I'm testing my hype on SiSi to see how the web changes might affect missions, and a mission came up that I haven't seen before, and can't find on eve-survival.org
(admin agent, lvl4 Q20 in 0.2 sec system, FIO, in Gal Space)
Is this a sign that some new missions are on the way, or should I just get out of my usual missioning are more often:
The low LP and reward suggest it might be new and hasn't been auto balanced yet. If it is a frigate swarm , then it will certainly test the new 50% webs.... :)

Mission briefing Engage the hostile fleet. Watch out for reinforcements. Kill as many as you can and then get out.
Overview and Objectives The following objectives must be completed to finish the mission:
Objective Eliminate the Angel swarm.
Rewards The following rewards and bonuses will be yours if you complete this mission: 196000 credits 201000 credits bonus inside 40 minutes, 1017 LP
Look out for the swarm. There are rumors of Angels attempting to overwhelm their enemies with massive swarms of simple, cheap ships. While these are just rumors, there may be some merit to their tactics. Be wary.

yep, massive frigate and dessie swarm, 65 dead so far, new spawn has some cruisers in it, I wonder if it just escalates slowly forever until you can't tank anymore. No probs tanking with shield and only used medium repper for a little bit so far. Webs work well enough, warrior IIs earning their keep today.

Then a big one with 11 Assault frigs, 8 BCs, 8 destroyers. Still no sign of completion...

Interesting.
As far as I can see from screenshot it's one stage mission ? Not some new multiple stage annoyance with 70+ km between gates and not enough targets to shoot.

Edited by: Daan Sai on 01/08/2008 08:31:03 Yes, one room only. But with trailing it takes some time to get back to trigger the next aggro. The spawns seem trigger aggro once you get within 100km of the trigger ship, what ever that is.
All up: 127 rats, plenty of targets, but had trouble getting bounties up to 2mill/update. Im sure a missile spamming Raven could do better. A tank Domi should cruise this one, and not even have to move too much.

Smaller screenshot later in the mission, going to be a pain to salvage, probably wont bother. Also a lot of ammo/time is used on small ships to isk/hr isn't going to be very high until later on.
Last BSs
What a mess.
Overall, OK as long as you don't mess up and let a spawn overrun you while another appears. My hype only goes 137m/s on SiSi now, and it was OK. Large 425s could hit incoming small ships when they were using their cheating MWDs, and small/med drones took care of close stuff.
If you don't move out promptly, you could be overwhelmed. Web was useful, but not spectacular.

Edited by: Daan Sai on 01/08/2008 11:29:02 Not great, but better than drone missions :) I fit for tank as I didn't know the mission, so I was slow and I didn't get the time bonus which was set at 40 minutes, the reward was 186200 isk.
In 20 minute bounty updates: 335410.8 519950.2 1445486.75 1916630.7 2226562.5
for a total a shade over 6.4 million in bounties.
I didn't salvage in the end, couldn't face 127 wrecks spread over 150km... :)
So not an amazing money spinner unless the salvage is good, and drones are a good idea as they'll save a lot of ammo.

It's an Angel mission, the salvage is good. In fact, judging from the amount of Angel wrecks, it's propably worth more than the mission reward and the bounties combined.

Salvaging another level 4 with angel in for a friend has made 22 million so far with plenty of sell orders left to run, that had about the same number if not less wrecks than this so I think it would definitely be worth salvaging it.

To tell the truth, there wasn't any apparent lag, even on SiSi.
My guess is that the npc rats don't even check what the other rats are doing, they all just focus on you or your drones, so there isn't a huge n to n interaction like a fleet battle, just an n to 1 process that is not too bad lag wise.

My point was, missions like this are NOT going to help the situation in places like Motsu where there's a billion missions spawned at once.
