Mostly I'm pretty much happy with Eve and its development... but one thing that routinely annoys me is waiting minutes for this damn website's pages to load!
I have a 3mb cable connection and everywhere else I go the web pages are virtually instant so why is here any different? Surely after a year they would have either sorted out why it seems to lag so much and pretty much all the time?
Anyone at CCP care to comment? -------------------------------------------

I live in the US and except for crappy cluster problems or patches, I never get a hitch, loads almost instantly for me.
To be honest, I thought there website performace was absolutely top notch.

What's even weirder is that I'm in the UK and supposedly nearer the servers.
Actually the game itself rarely lags for me (except when the server itself throws a wobbly).
I don't think it's my end as eve-online.com is the only website that is almost permanently on a 56k dial-up emulator -------------------------------------------

I notice that the forums load slower for me when I use Modzilla or Firefly. It works very fast when I use IE. Perhaps you could try different browsers.

I use IE and I'm in Scotland. It is perfect today, but at least once a week it always gets really sh*tty and slow and I can't get into the forums. Bizarre.

Modzilla, is that the mod squad version of Mozilla?
I use firebird myself (yes Firebird, old version since the new ones are renamed) and as I said, no trouble

uhm... you mean mozilla or firefox, right?
I use firefox, works fine... the website sometimes lags for me no matter what browser I use (sometimes I use IE (not volontarily though )).

It's not one of the snappier web sites, that's true, but it's mostly okay. I get the occasional glitch but nothing to get seriously worked up about. What I do dislike though is the lack of a search function and having to click twice to post a reply. I think the latter is because the first click logs you in. -- (Battle hardened miner)

Uggg now Eris lets not start hyping Microsoft products lol
IE works faster because Microsoft cheats with their ISS server which is what Im sure you guys are using. It is Optimized for IE. Did you know that Mozilla and Opera have to send a Fake string to the Microsoft product lying that they are IE to even work properly with your server software :( If you used Apache it would be Fair and smooth across all the browsers.
I speak from experience and am not criticizing you in any way.

I think you nailed it on the head.
Host: myeve.eve-online.com Server: Microsoft-IIS/5.0
It is a sad thing that other browsers have to send fake replies to IIS pretending to be IE. Hey CCP, hire some of us Geeks. We'll set you straight.

OK folks I don't care what your access speed is, or whether you view pages thru sparkly night bugs
I'm just ticked off that I pay 15.95 per mo. for this type of website performance, with all that equipment they added one would think this site would fly, I bet some of that equipment ended up under their beds.
Now I hear some crazy rumor about them branching out into gaming.
Stop griping about server instability and go buy an EVE mug!
Additionally with the purchase of each mug you will receive two(2) invisible Elves.

Yeah I get poor performance too. Always gets stuck on "Request queued for sending to blah blah". I always have to click forum links 5 or 6 times before it'll go through right away. Been this way since release. I'm in Canada, and it happened with 2 different ISP's both high speed providers.

The site is always slow for me, sometimes I cannot acces the main page at all, nor post, or access the account area, because the site is not found.

Then again... I'd rather have fast EVE Servers then a fast Webserver. Which do we care more about?

it`s the load on the database.
best example is eve-i site during server downtimes/hickups, unloadable.
now is eve-i only visited by a portion of players while they all come here first, full load on the services on this machine so loading time is terrible/time out.
most of the time it loads instantly but when more and more ppl come online the site slows down aswell for me.
also u can be on a 1000000mbit connection but if a router some where has an hickup or heavy traffic then ur stuck as ur connection doesn`t say everything
