So I'm sitting in FADE and saw a MASSIVE BOB fleet head to deklein and I see most of them coming back in pods, anyone wanna say what they run into ? I thought all these northern monkeys were mining ?

well i am looking forward to the next weeks, when the max-ops really starts....@ all those guys who are cheering for a few kills that were made yesterday: props to those who actually put up a fight (afaik iron and p-l)...and for the rest: lol, hiding in dead-end-systems and speaking about failure^^ obviously loads of ppl get so affiliated with caod, that they forgot how to handle a ship....

So uh, Bob lost about 0.3% of their ships (not to mention they prolly got reserve ones) to a doomsday (which killed 700-800+ milions worth of IRON ships too, gg on that) and everyone is like "OMG MAX IS FAIL OLOLOL".
Well, keep repeating that if you hope it helps, I got my popcorn ready together with large bucket for all the tears that will come.

Well TBH, when The 5 moved into Curse in a massive blob, I was a part of it and sure felt it was a huge achievement. I am guessing it was Dice guys who planned this whole MAXimum blobbage idea.
I remember that day clearly, people were saying "jeezus those 5 guys have got like a 150 man battleship gang!!!!"
Tbh I like the idea of this big blob, there is going to be lots of opportunities for small corps to nibble at the edges and pick off stragglers and reinforcements once they get out of the jump bridge area

Yes that sure proves Goons can go head to head with BOB. Of course they couldn't do it so easy now with all those assets and stations in conquerable 0.0. Good job they have the vast majority of 0.0 on their blue list really

MC plus revolving array of allies didn't have numerical superiority in any ship class, and didn't have sufficient force to create the game breaking lag BOB will. BOB have 2900 characters in their alliance alone .. at the core of their community of allies. At the time we had around 400 characters. BOB's allies have more or less 24 hour coverage and Titan support for logistics. We were Euro only and borrowed a BOB Titan for about two weeks total in the campaign.
MAX = BLOB .. that's it. Nothing clever, nothing subtle .. the only thing this measures is how many people they can get online under their FCs. And given the efforts they have made to recruit 'all the best PvPrs in EVE' consigning them to a blob like that wastes any skill they have.
If BOB are looking for fun and fights, I just don't get how copying Goons style blob tactics gets them there. If they REALLY want fights, they will break BOB down into multiple alliances and actually create a challenge for themselves rather than just a challenge for CCP's server hardware.

You conveniantly forget to mention that MC's attack on the North was supported by a considerable group of GBC Alliances.
It wasn't MC on their own up there at all. They had thousands helping them out in support fleets and joint cap operations. MC whoring their moms and titans before everyone got their own was just the icing on the cake.
MC's solo achievements can be summed up as:
- Defeating PVP powerhouse 'The Big Blue'

Between PL and IRON, they killed almost 100 of the 400 man GBC support blob. That's a quarter of their sub-cap fleet in the first night of their epic campaign. That's thread worthy if you ask me.

Moving that much support through 0.0 -- it was to be expected that losses were high. I'm suprised no one else tried to pick off straglers/lemmings. There were sooooo many.
As I said before, it's just a small drop in the ocean and once everyone is moved in and real ops start -- I'm sure they'll sharpen up. Whoever lost a BS can pickup a new one in Jita with the insurance isk after all...
Still, was good entertainment . Thanks for that, shame your US TZ op went through empire .

We have such a terrible history in PvP.
I've decided that both positive and negative comments about BoB are positive for us in the end.
Positive comments about how good we are or threads about us is good for e-peen stroking.
Negative comments about us may be less good for e-peen stroking temporarily, but if people have a low opinion about us and take more risks ingame, it will result in more kills for us. In the end, it will end up with e-peen stroking for us. |

This thread highlights why CAOD fails so much.
Good on BoB for getting on their bikes and participating in the Tour De NC, so you got taken to the curb, big deal. Corps/Alliances have forays into opposition territory for some fun all the time.
Good on IRON for catching them with their pants down.
A lot of the gloating that BoB lost some ships is pretty sad. People are just having some fun, if you got some hard-on for BoB you know where they live. ;)

Am I missing something? 20 ships lost to a DD that is all and people start circlejerking like firstgraders? Its more like an Exe-OP and some Exe-Petcorps (see Darius' post) come along and lose a big chunk of their Fleet while accomplishing nothing. If you ask them what happened they'll say they won and point on a random Killboard to show you they didnt realy lose much.

When its laggy, largely unplayable and very little fun you need to "win" the engagement otherwise you soon see numbers tailing right off, while I expect bob will be able to keep their numbers up for some time to come I think that they will quickly see the pets being a bit "too busy to come along tonight, but tomorrow I promise I will be there".
Mind you with fewer numbers the MAX thing would actually be a lot more effective.

i think the most win post was the pie chart to be honest; proof that bob+ petz failz, i don't pretend to "get" goons, but that piece of detective work PROOVEZ that max should be abandoned asap as it is obviously not any fun and the ship losses are unsustainable even in the short term,
looks like the petz were conned into carrying the weight of bobs war again....ohwait wasn't that some other epic forum conquering alliance?

As was stated several times before by me, CI was not formed to become a great space holding entity, originally CI (the new CI, which has no relation to the old CI, we just wanted to save a billion isk), was formed by Cora SPA and A-War to pirate around geminate, then OSHIT joined, we went to fountain and fought bruce, took two stations and lived in peace, Oshit and cora left to do other things, Slackers joined, we got really really bored of doing pos work (only like 4 people in total bothered doing it tbh), and in the end, while everyone in fountain was blue and you could afk through the fountain core in a freighter without a worry we began disbanding CI and moved out of 0.0 because we just didn't enjoy that type of game play.
However, note how we did this -before- we got our asses kicked, as opposed to people who suddenly don't like holding sov -after- they get their asses kicked.
I'd say CI did pretty well tbh :)
If I wanted to be a great space conquerer i'd apply to BoB, I wouldn't be in A-War, A-War is *not* the place for a great bright future in 0.0 sov holding, trust me :P

so the Band of Brothers Community lost 2 fleet battles with a bad Kill/loss ration in their famous new Campaign to cause MAXimal Damage to their Enemys. Though most of Bobs losses are from their Vassals I can't see how losing can be fun, when you have a backup of 100+ Capital Ships. Ofcourse you can spin it so you're always on the winning side but according to the old BOB standards "We're better than you" thats pretty funny. Maybe you'r new Motto should be "Athleast we're better than FREGE".
The only numbers I care about are 3-2-1-launch.. |

I don't say their Campaign failed it's just funny, all the spin after they tryed to blob out a system with Capital Ships, but got ownd by Cynojammers and their subcapitalfleet by Titans.

bs losses here and there... thats all you talk about, ill gladly offer a few battleships to evict you to empire..
but hey.. you saved a few 100mils :) ill enjoy loosing a few bs's, when i know theres a home that actually has a tower standing back home, to grind me some new ones :)
edit: but hey, atleast half of delve is invited for tea in your regions and most of the fighting back is here on CAOD
