Today i was in a fleetbattle in uq, and i lost a ship, that isnt the issue ships are easy to replace.
But lately the lag has grown so sewere, that you cannot do anything.
Now before you say its my pc, i can assure you i have a very very powerfull pc, and a connection of 1024 Mb.
I have seen nothing of the promises from ccp, that this problem would be solved.
Normally i can have fraps running+ multiple programs in the background, since the lag had been bad lately, i had closed everything except my ram monitor.
I had NO memloss, and no package loss, I could not turn on anything i couldnt even move.
This is not accepteble odds, if you cannot play even with my setup, then there is something very very wrong here.
I would put in my setup here, but i will not give away any secrets.
This is not the enemies fault, since i suspect the lag was as sewere for them as for me.
Not one of my modules did turn on, i couldnt move, and i was over 60Km from my enemies, i was not webbed, i was not scramblet, i was indeed multiple jammed, but that has no effect on speed
Please due not flame, but share your experience here. So Say I. Einheriar Ulrich of the Bloodline of Einheriar.

did you warp out and back in again?
I find that if im in the grid from the begining im ok, but if i warp back in i tend not to load and if i do load i cant move either.
I have an uber computer..but a 56k line that connects at around 32kb/s
But anyways something needs to be done about the lag, but i would perfer to have the devs coding new content than fixing lag related issues. Lags a *****, but boredoms even worse

Well I hate to agree with the other side... but the lag when you warp in... and your ship disembarks from warp... and the space is empty and you can't move and you arne't in warp anymore and you can't activate modules... then when it does it gives you a replay of what would happen if you had warped in without fighting... lol... it's sad to say but it's something that happened to me too... and i'm not complaining that i was destroyed... but that the lag was bad enough i couldn't even turn on a shield hardner.... :-\ or shield booster ... cuz i was pressing "alt + F1-F3" over and over...
It might be a 60k warp in though... since i warped in at that distance as well... hmmm weird... wish we could have more than 5 people on choas to test this.... I would get our guys on to try to replicate it....
Anyways I agree that this might be something that needs to be looked into given it happens to both sides...

Hmmm not helping JC, it was not my setup and it is not my pc.
The hardwareupgrade hasnt solved anything, in fact i think its getting worse.
This is not a thread to flame ccp or to be flamed, i need your input OC.
What are your problems and experience with lag. So Say I. Einheriar Ulrich of the Bloodline of Einheriar.

Loading "Show Info" and anyones pictures is taking a bit longer than before, that's for sure.
The "Entering Space" animation bar scroll thingy runs for a little longer when loading a system/station too.

The loading has increased yes.
What strikes me as odd, is the complete, modules not turning on, totaaly froezen screen, and when your pod appear no problem.
I know that Pod¦s are super agile and warp instantly, but during fleetbattles pod¦s also suffer under lag, but not at this engament, it was as something was wrong with the ship itself.
There must be something in the code thats causing this.
I have just tested my machine, no problems, no faults whatsoever.
So Say I. Einheriar Ulrich of the Bloodline of Einheriar.

I havent been in any fleet battles but for example my show info and entering space is about the same as before. Login is better but thats about it. Market is ok. Escrow is ok. Cant comment on large scale battles or even smaller ones since I havent been int hem since hardware upgrade. Obviously the hardware has gotten better (Although I dont know much about IBM's chipset).
The advice I can give to them on their new servers is to add more RAM. 2.5GB and 16GB respectively for the sol's and sql's is not enough in my opinion.

My lag got really bad yesterday when around a few other people, it was generally ok by myself though i deleted the cache and everything worked ok again after that not one lag problem since, I find myself having to delete my cache every few days at the momant, I don't think its supposed like that.

Loading space in an empty system I can easily stop my ship warping back to where I logged out.
I haven't been able to do that at all today.

There is something wrong, and as you say Joshua, i can always do the same, but today.
I have before been in battles with well over 100 peeps in local, lag was there, but nothing like this, we where around 40 peeps in local, and i hava e just learned that the lag was as bad on the enemies side, and they where at a fixed position. So Say I. Einheriar Ulrich of the Bloodline of Einheriar.

The lag I experience since the hw upgrade when engaging a handful of npc's resembles a medium fleet battle :(

If you had a clue, you'd appreciate how bad the situation is in PvP and lag.
Comments like that suggest you don't have a clue however. :/ Reverend Necrona |

Let me give you some grasp on the situation here...
SA and CA agreed on a 2hr cease-fire because of the lag issue, both side couldnt do ANYTHING some people activated their modules after 30s or so, but everyone was getting ass-spanked by the lag monster....
Now as you can see, for CA and SA to have a ceasefire for ANY REASON is outrageous, but for it to be lag, then it MUST be bad...

Wow Aneu, that IS serious. I've been busy the past couple days so I haven't been able to experience any fleet lag, but I know how horrible it was before. I doubt the real problem was ever fixed with this new server upgrade. I hope CCP fixes this lag soon and not "SoonÖ."

shortly after the battle in UQ i was at a gate with an alliance member approaching the gate.
for no reason the game lagged out, ship stopped responding to commands, modules would not activate etc.
i asked the guy with me and he said i was still in game and my ship had changed course like i had instructed it to, so it was still working at server side, however my client wasnt updating or responding at all. had to relog to fix it.
any ideas whats going on ccp? as its getting pretty bad.

Maybe the client isn't sending certain signals to the server which is why maneuvring is sorta working but modules aren't?

Yes i suspect thtat there is something in the code, that does respond to the clientside.
I am no programmer, but all players i know in eve are reporting the same stuff, loss of modules, freezing of screens etc etc. So Say I. Einheriar Ulrich of the Bloodline of Einheriar.

I agree its very bad actually. I have had lots of issues since the upgrade with ships freezing on jump activation, generally sluggish controls and the occassional total lockup. Its also very laggy in battles. I've thought 1v1's small unit skirmishes, and a couple of big fleet battles since the upgrade and its not much fun sadly.
Something seems broke.
We have also had a few moments I am sure everyone has noticed when even moving objects around gets lagged out and mass node drops happen.

Even when I try to open cans, the indicator will sit at 0/0 with the bar showing 1/4 full for almost a minute before it will resolve into what's actually in the can.

When jumping into ssytems i have problem, but when trying to do some kind of taske near other entitys in scpae i get problems, like drone bays and cargo bays updating is slowed very drastically, or the colour brackets on gang, friendly or nemies arte updating very slow.
also targeting is slowed drastically, not the actual act, when you are trying to lock the ship, but when your are trying to aqyire lock via your f-keys, both in high and low slots. So Say I. Einheriar Ulrich of the Bloodline of Einheriar.
