this is my navy raven setup i was wondering if anyone had any advice on how to make it better and how it would do on soloing lvl 4's.
x7 Arbalest siege launchers x1 Drone link augmentor
x1 t2 x-large shield booster x2 t2 invul fields x1 t2 kinetic hardener x1 t2 em hardener x1 t2 passive thermal amplifier
x3 t2 BCU x2 t2 cpu enhancers
x2 t1 hydralic bay thrusters - increase max missle velocity x1 t1 rocket fuel cache partition - increase max missile flight time
x7 t2 med drones "hammerheads"
i have a 45km torp range. a 77km drone range and my resists are 72% em, 74% exp, 83% kin, 73% thermal. with 14765 shields and 6972 cap. and a 6sec rate of fire with my 7 launchers. how do you think this will do on lvl 4 missions. any suggestions on making it better?

7 x Cruise II (Using CN Missiles)
1 x CN X-Large Booster 1 x Shield Boost Amp II 4 x Active Hardeners (Missions Specific)
2 x BCU II 3 x PDU II
5 x Hammerhead II 5 x Hobgoblin II
3 Shield Related Rigs
This Solo's all Level 4's without issue. Once you learn the missions you won't even need to use the booster on some of them! You only have problems if you managed to attract aggro from too many groups in some missions.
Torps are nice'n'all but you have to get close(and takes the damage that comes with that) and without a Target Painter you will be wasting damage and still not getting full damage in missions where there are plenty of smaller stuff.
Good Luck.

My suggestion is don't use T1 torps. Period. Javelins are just too important. Fitting t2 torps can be difficult, but it's worth it if you have the training and ISK. Go with something like this, and adjust to fit your preference:
[Raven Navy Issue, New Setup 1] Caldari Navy Ballistic Control System Caldari Navy Ballistic Control System Caldari Navy Ballistic Control System True Sansha Power Diagnostic System True Sansha Power Diagnostic System
Caldari Navy Shield Boost Amplifier Pith A-Type Large Shield Booster Phased Weapon Navigation Array Generation Extron Caldari Navy Heat Dissipation Field Caldari Navy Photon Scattering Field Caldari Navy Invulnerability Field

I would stay with your highs Train launcher rigging to at least 4
I would change the mids to
2x Invuln II 1x XL Booster II 1x SBA II 2x PWNAGE
For the lows if you still need cpu then no real choice, but if you can switch one out for a pdsII or a dcII
For drones I would use
2x Berserker SW-900 1x Berserker TP-900
These drones will make catching bs's that hove outside range easy, plus the extra tp is always nice with torps.
Or you can drop a pwnage and add a LIF AB, but to do this you might need to change your 3 BCS to CN BCS's. And I would change to one SW drone and two TP drones.

PvE CNR
Comment on mids: XL booster for sure, then fit a mission-specific tank using 4 slots as per http://eve-survival.org/tanking.html
Now you can either add one more mid for extra tank, or fit an AB, depending on whether the mission is short-range or has long pulls to gates.
Comment on highs: similar thinking - missions with short-range engagements, torps or cruise II's are great. long ranges? CN cruises or normal cruises.
Comment on rigs: 3 x CCC I's. You'll need the cap recharge rate plus careful use of the XL booster in busy missions. Don't leave home without 'em.
Comment on lows: with perfect cpu skills, you want 2 x bcu, 3 x pds. But you probably need to give up a pds for a cpu module.
Hopefully all of this is tech II..
Use medium scout II drones for frigates.
The CNR is a fast solo level 4 ship, but you can still get one blown up if you don't take targets out in the right order. Download "Level 1 Mission Survival.PDF" if you don't already have it..

Your ship would die pretty quickly in some missions.
First of all use cruise missiles. Torps would be better in theory, but in practice covering the distances towards the targets takes far more time.
Ideally, you would be using dread or cn cruise launchers, but t2 will do.
Tank:
What I'd recommend for a low-isk beginners solution would be: xl shield booser, boost amplifier, a gistii b-type small shield booster (~8mil or less theese days), an invul field and 2 rat-specific hardeners. The philosophy is using the small booster heavily to buy cheap shields capwise, and the XL sparingly to avoid shield failure.
Lows: I'd seriously recommend using only 2 or even one bcu until you get the hang of missions, while using either cap flux coils, PDU's or even a DCU in the lows. After running a few dozen missions you will know if and when more bcu's are viable.
Rigs: Semiconductor memory cell I is the best rig you could use without a perma-boosting (expensive) shield booster, plus it helps if you run missions vs the energy neutralizing blood raiders. Otherwise, you can use the universally acceptable CCC rigs.

Torps work fine on CNR also. Well as long as pilot is not from the 'permatank' school of tought. Needs T2 launchers tho and some faction equipment to make it all fit with 3 rigs granting more torp range. Effectivity is also dependant on your missionrunning region, as that determines against what pirate faction you get your missions on regular basis. In some regions is's faster than cruise CNR on avreage.
I myself prefer ofc cruise on my CNR(s) with missile signature rigs as in my region 1/3 rd of missions offered to me would be slower with torps by large enough margin to negate any speed advantages I gain doing suitable 2/3 rd of missions faster.

I use:
7 x Caldari Navy Cruise Launcher[Cn Cata/Wrath] 1 x DG 350 Rail
1 x Kaikka's Xl Shield booster[ 820 boost(ish) for about 280 cap) 1 x Copasetic Shield Amp 3 x Dread Guristas Harders 1 x Dark Blood Heavy Cap Injector[800]
1 x Internal Damage Control 2 x Power Diagnostic II 2 x BCU II
1 x CCC RIG 2 x Shield Capacitor Rigs
I have shield compensation level 5.
I would highly recommend a lower using shield booster, i used to use the domination but considering it boosted less than its cl-5 counter part i changed it.
