Ceremony Garp	Posted - 2008.06.28 11:19:00 - [1] Over the years, I've gained valuable insight into many areas of gameplay from reading the forums. Just lately, I've made a mental note to always take some characters comments more seriously than others. I don't know any of them, haven't been in a corp or alliance [afaik] with them, but they always seem to garner respect from the vast majority of other players. Two immediately spring to mind; Ryssa [sp?] with her multiple ship set-ups and Pottsey with his passive advice have both helped me immensely. What other worthy posters are there in here who know their stuff?

Aye, I gotta' agree with your comment about Sokratesz, as my main flies Caldari, he too has written some good stuff. Liang I didn't know about, but will keep an eye out from now on.

Ctp Branko is probs quite a good one for me because he has enough experience flying frig sized ships that he actually understands what I'm talking about, instead of all the people who basically skip flying frigs all together and come on here claiming that they are rubbish and couldn't hurt a well setup fly, even though they have no experience flying them.

Ceremony Garp	Posted - 2008.07.02 21:52:00 - [58] As I've now updated the original post to reflect the advice of those that put forward names [that were repeated by others], if anyone would like to copy that list and add the race types, ship types etc that those listed specialise in, I'm sure others would find that useful too. For example, Sokratesz accordingly is a Caldari specialist. This isn't to say that he knows sod all about any other race, but probably has more knowledge than most about Caldari specifically.

As with anyone else on the 'list'. At the end of the day, ANY post is only as good as the responses it gains. If a thread filled with how to create the perfect punisher setup that can instapop a battleship turns up, and every post from #2 to #151 (yay for pokemon!) is 'omg noob' 'you fail' etc...Then who on earth is going to pay attention? There will be people who have made significant posts of true value (Mechcore in my opinion) who arent on the list currently. Doesnt mean in any form that their posts have less meaning. Anyhow - Just watched Kung Fu Panda, so excuse me if i get all kunfu lingo on your asses. Mwha!

I'm not offended by the fact that no-one has mentioned me, I don't expect anyone to mention me because I don't fly hugely standard setups or with standard styles and therefore the majority disagree with me. Damn, I've been trying not to say anything negative in this thread, but have you ever thought that there might be a reason that these peoples' logic doesn't make sense to you? Even you admit that you don't fit your ships around the standard fits, or play with the standard play styles. So either you purposely choose less "efficient" methods of playing the game (e.g., for fun), or you simply think you've found a more efficient way of doing it. In either case, I encourage you to post your views. You may well have suggestions that will make someone enjoy the game more, or have thought up the next FOTM fit/play style. For example, currently theres a thread in relation to a solo caldari hybrid ship. Many are posting 'fly amarr'. Im giving caldari hybrid ship setups and suggestions, based on what he asked. When presented with setups in the thread, i attempt to work around them, and give my critism where i can (and not treading toes where i can help it :P) And - appologies if i do sound like an egomaniac - Whilst i assure you i am, i truly am not trying to be in this post. Purely pointing out that of the names i know on the list, they do post constructively, and do have pleanty of knowledge and experience to give. The difference between them, and your average poster, is 1. Sad nerd lives (atleast, mine is), writing skills of a decent degree, and so on. And yeah - ive lost the plot now, so gonna go to bed. Akita for the "math" behind many great threads on mechanics regarding setups, skills, and some interesting market topics. Though she's been going downhill lately Hoshi and Joerd Toastius for exploration and scanning. Arrz Graznic, find him always helpful, not to mention polite and one of the few that behaves as I would expect decent people behave irl. Which is a breath of fresh air on these forums. Liang for the Mordus HH analysis. Pottsey from the days of yore, no longer very active. Who was it that wrote an EW guide, and was always a loudmouth braggart, but still had good info...Rhyssa maybe? Umm, I'm sure there's more. As for ship setups to trust, well, that's not so poster dependent, when there are so many "no-name" posters with good setups, and even more who post crap setups. It's not hard to see why something would work and something else might not, or why one posters makes sense while another is an attention *****.

Tiller (awesome missiontimes thread), Pottsey, Akita, Lenardo, Shardale is interesting (but not in this section usually), Ricdic sometimes, HippoKing was good to read when I was younger, Dark Shikari was also good more often than not, Jim above me also I guess altho I can't put my finger on the posts what i remeber I remember the name as more often correct than not, Liang, Tarminic is a bit trollish sometimes but usually also has point somewhere hidden, Haladala (mining stuff), Lord Fritz (POS stuff), Sokrates (caldary ships) ... and I'm sure I'm missing few other good ones.
