Originally by: CCP Mindstar Could you try putting the following command in the cmd box:
"telnet 87.237.38.200 26000"
You should see some garbled text ending at "LIVE@ccp".
This will tell us if there is an issue with the port that EVE uses, from your computer.
I got this
C:\>telnet 87.237.38.200 26000 'telnet' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file.

Ahh, I think telnet is not installed by default under Windows Vista. This page shows how to install it. -- |

ok tried it now and got the expected result.
tried to log in after that and got a different "connection failed" message this time:
The connection to the server was closed.
But that's probably because my subscription run out, right? |

Thanks for the bug reports. We have the info we need now, but the reports themselves will just be closed, so don't worry too much if that happens

Working through a few more options you could try - there is an alternate port to 26000 you can use to connect.
See here for how to set it up.

Perhaps when ambulation comes in we should all meet up for a celebratory drink in station?
Lol
Or maybe (shock, horror) meet up in RL

Well, hopefully it'll work when I get home.
Bit annoying about the skill loss. I only originally noticed there was a problem when logging in to set a new skill training last Tuesday.

Well, it works fine now. So the only question remaining is why did it stop in the first place? Hornet don't seem to have done anything, I've just had to tell them not to bother visiting me tomorrow.

Ah you must be the other person the hornet guy (Chris) was talking about. I assumed that you had solved it togther (?) So if it wasn't CCP and it wasn't hornet then what was the prob and how can we be sure that it won't come back...
For the record I'm now back online too

Apparently it was Hornet, they just didn't know how they'd fixed it.
Chris came to see me today and we did a few connection tests while they disabled and enabled things at their end to find out what would make it stop working again. It should all be fine now.

Me, I`m connecting here at home perfectly, but in my office client is just hanging there, trying to authenticate for few minutes and then brings that "no connection to server" error message. It started about a week ago and I suppose it has something to do with my ISPs (they are different). I will come back later with more details
