Ever since this thread was posted in May 2008... http://oldforums.eveonline.com/?a=topic&threadID=776918 ... new alliances have not been able to submit alliance logos for use in game.
As an alliance creator I often get asked by customers about the alliance logo submission process and many are very dissappointed that there has been no updates/news on this since the original CAOD post 3 months ago.
Some new alliances have put real effort into creating their brand identity and really want the pleasure of seeing their creations in the game when they log in.

Anyway, I want your support to raise this as an issue. I don't want to demand huge amounts of developer/programmer time I simply want to get an update from CCP on where we are in this process and a 'rough' deadline for when this issue will be resolved.

Logos via api would be great but not as vitally important as getting a process for new ones again. We submitted ours before the old process was removed but never heard anything.

I submitted our alliance logo in May this year, and two months later (or so) they removed the option to submit logos and nothing's happened since. Though it seems to be a symptom of a bigger problem, I wish it would be addressed. |

It's certainly an odd one. I don't see why there's a simple page to upload the image, it gets view and if it's okayed it automatically gets put in the next patch, no matter how minor.

we subbmitted our alliance logo via teh old system. was told it would go live in the next content patch. only for it not to go it and to be told we would have to resubmit it.
6 months later we are still waiting for someone to get there thumb from somewhere very dark and get the 'new' system sorted

Not only is it frustrating to have no idea about when alliance submissions will be available again. We had ours submitted under the old system, pending review for 6 months before that system was wiped and a post was put up about Alliance logo submissions being on hold.
Lets hope our support for the CSM and this thread can help get something done about very serious problem sooner, rather than later.
This is more important than restoring peoples Dreadnoughts in high-sec

As an alliance creator I often get asked by customers about the alliance logo submission process and many are very dissappointed that there has been no updates/news on this since the original CAOD post 3 months ago.
Some new alliances have put real effort into creating their brand identity and really want the pleasure of seeing their creations in the game when they log in.

Anyway, I want your support to raise this as an issue. I don't want to demand huge amounts of developer/programmer time I simply want to get an update from CCP on where we are in this process and a 'rough' deadline for when this issue will be resolved.

Definately. I <3 alliance logos, when they first came into being I was highly impressed - particularly as, in a way, it's CCP supporting player made content...
I get that once it caught on, it must be problematic to keep up with (afaik it's not just a matter of submission, someone on the art team actually fiddles with it to make it more inline with the EVE npc corporation logos in terms of font etc?)
But I'd say it's important - both for immersion and creativity, CCP supporting the players, and EVE doing something different.

Remember how long it took for New Character Portraits to be fixed? This is a lot like that minus the need for a heavy duty box dedicated to processing all the portraits.
Hire ANOTHER full time artist to process these pretty user created pictures.
