... For a while.
Look, this is great and all... Admittedly I spend most of my time manufacturing stuff, mining a bit. Providing the Faction Warfare dudes with ships to blow up...
Then occasionally I'll run a level 4 in its entire monotony, Go here, Blow up these dudes, Get the damsel. Earn 10m, loot.. salvage.. Do it all again until it gets so boring I just log for the night.
PVP is okay but only for as long as I can afford it, I only fly cruisers but the cost stacks up...
EVE is nice, as far as space MMOs go.
But when CCP do incredibly daft things, then refuse to explain themselves.. or rather, just DELETE posts...
I start to doubt their motives a bit.
I kinda question what they're up to. Are we seriously going to have Hello Kitty Online in Space now?
Are we getting capitals out of High Sec because they "arent supposed to be there" or because we're afraid the noobs won't like to be near anything bigger than a raven?
As far as this logic goes, i'll tell you want isn't meant to be in High Sec.
Freighters, Jump Freighters, Suicide Ganking, Hulks that strip belts in 20 minutes, Command Ships, Stealth bombers, Can baiting in newbie systems.
All of these things aren't supposed to be in super-fuzzy-friendly 1.0 sec space, they pose threats or are overpowered for that area of space.
Not nearly as much threat as an Amarr Dreadnought with Mining Lasers fitted though. What the hell does that do except mine 'roids? If it does anything wrong, CONCORD will blow the shit out of it. Its quite simple.
By the way, since this decision is ignoring backstory, lets get that Titan out of Luminaire shall we? Those aren't supposed to be in High Sec because they apparently **** up the tides of any planets they're local to but it appears to be in High Sec anyway.
I'm not even going to go into the execution of the "Nano Nerf" or how Level 4s still haven't been addressed concerning risk/reward...

Come to think of it, I still have an active City of Villains subscription I share with my friends. Haven't picked that up in a while since it's a pile of ridiculously poor design, but at least the players can't build anything up just to get the shit kicked out of it for no reason.

Yeah. I'm seriously starting to think that I may need to find a new game.
I have a lot invested in Eve, but with the way they keep hurting players for no good reason...well, it's starting to look like I'm gonna lose that investment one way or the other in any case. --------

FYP
Someone actually made a wheel of nerf flash a few days ago, IIRC. cba to look for it (it'll turn up). I think hisec capitals were on it. ... No, that definitely can't be the reason. __________________________________ CCP, WTH?

I went back to WoW for a couple of months earlier this year - all I can is - don't.
All the things that made classic WoW a great game for me are, for the most part, gone. I could go on for a page about the hows and the whys, all I'll say though is that for a themepark not-completely-easymode raiding game I'm holding out for Aion (was going to try WAR but I'm stuck in Afghanistan atm and you can't really play most MMOs other than Eve with 3-4s lag). It doesn't help that everyone, without exception, that I raided with back when the game was new is gone now - it's like the AOL of MMOs, it feeds off noobs and when there are no more noobs their business model will collapse.
Of course I'll still play Eve - Eve is a great game in its own right and can be played with a light time commitment if you want to take a break :) ---

Well, not quite. A hi-sec cap isn't allowed to engage in any sort of combat, whether legal or not. Allegedly, Chribba's did.

You mean where someone tried to suicide him and got Concordokened? That's not engaging in combat. That's watching the other guy get Concordokened.
EDIT: Besides, it's not just Chribbas's Dreadnought. Every hi-sec cap has been moved. --------

Don't do this. Honestly.
Leave the stuff hanging about the cargobay, gather dust and your clone in your bay.
Trust me, you don't want to jump to harsh decicions and then come back a year later with a very long tail between your legs.

Sure, people can - other players - that's what makes the game great. Getting stuff randomly wiped by the developers is a little different though, no? __________________________________ CCP, WTH?

Oh i know, i'm like that too, and i do what i do when i do, but i'm saying there's no harm in leaving your stuff to rot somewhere.
I've seen ti countless times and even the strongheaded of us sometimes feel "nostalgic" and then realise "hey, i like it back here", before the "oh crap what did i do?!" sets in.
Like i said, no harm in leaving the stuff around and just cancelling subscription. It'll wait there, indefinetaly, and if you choose to return(or not), it's better to come to a full bay then an empty one.

Thanks for the link. this does look really interesting. Especially this "In Infinity, you are directly controlling your ships movements and weaponry in a twitch-based way, targeting your every movement. Your own skills and dexterity as a player make the difference, not a list of stats or skills on your character sheet!"
I do feel sometimes that this game is going down hill and people at ccp are moving away from what made eve great. Looking out for other space mmo's. But i have loads invested in eve and i wont be leaving any time soon

yeah I take breaks all the time (ok 2 times) and you can just come back later when maybe it gets good again. even if that's like 4 years.

don't expect to pilot interesting captial ships though. this sort of combat means you won't be able to really fly a capital ship.

Infinity poses a massive threat as the devs seem to have looked at what EVE players want, and put it into Infinity.
For example, Planetary Flight and being able to paint your ship.
Some players will jump on the twitch combat, newtonian physics and compliance to astrophysics. Sense of scale appears to be very good.
Oh, and judging by the concept art and renders... the ships aren't 80% Ugly design abominations either.

Yes and also by the fact that you will posssibly be able to own your own planet, station, city etc Also it will have planet interaction from the start so i will be very interested.
