 09:45:25 If nano pilots are as skilled as they claim... why do they need invincible ships to pvp? All i hear from those cowards is how since they got a nano, they're k/d ratio has gone up.
Hmm. Ok. Shouldn't your k/d ratio have already been as high as possible if you were relying on mere skill?
Nerf the **** or lose alot of customers, CCP.
edit: Lawl @ nanoobs calling for bannings! This forum is for discussing Eve online.... when the abomination of 20km/s ships is removed from Eve... so to will the threads.

Yeah, 'cause they've been losing over nine thousand subs per day for the last year 'cause of nano gangs, and they didn't nerf nano's AT ALL up to this point (nanophoon, r.i.p.)... idiot.

How many noobies have come in contact with nanos since FW?
I'm a 2-3month old acct and I had never even heard the term nano until FW. When people that enlisted in the miltias to enjoy EA's new features run into the wall of crap that is invincible ships... people are going to leave.

So after they nerf nanos (looking for a ban here ) to keep customers, the same whiners will prolly ragequit a week later anyway when they're jammed by a falcon

No because what a Falcon does is an intended feature of the game.
I am sure CCP didn't intend to allow a certain setup to render other ship's modules and weapons useless and allow the nanofag to escape every fight he can't win.
See the difference?

It's simple numbers. Who will CCP hurt more from? Losing the 20 nanoobs or the 1,000+ FW pilots they harass on a daily basis? Even if Eve only loses 50 out of the 1,000 from frustration, that's still a bigger loss than losing all the nanoobs.
Or do you nanoobs actually think you're more important in real life because you have invincible pixels?

And my uber BM Orc Hunter on Lightninghoof used to pwn faces, but I haven't played WoW since September '07. I never had a problem with warlocks... 'cept this one time when I got pwnt by a gnome lock... but we don't talk about that.

Thats the thing, they'll rather keep the 500 players that are there for years and will probably be there for a few more years than 1000 trials who'll ragequit after a week.
Seasoned players know solutions to the tactics used against them, I'm sure Caldari militia has quite a few. Learn from them is all I can say.

So what you're saying is you FW clowns should get the best of 'epic 0.0 fleet warfare' and not have to deal with players using 0.0 tactics? That it's not enough for CCP to hold your hand and whisper assurances that 'it's okay, baby' to get you to pvp at all, but now you want them to hold your hand and nerf speed tank fits for the SECOND time? You've been playing for 2-3 months, as you said, so you don't remember reading about how nanos were already nerfed. You probably don't remember reading about the nos nerf, or the drone nerf, either.
Six months from now, you'll be posting to a 2-3 month player about how they don't remember some nerf that already happened that they'll still be whining about 'cause they don't know. 'nano' ships aren't broken, mate. My nano-Stiletto pwns faces.

if nanos are overpowered why dont you fly them?
ccp starts nerfing things when they get used too much. they havent nerved anything since nanophoon and that means not enough ppl fly nanos.
ever heard "adapt or die"? was a common term back when I joined eve...

For a nanoob claiming to be a 'skilled vet'... you sure skipped over a whole section of modules called ECCM. I suggest you give it a whirl and drop the cheatership

It was in STV and I had a habit of only using Tab to target stuff, flip through targets, etc. I was ganking some noob alliance guys and this succubus comes out of nowhere and there was so many freaking murlocs around that I couldn't tab to the lock and god knows you can't click on them if they're moving around... /wow

Fyi, I never flew a nanoship (nanofiber structure yes, but no 'classic' nano ships like vaga), but I successfully fought them.
And btw, the counters to nano are far more effective than eccm is to ecm.

I don't know what a Chewbacca defence is, but I wasn't defending anything with that post. I was making a joke based on something that happened in EVE before your time to illustrate my previous point.

Not only do you not know how to counter nano-fit ships, you also don't know what a pyramid quote is.
When you understand why the nano-fit exists, you'll begin to understand how to defeat the nano-fit. Read all of my posts in this thread and you'll see one phrase stick out often: nano-Stiletto. Do you know what a Stiletto is?
EDIT: Added link to CCP Saint's explanation of what a pyramid quote is so you'd have one less thing to fail about in this thread.

This is so hopelessly wrong I don't even know where to start
First of all, EVE is a sandbox game, no ship has to be pidgeonholed in to one role, you can fit it as you want to, you aren't locked, by nerfing everything YOU think is out of order we lock ships in to one role, this is not right.
Ever tried aiming medium guns at nanos or are you just grasping at straws here? There are 2 kinds of nano. a) Gunboat nano b) Droneboat nano
Gunboat nano has to slow down to hit you, that is then an excellent time for you to shoot at it and press your neut which means he got no mwd pulse, he's in your range and he's out of cap.
Droneboat nano isn't as fast as gunboat nanos and you can just kill its drones and the dps is gone, magic :o There's also only one of these in the game
So by using neuts, killing drones, using ecm and tracking disruptors, the inside of your skull + medium guns (hell even large blasters with null does some odd 200 dps you can render nanos useless, reduce their dps, shoot them and make them unable to escape. Missiles are broken and need a fix to bring in line with turrets vs nano boats. ______________________________________________ Euriti - I'll continue my nerd forum rage! |

I agree with most of Tenuo's post, except that I don't think missiles are necessarily 'broken'... I find it interesting that you can get some ships to go faster than a missile can go... perhaps a more significant bonus from skills (I forget the name of the one that increases missiles' max velocity atm) but not so much of a bonus that it makes missiles able to hit interceptors easily. Wouldn't want to go nerfing my nano-Stiletto.
