Actually what defines a adults vocab in contrast to a childs is a greater ability to express themselves and basically use bigger words. I've worked with foriegn children aged from eight to eighteen and taught them english. The major difference between the two extremes of age is their ability to understand words that express more complex ideas.
If you've ever tried to explain idioms to an eight year old spanish girl you'd know what I mean. Most the words that occur to an adult to explain the idiom which can be translated into spanish easily using the internet are beyond the grasp of a child that age. With an older child they are far more likely to understand what you mean.
Swear words are rarely if ever complicated and the meaning can usually be convayed by tone of voice alone. Its crude and innapropriate language that isn't supposed to be used in polite society and the majority of people know this. It is only a few who have been raised in an enviroment where they failed to learn acceptable behaviour who continue to insist that swearing frequently is somehow a part of being an adult.

0.0 has it advantages when it comes to local chat, used mostly for quick intel scan, small-talk when local is blue (most by light blue people) and random smack-talk in fights. Other than that, it's a pretty annoying, but life-saving window to have.
