so missions have become too easy ey, well try this mission![Laughing](/images/icon_lol.gif)
name: Smash the supplier given by: Minmatar lvl 4 republic fleet agent target: Amarr Hostiles: 25 BS's , 15+ (might've been 20) cruisers, 10 (or so) frigs, 4 or so elite frigs. ALL INSTA AGGRO YOU
Other info: There are some ship assembly arrays which may be the reason a new 'wave' spawned every 5 sec until the above count (approx count), but since they have a S**t ton of HP's it's not viable to shoot those first. Aggro does not switch once one has aggro unless you warp out, drones can be used fine. defender missile spam, the ships have a90% passive tank with very rare rep cycles, but still takes ages taking down compared to say sansha BS's. The Judgements are the ones doing the most damage, but also the ones furthest away.
how i did the mission: i warped my nighthawk in not sur what to expect, 90% resist tank that perma ran was used. f**k where'd my shield go? warp warp warp!!! i got out in 50% armor, my tank melted so fast it wasn't funny after a few more tries i decided to wait and call in a friend with an abaddon + guardian to tank for me.
The abaddon had a 90% resist tank with dual rep AND being supported by a remote repping guardian, that tank BARELY held
by the time everything ha finally been killed most of the wrecks had already despawned, the loot and salvage from the 8-12 BS's wrecks that remained gave expected salvage, 500k and 750k tags total value of tags: 14 mill, loot was the standard mix if stuff.
i can't think of a single ship able to tank this solo with t2 stuff, due to my se status i coulnd't fly to get my abaddon/nav apoc to test how long the tank on those would last. (nighthawk tank lasted around 10 sec before needing to warp in 5% shield)
Have fun!![Wink](/images/icon_wink.gif)

Sounds more like a lvl 5 or high level plex but without the typical NOS tower. Pretty much impossible to solo even with faction/officer fit.
Maybe they got it wrong and this was a lvl5, that or it's designed to melt carebears ravens in pairs lol. ---

I did this mission three times, Kronos with faction fitt tanked the entire room without any problem. Maybe you should review your nighthawk setup and use light drones to kill fast the stupid frigs which does pretty good dps.
they Do not insta aggro you, there is no scramble/stasis in this mission and the 20Bs dont pop together (5 min between waves, total of 4-5 waves), you start with 6x BS.

hmm..that was not the case for me, all the stuff pretty much spawned with 10-20 sec difference.
and yes...they ALL aggroed me when i shot ONE of them....the small stuff was easy....but 25 BS i just didn't stand a chance to tank, the small stuff died pretty much instantly, but then i was left with 25 BS that started getting at their optimal ranges...and that hurt...
but who knows, maybe my mission was bugged. -sig-

Did this mission in a CNR - faction fitted ... But had to warp out twice - they all agro at the same time ... but when I warped back in took out the firgs first then the cruisers but any BS I hit .. had about 12 - 15 BS hitting me back at the same time
Could hold on for some time but had to warp out eventually and come back and finish
I did it with Gallente agent though so had AMARR troop hitting me

I've also noticed that sometimes (even when it's the same mission and I use the same approach) they ALL aggro you. I had one lvl3 mission (can't remember the name) which I've done like 5-6six times now after the patching. The aggros change almost in every single run. I also always went to for the same group and I popped the same darn frig that was closest to me (or fastest to get to me). There has to be some sort of "bad luck" gamble that's in use :)
Not that I mind. Makes life more interesting. Same missions and sometimes you come out with barely even on low shields...sometimes normally in armor and sometimes smoking on structure :D

Did this solo in a T2 Raven. Set a course 180 degrees from the hostiles, then lob Paradise cruise missles back at them. Had to head back to aggro the second group; then took out the large collidable objects. Yah, Pirate Invasion is like that. 9 times out of 10 only one nearby group and one distant group will auto-aggro. But 1 time in ten nearly everything in the room auto-aggros and even my Nighthawk tank creaks a little bit under that onslaught. -- (Sarcastic mission running veteran, 4+ years)

Shoot the shipyards first, in order from battleship, to cruiser, to frigate, as each one dies that type stops spawning. They didn't have that many hp, took maybe 5 or 6 volleys each on my Kronos from the warp in spot.
Also, if you warp out and back in after the yards are dead, you'll only have 1 size of ship at a time agro when you start shooting.

Pirate Invasion depends on ship. I use an active tanked Nightmare and aggro the entire thing just to let drones out, but battleships melt in 3 tach volleys, so hardly any damage after a little while.

Ah well, I like to sit still on most missions. That way the loot is nearly always within 40km and my Golem won't have to move either. The only exception is AE4 bonus where I like to try and get distance at first to reduce the DPS. -- (Sarcastic mission running veteran, 4+ years)

You need to read the mission briefing instructions carefully. The mission objective was to warp in and clear specific structures.
The npcs continue to spawn at intervals and it is possible to kill them all. I did it twice already in a Navy Raven.
My point is: you do not have to kill them - just destroy the structures that you're supposed to, if you want to blitz the mission.
If you want to kill them, here's what you do: 1. Fly away from them 2. Kill anything that gets under 40km from you (maybe 50km) 3. Once you've put enough distance, their dps drops and they also stop following you. 4. Salvage and loot the NPCs for tags
The NH should be able to tank easily, but you have to know how to manage the incoming damage. Distance is a good thing. I've tried a number of times to close in but found that the level of incoming damage kept increasing, though my shield booster was able to keep up. Active tanks might need to fit a shield boost amplifier for that extra defence.

Dude, I hope not. We need more faction missions and gladly ccp seems to think so too. It adds flavour to the game to not being able to enter two of the main empires anymore. Even traders don't rely on the need of accessing all empires.

Try moving to 80k or so, they cant touch you, you dont get webbed and certainly dont get scrammed so wheres the problem?
Ofc if you sit there at 0m/s screaming "hit me ****ers!!!" you will have a problem.

Don't know, I always aggro everything on purpose so I can switch to semi-AFKing it with FOFs (the Sansha version, that is)... max speed, orbit one of the far buildings at 45-75km, let the FOFs rip... get focus back on EVE every 4-5 minutes to restart'em after the auto-reload.
If I hold still for a while while they get aggro, the tank positively melts in seconds. If I do the "orbit at wide range and full speed" thing, shields hold steady at above 80% most of the time. Of course you get much better results if you focus fire manually, but I always loved the lazy approach (let the mission run itself while doing something else that's more interesting during that time).
heh the 2 groups auto aggro every time I have done the mission, the group to the front aggros if you get too close, or shoot at them, and the other 2 groups almost never aggro until I shoot at them.
usually warp in on one char, then warp the other in and get the rest of the aggro with the other char, and let drones rip.
looking forward to trying missions with a sentry domi and a fof golem. ![ugh](/images/icon_bear.gif)

I finally 'blitzed' this solo in several hours, in a Domi set up according to this advice here: http://oldforums.eveonline.com/?a=topic&threadID=486331
What I did was run from the rats and let my heavy drones kill them until they were out of position, then warp out and return when their backs were turned.
You can pull most of them away from the shipyards and have a few minutes of peace to do your dirty work on the mission goals.
Many of my drones died before I figured this trick out.
