We're down to 4.15 in my neck off the woods in NW US. $57 for the pickup (1/4 tank left), $34 for the jeep (half tank), $6.50 for the motorcycle.

Romania, around 4.4 to 4.6 RON per liter nowadays (about same price both for gasoline and diesel fuel) So, roughly around 2 USD per liter, or around 7.6 USD per gallon (more like 7.4 to 7.8 USD, but you get the idea).

HOWEVER, "regular" cars around here use between 4 to 6 liters per 100 km, so let's say 40 to 60 miles per gallon. So, you end up with a gas price (rounding to 8$/gallon and 50 mpg) of about 0.16 USD per mile on average (down to, say, 0.12 USD/mile if you're lucky and drive a slightly more economic car in a slightly cheaper area). How much does it cost per mile for wherever YOU live ?

Gas here in DC is about $4.35 per gallon, my wife's care gets between 35 and 40 MPG. SO 8-10 cents per gallon...not too bad really. Whenever I see one of those terrible hummer monstrosities driving through the city I just laugh now, because they're paying more in gas than it would cost to rent a normal car. ---------------- Play EVE: Downtime Madness v0.83 (Updated 7/3) |

In my area the price of gas has actually been falling for about 2 weeks, according to my mother the station near her work is at $3.93 now. -------------------------------- To borrow a phrase:

Well consider the US is in an economic ressession at the moment so we are generally feeling the pinch. -------------------------------- To borrow a phrase:

A side effect is that we also have some of the least fuel efficient cars, which until the past 8 years wasn't an issue since gas was $1-2 a gallon, and we generally commute to work more than Europeans. As a percentage of income, Americans and Europeans are impacted equally by high gas prices.
Thankfully I use public transit. ---------------- Play EVE: Downtime Madness v0.83 (Updated 7/3) |

Google is your friend.
More than that, from what I've seen all over the place. There was one station in Cornwall that set prices to what works out as $18/gallon during a recent tanker drivers' strike.

In the Toronto area, (Ontario, Canada) Gas is ~$1.25 per liter CAD CAD to USD is about $0.98 3.8L per US gallon = $4.66.
there was a couple of weeks at $1.34, but, crude came down. yay.
what I'd like to know is if others pay taxes on top of prices or are they included, as it is here. (approx 40 cents per liter is tax her)

Taxes (VAT, energy and carbon dioxide) constitute approximately 60% of the gas prices here in Sweden...

YOU LUCKY SUNUVA %$, wait, you said that it was $4.35 per gallon, then said 8-1 cents per gallon. I am confused, Why do people contradict themselves?

Anyway, $3.69 here. The aim of politics is to keep the populace alarmed and clamorous to be saved by menacing it with imaginary hobgoblins. The urge to save humanity is a false front for the urge to rule it. |

I commute 75 miles a day round trip, I would say that is slightly above average, but it's not extremely high. House prices in the UK mean a lot of folk have to live far from their work just to be able to afford a mortgage.
Public transport? Unless you live in London or live in a city and commute to another city, forget using public transport to commute.
I bought a diesel car to try and save money on fuel, but diesel seems to have rocketed out of proportion in the last year or so.

Prices vary a bit around the country and my local prices are a little higher, but unless you are quoting some strange colonial pound , (by your conversion rates) ú5.14 is infact US$10.20 and EU 6.56.
Also lets not forget that if you drive a diesel car instead of a petrol car you will be paying about 10% more for your fuel per gallon easily pushing the price over $11 a gallon.
Either way round I would like to see if anyone on these forums can beat that

UK here, drive 70 mile round trip to work every day. I am now doing something I've never done before and stick to the speed limit of 70mph on the motorway to enhance fuel efficiency. I am averaging 40mpg.
So, if I do 70 miles a day, that's 1.75 gallons or 7.9 litres (call it 8). 8 litres times 115 pence (per litre for unleaded) is ú9.20 a day commuting I really envy those people who can walk or cycle to work. I could technically cycle, but I would spend so much more time commuting... -- 2d EveMaps My blog
