You two have so many programs running in your system tray - you'd probably get better performance with Eve if you turned most of those off before you started Eve (or, better yet, stopped them from running at start up altogether).

I'm gonna get stoned, but I like the telly tubbies XP themes :p
If I get time, I'll probably customise my desktop some more, but heres what it looked like a couple of days ago. Its mostly the same now. Oh, and the image isn't mine, I couldn't claim to be even close to that talented

I remove stuff i dont from the Startup list on my pc.
All ive got left now is;
-Zonealarm / Norton
-Nvidea screen manager thing (Adds a bunch of handy options that i use a lot)
-Keyboard/Mouse program needed for the extra buttons on my mouse and keybord.
-MSN, Mozilla and Quicktime quickstart icons are perhaps a waste of system power but my cpu rarely goes above 30 %when Eve, PhotoShop, SmartFTP, Firefox, MSN and Winamp all at once without problems 
I of course have never been in +100 ship battles so i dunno how it will perform there.

I currently have no problems with eve - so I don't need to remove any of it :)

I've got a fairly decent PC but I can't play Eve windowed without CPU usage being a constant 60% and jumping to 100% when warping to gates/stations.
