You can no longer see other people transactions for coperations from there char sheet, before say I could see how someone's transactions were with concord it was one of the easy ways to identify if someone with negative standing was a pirate or not.

Hi there
after reading all this I'd like to address a few things wich I believe they are serious bugs.
Missions: there's a new mission called "avenge a fallen comrade" wich leads to a mission waypoint near a huge piece of debris. it seems to happen, that 2 or 3 players get the same mission with the same waypoint at the same time, so they'll all meet at this point, not knowing which rats are belonging to which player. so it happend to me yesterday. also, the agent tells you to bring back everything you find from the missing ship, but he doesn't take the garbage. I think he should. AND: this mission has NO TIME BONUS REWARD!!!
Scanner: the Auto-Scanner seems to have gone completely mad, showing absurd distances to cans and ships sometimes. switching to "name", "range" or "direction" and pressing the "scan"-button helps.
not a serious bug or even not a bug at all: had a "Standard M" crystal as loot sometimes, never had this item before. It's not listed in the market and not reprocessable. If this is an item like the standard miner it should not be lootable from npc's.
if you don't show some respect, don't expect it from me |

Don't know if this has been pointed out, but Jim Raynor just posted in Ships & Modules that Power Diagnostic Units give a penalty to shield boosting just like Cap Power Relays do.
Is this correct or a bug?

I don't think his point was that they give a penalty, but combined with cap power relays, somehow, they do. Can't remember how and I really gotta go now (RL) so I can't check in game either.

Edited by: Viceroy on 18/06/2004 08:09:36 Dear Oveur,
Local is bugged, its not showing the correct pilots in system, and its even worse than before since it doesnt just pick up pilots from the systems you pass through, it randomly discards pilots from the list. This is not only dangerous but also very annoying. i think you should fix it before i find out how to reproduce it and go on a carebear safari.
Thanks for your time. Yours sincerely, Viceroy. -

Only way you can trade Medium Smartbombs is to have one already, then do a quickbuy or quicksell on it and then check details of the advanced market. Please fix this, has been wrong since 1424.
Weapons Upgrade skill still does not affect Miner CPU usage. Intended?

We did not implement contraband at the same time as the new aggression system since these are both very extensive systems that have dangerous consequences, since CONCORD is not very ... forgiving and has gone Rodney King on some pilots asses (Ancient earth term for police brutality).
Yeah! I still havent forgiven Concord sentry guns for blowing up my cruiser when I accidentially shot a gate instead of a pirate that hid behind it. In less than 8 seconds I was in my pod. All because I hit Stargate for 0.0 points of damage I think they must have made Rodney King AI-chips for those sentry guns.
. . . Awaiting more and hi-bit rate music - with bated breath ... |

Re: "beachballs"
Yes, it is Angel Ambushers that cause them. Had 3 of them circling me last night(as I was helping kill the BS they came with!) and my ship and track were duly surrounded by scores of "beachballs"
It's quite spectacular (especially when missiles start hitting them) but rather annoying and silly.

You can read about these changes here.
And no, we are not trying purposefully to get rid of newer, older, current or upcoming players but as you probably know, it's hard at times to please everyone
Lo Oveur
Good fighting with answering here ...creed to ya.
But that we were trying to post about Heavy Missile was not based on lack of knowledge of the changes. Just that DOT is alittle under the "normal" level, this is not a bug in that matter just a respons on the change and it's result. 10%/Lv should be just fine.
There is alot of bugs out there and they should absolutly be worked on first, but this feels needed for the PvP part of the game in the Future. Keep cruiser attractive even for PvP ...the Npc we will manage with these changes but the PvP part feels drained. Npc is no problems with some study on prefered Dmg type and so on. Think it will be good for the game instead of having people preflying Bs and wine how bad it goes.
Just a respons wanted not a fast change!
Keep it up there and push it some more

IM ****ED!
Rollback of the secure cans changes pls... its inevitable to not hit one of them when you mine and use missiles for protection :/
I would also advice some gm to actually read other treads on the forum... a lot of ppl have been complaining about this.
Secure cans can take infinite loads of hp... no chance that anyone want to spend lots of time on killing them :/
Why oh why would you make accidents the main source for security status loss???

CAN PROTEST
this is conected to the can exploit thread moved here.
basically my ceo lost her scorp due to the unannounced changes to concord response when splash damage occurs to player cans. there has been no response to her petition and i can see from the flamers that alot of people feel the changes are cool so i know everyone will be totally happy if they lose their ships to one of our corps anchored cans at any mission spawn points...rat hideouts ..rat spawns at roid belts we encounter from now untill the general issue is resolved. I`m expecting flames but dont be expecting any further comment from me to your flames.

I know the devs see this as a very low priority fix but I'd like to update on the sound issues.
There is still a bug of some kind with sound that is either affecting sound quality and playback that extends into the rest of windows, not just EVE. This problem is also possibly the root of the sudden problems people are having with 2 accounts.
The details I've experienced are that after 30-60 seconds of playing *all* sounds become doubled in speed. Not just in EVE but winamp, wav files, everything. Only a reboot fixes it.
Also when running 2 clients on the same PC one of them suffers terrible performance, especially when using mining lasers, making it almost unusable. However if I turn sound off on the lagging client the performance increases *drastically*. This wasn't the case before the patch, I could run 2 clients with sound and mining lasers with no trouble. Would be great to have an acknowledgement that this problem will be looked at, thanks

I was using a set of Regulated Ions, the same thing happened to another corpmate only a few minutes after me. Think he was using Small Projectiles so it is not specific to any weapons/launchers.
I aligned to warp out as soon as I knew something was wrong but its sods law that my guns do uber damage.

Posted - 2004.06.17 12:59:00 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This should be discussed in this thread so locking topic, move discussion over there.
This is an intentional change and is part of the Aggression system. It's correct, this specific part was not properly publicized.
Player owned secure containers and player dropped cans are their property. Shooting at them equals shooting at the player.
This is in line with the contraband part of the aggression system where the loot dropped by an attacked party flags the one that picks up the loot as an agressor too. Today the loot pickup party is immune although known to carry the stolen items preventing retaliation.
The fix for this lies in not allowing the missiles to damage something they were not explicitly launched at. ___________________________________________ "That's Clarence Oveur! Oveur."
This is about the cans and it shows clearly there was a rule change without notice being given to the players at all. Snippet from the quote above:
"It's correct, this specific part was not properly publicized."
Now can we talk about our ships and equipment being replaced....................... |

Edited by: Def Antares on 18/06/2004 10:02:32 Will Interceptor Insurance be fixed? They sell for 10 - 25 million isk now, and you get a mere 850k basic insurance. Max insurance is ~ 2 mill. Dont sound right to me. This is especially true for Crow Ints. The problem is that the build cost is 2,5 mill roughly, but ppl sell them so high. I got no problem with that, but the insurance should adapt imo.
