I remove stuff i dont from the Startup list on my pc.
All ive got left now is;
-Zonealarm / Norton
-Nvidea screen manager thing (Adds a bunch of handy options that i use a lot)
-Keyboard/Mouse program needed for the extra buttons on my mouse and keybord.
-MSN, Mozilla and Quicktime quickstart icons are perhaps a waste of system power but my cpu rarely goes above 30 %when Eve, PhotoShop, SmartFTP, Firefox, MSN and Winamp all at once without problems 
I of course have never been in +100 ship battles so i dunno how it will perform there.

I currently have no problems with eve - so I don't need to remove any of it :)

How can u have so many icons on there?, have u ever heard of self organisation...folders......

Might as well go the whole hog ... recently I went and customised a lot of the looks of my computer and ended up with new wallpaper, bootscreen, login and 'windows'.
First is the actual desktop: Linkage.
Here's a closeup of the changed 'windows'.
Two matrix bootscreens, a random one used each startup: Linkage.
Took a few images and merged/blended them to make myself a nice new login: Linkage.
Problem then was I hate static wallpapers, that is having the same one load each time I login ... so I have a cycling program that randomly loads 1 of 157 wallpapers each time I login. Here's the thumbnails, not all shown are used : Linkage, they are all either stretched or centred with a black desktop. The reason there's so many is each time I find an image I like I add it to the list .

once you copy pasted the icons from eve, you can change it at the properties of the backgrounds. Can't explain it in English, since my OS is Dutch.

Frank, I can send you the icons via e-mail if you give me your address. Alternatively, I can tell you how...
1. Download IconDeveloper from here, it's free.
2. Go into EVE and take a screenshot of the desired image.
3. Go into your photo editor and crop/resize so that you have a square picture of the icon. If you need a photo editor, you can get a trial of Photoshop CS here, but it's quite a big download (151MB).
4. Save as a .jpg or .png file (use .png if you want transparency in the icon)
5. Use this tutorial to turn it into a .ico file with IconDeveloper
6. Go to display properties in control panel, then to the desktop tab, then choose 'Customize Desktop...'. From there you can change the icons of the recycle bin, my computer, network etc. To change a shortvut's icon, just go to its properties and click change icon.

The basics are actually incredibly easy to learn. I d/l it a week or so (before my time got stolen by exams and Xetic war). If you look up you'll see my desktop. Thats the first attempt I've had a desktopX, its only the basic stuff, not had a chance to do anything with reskinning windows etc. Only took about 2 hours from start to finish, no tutorials. If you d/l similar things that you want from wincustomize.com you can take a look at the objects themselves to see how its done, deconstruct them and use the knowledge to construct your own.
There is a pdf tutorial/user manual, but it didnt seem that useful, so I haven't read it
When the exams are over hopefully I'll be able to have a crach at some of the more complex things.

I know. Trust me.
However, last time I tried enabling it, it caused EVE to consistently crash or freeze my pc. So until I figure out where the problem with it is, it stays off.
And as I am lazy, and easily convert to whatever works...

His desktop is nothing compared to my desktop... can't show it though - I don't want to show my icons, and posting a picture with a black box taking up 95% of it doesn't seem like a good idea...
