There's no way that those systems are that crowded. I LIVE in Fountain. It must be either a) Server broke, or B) A whole bunch of people came in, or C) It's dynamic.
This is not good. --------

Oh please.
Shut your mouth and go play the game. Cut the whining and the panic.
The cap limit is high, a node coincidentally failed (this is similar to other node failures I've seen), and nobody is going to be able to use this as an exploit in 0.0 until we get dynamic load re-balancing, because we'll still get horrendous lag with fleet fights over 400. And the cap is higher than that.
So take a chill pill. Get up, stretch, stop hassling Wrangler (for crying out loud, he's one of the few "nice" devs left!), set a long skill, and eat some popcorn. It helps.
Trust me. --------

I'm glad they are finding it funny.
I don't moan when the server has trouble, but I do object to solutions which are worse than the problem.
I'd rather Eve was down than allowed to continue in this crippled state.
What crippled state? My Eve works just fine. --------

Whats the limit btw? 200? 300? So i know how many alt accounts in shuttles i need to move to destination.
I'm sorry how is hard limit any different from the system crashing after 1300 people in a system?
Because now they won't have anyone to blame for their stupidity besides themselves? --------

There are critical events transpiring in game this weekend which you apparently have no inkling of. Literally years of effort and game play hang in the balance for both sides. To have this happening at this particular time is very distressing for thousands of pilots on both sides. If one side or the other loses due to how they play the game, then no one would be complaining, however nobody likes to see that much effort at risk due to serious bugs.
I understand that. However, I'll betcha 100 million ISK that 95% of the people yelling in the thread aren't in this situation.
Originally by: Ranger 1 So yes, you are going to see some sharp criticism from the more involved community members. Even from those that have a great deal of respect for CCP.
I'm no stranger to criticizing CCP. But the problem doesn't appear to be of their making, it appears to be an equipment failure. Shit happens.
Originally by: Ranger 1 As a side note, I can stable your high horse for a reasonable fee.
But can you shoe it? It needs shoeing, and the saddle is really uncomfortable.

Originally by: Rhaegor Stormborn I will always blame how Eve functions on CCP. Fault does not lay with the customer.
Then get out and go play another game. No one will miss you, except your alliance mates. And probably not them. --------

Originally by: Rhaegor Stormborn Of course it is thier making. CCP owns and created the hardware. They are reponsibile for its maintenance and the code that runs on it. No one else is to blame except CCP. Get it through your thick skull. They are the ONLY ones who can fix it.
So if You computer fails at work and you lose a report, your boss can blame you? You know, since you operated the computer?
Node crashes are equipment failures. Not every contigency can be planned for or prevented. In the little perfectionistic world of your mind I'm sure you can imagine never having a crash, but in the real world it just ain't so. Sorry. --------

Actually, the last one I remember is a few months back when Racketeers tried to take down a hi-sec POS. That got a LOT of people hot under the collar. --------

I can't shoe it, but as it will be stabled right next to MY high horse I can offer studding services if the price is right.
Oh, and your saddle is fine, your just sitting on it backwards.
Hmm. Good thing I was using an English saddle. A western saddle would just be...wrong. --------

Originally by: Lily Sarman Few obvious exploits
1) To defend a system simply fill it with your pilots so no enemy ships can come in and if any are in killing them and replacing their number in the system with your ships will effectively exclude them.
2) To conquer a system use the same method as 2) but make sure that you bring a large amount of ships into a system just after downtime ensuring that you have the numerical advantage
You'll need about 1,000 pilots, I believe, since that seems to be the cap. That's hard for any alliance to muster. And to keep them there continuously? Haha.
Originally by: Lily Sarman Suggestions
a) Put this under concord traffic control and make it so that there is a steadily increased cap with reduced system security status to no cap in 0.0 outside the juristicion of Concord and Empire completely.
Not a bad idea, but something tells me that the server code is not so easily manipulated. --------

I see you've never had an office job before? Yes of-freaking-course your boss can, will, and SHOULD blame you. If you don't back up your freaking data how is it the company's fault?
I've seen it happen many a time and I fail to understand how its not the person's fault just because it was their hardware that failed and not their body.
Usually documents are backed up on a central server after everyone goes home, silly.
Oh, and if you mean "saving it to disk", I'm talking if that fries. In which case, you are screwed. And since most typically don't back up documents to a central off-site facility WHILE THEY ARE WRITING THEM, I think that my statement stands. --------
