FFS just end it already. Nobody likes mining. No, not even you who is about to rage about removing it, since I already know that the second you start mining in your hulk up in high sec, you go afk so that you can do something else while you "play the game" waiting for lasers to cycle.
Just end it already. Let missions be the primary source of minerals, there's not a single one that you can't get from missions anyway!
As far as Ice mining goes, it's terrible, just seed the fuel on the market from NPC vendors.

I'm down for this. When i started eve i maxed out my hulk/orca skills *cringe*. i'd love to put that SP into combat

Not everyone plays the game the way YOU think it should be played. I mine BECAUSE I can do other things at the same time. I LIKE being able to further myself in the game and still be able to deal with RL things, as needed. So, stfu and play YOUR game and quit trying to change it for everyone else. Normally, just trolling. But tis true, most minerals on the market have come from reprocessed mission loot or drone poo. Miners who think they are the backbone of the economy just want to feel good, they want to think that they are helping the playerbase as a whole by wasting their time on a low source of income/ |

No, I can't explain why because I don't understand it either.
The simple point being, some people like mining just as much as you like to blow them up. Missions can get tedious after a while and sometimes people want to sit back, relax and make some isk while watching a movie. |

But if you remove mining, then players will find other ways to make isk. Ways which require some form of cranial activity. And the vegetables who are genuinely only capable of mining will quit, thus improving the average IQ of the playerbase greatly. |
