Silly of them putting a big target marker on that constellation for all those shooty shooty types. Nothing gets them all excited like someone saying we kill all pirates. Of course I said this much when you convoed me for some advice on the matter. I also pointed out the simple mechanics here: No targettable assets or pilots, war is pointless. If they wanted something, they offer something. Demands go nowhere and simply outs your sweet little carebear heaven. For all you pirates: That is ZANKA . Spelled with a Z. Many carebear uber alliance ass kickers there. Have fun. PS: Thanks for posting the chat log. Adds some spice considering the chat we had at the same time.

Hehe... way to overemphasize.. hehe... I might go there and sell a few ships or something....

Edited by: Kvander Godalming on 07/09/2008 03:10:41 OK, seriously, I am unable to follow CCCP's thinking here.
They are beginning with the following axiom: that Zanka should be safe for newbies. Sounds reasonable.
Yet from this they logically derive a prohibition on selling or mining in that system? I would draw their attention to the definition of the phrase "logically fallacy" -- an inability to logically follow the causal order. Their B simply does not follow from their A.
What precisely are newbs supposed to do with their safety if not mine or sell?

Originally by: Keen2KillU Well i must agree with CCCP Inc on this subject. They spend alot of times keeping Mofa a safe environment for newer players to mine, run missions and market trade. Over the past years they have cleaned up the area for the newer player sake and brought a good name to the Anti-pirate cause.
I feel his mail to you was justified and polite asking you to please not sell anything there which will attract pirate wannabe's to the area and interfere with newer players life. All you have to do is go there and remove the items from sale and sell them 2 jumps away, not a big ask. Also you will probably find you will get more sales from somewhere like Amarr where most people in the area go shop.
Personally i want to slap you myself for causing a major issue out of this and cause termoil in a safe area for newer players. Obviously you are just a self centered weiner and got you head stuck up your own butt hole. Dude just go there and remove the items for your own sake as you don't want them to war dec you and ruin your game play. Believe me i know if you get war dec'd it wont be for a couple of weeks long it will be months and months till you beg for forgiveness.
Just do whats right and shift the items and all this will go away.
Keen2killU, apparently the market is missing some items so I will contract you a "clue". They don't own the station, they don't own the trader - the only control they can exercise is over their own bladders. I would recommend they abstain from ****ing into the wind - It tends to make your shoes wet.

Edited by: Tasko Pal on 07/09/2008 03:38:34 Ok, I lied. When I went there, they had this city, soldiers, and stuff. I thought, huh, these guys might be worth something. Certainly, my strut down the center of town must have impressed the locals.
So anyway, I made my corp's offer to their CEO: For a token bit of land and earth, we'd recognize their right to exist as an appendage of Heron Corporation might. For some odd reason, this got him upset. Next thing I know, he's yelling "THIS IS ZANKA!" and throwing me down some bottomless hole. I wake up in my usual medical center. OUCH.
Now I know the usual response is to send a million man army and crush all hope forever. But dang, that's a bit expensive. I think I'll send some snippy message instead. Smack is cheaper as we all know.

Before everyone goes on a Jihad over a MWD marked up 200%, let me put a few points into perspective.
Every area of space in EVE has a finite amount of resources. Although Mofa has many belts and agents available for the community to use freely and prosper, we want to make sure that these resources are not completely drained and stripped. In order to preserve some of the resources and thus the livelihood of the area, we ask that only one system is off limits from mining. Mining is freely allowed in every other system, as are ratting, missioning, manufacturing, etc. By dedicating ourselves to the community and our home, we keep much of this area relatively safe as long as the inhabitants exercise common sense.
As traders, do you not expect some profit for your time and commitment to move and sell goods appropriately? Absolutely. By that same logic, should we not be allowed to reserve a few non-barren belts for our own mining while spending the day patrolling and protecting all other inhabitants over several other systems? I believe that is just.
If you would like to argue that we should do it for free and forget our livelihoods as well, then why are you not giving away your goods for free in local out of the goodness of your heart? Or perhaps be selling your goods for material cost after manufacturing them and hauling them 20 jumps? Everyone has a purpose and a job, and everyone needs to make a living. We have a solid community. There are a few rules to keep the peace. If you still have a strong desire to disrupt this peace, pay us a visit. It won't be the first time, nor the last.

Even though the rest of the thread is particilarly hilarious but if you don't mine then why the tough guy antics on "no mining in Zanka"?
And how exactly does this quote

jive with the entirety of R3dskull's first post? I understand their 'rules' mention local chat specifically but for someone so worried about 'politeness' his first post sure seems pretty hypocritical..

I agree that this is more COAD however moving it there would lead to mass nuking of the thread. Moderators don't follow "when & where" posts were made so if it got moved to COAD... the subsequent action would be that everyone who chooses not to list a corp would be post facto moderated. For the guys in CCCP talking about how nice and kind they are: I agree. Kudos to you for the years that you were doing people a good thing. Sadly those days are gone when your CEO resorts to strong arming compliance. That isn't doing something good, that's just doing what you like because you believe you can. It is the behavior of tyrants. Since this is the market forum, we are probably going to ruin your markets. If this were C&P, we'd likely be flying around in local right now. One favorite tactic, the surgical recon striker. Love that one myself. Float around cloaked for hours and then come back, see local empty but for a miner here and there, and go about chasing people into the station. Then go back to floating around quiet. Tends to destroy the comfort zone of people real fast. See, Redskull mistakenly thought that just because some of us engage in capitalism that we do not pvp. It is a rare treat to see someone so loudly proving how clueless they are. See y'all in local.

Red, I wanted to point out that you are not only lacking in the common English skills to present a decent case, but you are also out of your mind if you think you can impose anything in EVE with just words.
When that system finally has your name under the listing of Sovereignty: I will take more of what you say seriously. In the mean time, understand that your attempts to scare us with permanent war-decs and killboard huffing and puffing only entices those of us with the years of experience. Years spent removing WoW type rabble such as yourself from systems and generally from the game.
You tried to stir the hornets nest and caused a stampede, prepare to get trampled. ______________________________________________________

Yeah? I don't recall the real life CCCP following free market principle, so why am I not surprised that these line of thinking is here?
But you know what? It would be interesting to see how a corporation impose a communism type of market.

I have played EVE now for about seven months, and all of it in Mofa. It is a nice system with great people looking after each other. For the protection and help that CCCPI provides, I have no problem with the few requests they have. Every once in a while a very courageous but stupid pirate will visit, get blown up and not come back again (Except for the really dumb ones). And without CCCPI helping in that regard, Mofa will be a nasty place. I think that Izlea totally over reacted, and is blowing everything out of proportion. Why anybody wants to sell anything in a system that is hardly ever visited, I do not understand, especially at the horendously inflated prices she asks. Just move the stuff and leave us alone to play the game we like the way we want to. And thanks again to CCCPI for all the support and help, we in Mofa really appreciate it.

Hi All. I am a trader and a newbie for the past three months. Fighting skills are about zero. I get podded every now and again when moving in and around "OTHER" systems. (I Like venturing into 0.0 and thats the price of it) However, when running out of money frequently (while enjoying the game) I can rely on the CCCPi guys for protection in Moffa. There have been so many times when I was saved(by a warningabout pirates or unknwons) (or revenged after a pirate did shot me down) by them, that I totally willing comply with their requirement on not mining and trading out of Zanka. From a Neighbour system this is not really affecting me. And since no selling is taken place there, they come to the Neighbour system (Faswiba) to buy. (good for all traders). At the end of the day, they deliver an excellent service and I mucho apreciate their presence and strategy. You can try to run into one of the real pirate systems and you get killed without getting asked a question. At least in Zanka, you are free to roam and unless you proof to be a pirate (or disobey their rules) you will be safe.
Its human to want the things you can't have. Its also human to set rules for things you want to protect. (and like in any free country, if you dont like their rules... get out, and find one you DO like).
I will (with my little frigate and my small laser turret) defenitely side with CCCPi in any war that is declared against them. Until then, I have some good shit for sale (very cheaply) in Faswiba).

TBH , if i want to make some more mess , i would rather post it in CnP instead MD. The starting of the post is ok ( from my point of view ) until CCCP arrived , smack talking and post with a bit rude attitude.

You saying we are smack talking? You really are a fool arnt you.
All we have done is defend our position in this post and try to explain what we do and why we do it, and u call it smack??
There have been several posts now from ppl who live in the area we police/protect and not one of them have had a bad word to say against us, and since this forum post has gone up, myself and my ceo have been getting mails from people asking to come live in MOFA under the defence of us anti-pirates in the area.
So really other than you sticking your head into a hornests nest and you will get stung, you have done us a favor attracting more locals to come live and reside in our space, Thank you we couldnt have done a better job our selfs.
And for those of you who are going to come down and put stuff on the market, dont waste your time, its pointless and it wont sell. As as for ppl coming down to scan the moons to see if they have any good minerals ur fail on epic proportions, its a 0.4 numb nuts, only in 0.1 and below can you moon mine.

Epic, calling someone else numb nuts when prove you don't know what you are talking about either. In case reading is too difficult for you it was speculated that CCCPI is being the way it is to protect POS's. Who knows why the strong arm tactics are being used more importantly who cares?
I just know that I really don't care if it is a waste of time. I'm going to enjoy turning Zanka into a more robust market. I've also noted its location in the jump planner and with my skills, and other people's skills, it makes for a very very good way point.
So, OP, thank you for bringing this system to light. |

It's pretty hilarious how the market discussion people in this thread are acting like bullies. Granted these guys written English skills are a bit lacking, but truthfully they set up an anti pirate area for new players to have a bit of freedom, and you all see that as somehow a threat or something? If they had some profitable enterprise and were acting like big mouthed jerks to defend it I could why you'd feel a need to act like going afk in a recon proves how tough you are.
Also a lot of people are making comments like "should've bought that 1m isk mod huh noob haha lolerskates" are you really stupid enough to believe that? The moment they commit to buying overpriced mods to keep the market bare, people will start seeding that market like crazy.
So really. You guys are pretty tough for picking on people who like to help new players. We're all real impressed.
