With the increased risk of losing expensive implants in 0.0 (eg. to bubbles and or grid/fleet-lag), how many people in here use them there?
I can understand how people could use eg. +3-implants, or snake-implants, since in one case they're not very expensive and in the other your speed will likely take you out of any bubble (though the lag-issue still remains, I suppose).
And does anyone know if CCP will reimburse snake-implants if you died because of eg. lag from 200 jumping into local?

And I've been using +5's since they were made available.
edit: I should say I now use only two, whereas before Jump Clones I had all five plugged in. And they cost 700mil, not 100 :F

My main doesn't have any at the moment.. keep forgetting to pick them up. But, my alt has a set of +3's, and the mining foreman link. So far he hasn't' been podded, but he doesn't do much PvP.

CCP doesn't reimburse anything for any reason anymore. If you file a reimbursement petition you simply get a copy and paste response to the effect of "screw you, the lag doesn't exist. Keep paying us. Thanks"
Simple answer. Don't go to 0.0 with implants. Heck, don't go to 0.0 ever. If you want to PVP, just pick a large empire alliance and war dec them. At least then you always know which targets in local might be trying to kill you.
If you want to PVE, there's no better place than safely tucked away in lvl 4 empire missions.
0.0 is for people who like sitting in capital ships for hour after tear-wringing hour shooting at other people's POS's. What in the heck is fun about that?

I have lost a few sets of +3's / +4's recently and as such only have +2 implants in my Jump Clone for 0.0. In 0.0 all it takes is 1 bubble and youre podded, so I allways reccomend treating your pod just like your ship, only fly with what you can afford to lose. I can afford to lose +4 implsnts but putting them at risk on a regular basis is counter-productive.

Wut?
Seriuosly?
Run implants man, its fine, the above guy here is clueless about being clueless. Slaves, Snakes, all that crap, feel free, just make sure that loosing them isn't going to bankrupt you, or that they aren't irreplaceable. +3's are pretty cheap, and easy to get back.
Also, remember that Neesa is bitter and clueless, thats the most important lesson to take away from this thread.

Two attribute imps for the skill you are learning. Switch it to a long skill and have fun. I mean they are pretty damn cheap for a couple of +4's now. It would not take too long to rat it up to replace them.
All the other hard wire implants are no different than fitting our ship.
What I could never understand is how someone can faction fit or rig the shit out of a ship, but think implants is a waste of money because he is afraid he will loose them while flying the same ship.

when I first got out to 0.0 one of my corp mates at the time made the point that lost isk could always be replaced but lost training time could not.
with that said considering how cheap +3's are it is foolish not to fly around with those in every clone. +4's even are not that bad.
pirate implants... well if you got the money go for it, but as has been said if you cant afford to lose em dont bother.

I've worn +4s since LP stores were introduced. Jump clones are the key - 1 clone with an PERC/WILL pair, 1 clone with a MEM/INT pair of +4s. As long as you don't get podded all that often, the losses are pretty tolerable, especially in the context of flying T2 ships anyway.

I scoot around 0.0 in my HG Snake clone, but my HG Slave clone, not so much. Mostly because I'm in a BS with my slave clone, and BS don't do so well in the roaming department.
Quite a while ago a few of my buddies and I went roaming in 0.0 in a low sec style BS gang, with all of our cool stuff and implant clones. The gang (6-7 guys) was chased by two separate blobs of 60+ hostiles and I ended up jumping safespots for twenty minutes and then logging while being probed out by three Arazus. Not fun. I eventually got out safely with my ship and implants intact, but I probably had about 4b+ hanging out in the wind for a bit.

2x +5's "always" and i just go for one skill group at a time. then some 3%-hardwirings or mission-5'ers (like the mx-2)
it is the only way to "buy" SP, the most precious resource we have and the only thing that keeps me from actually doing what i want. not having picked caldari enhanced that ofc;sux to see +3 users have the same amount of SP as i do
anyways, if i end up webbed and bubbled, i throw in a (huge) level V. wing command it is right now....
otherwise i'd never have the nerve to even start those.

I make sure that I have alwas 2 +4's for the skill I'm training, it's not a big loss.
Also, I make sure that I switch to a long skill before heading to battle so that I don't need to buy new implants too soon if I get podded.

my last visits to 0.0 have been with +4sets and a few 3% rouges and a zor's. although that was interceptor through not friendly space, and then raven in ratting system with pos. so it was all relatively safe, oh and did a 0.0 roam with my zealot and implants.
hmm, should consider doing cybernetics 5 and plugging a few +5s in, although probably wouldn't hit up 0.0 with em in.

Its the same as with ships - dont fly anything you cant afford to lose. Most people I know (and me) use +3 attributes implants and some moderately expensive hardwires.
I used to have an empty clone for fleet operations during north branch Stella-Insurgency wars - I was podded too often in bubblecamped gates, it was more efficient to selfdestruct and return with new ship.

I use cheap implants mostly.
And CCP can reimburse destroyed items due to lag. Try escalating your ticket.

Risk implants? I pvp with implants instead. :) If I die, I wait until skill is finished (implant effect still going unless you pause training) and get a new set. I used to pvp often with +4 implants, but now +3 implants with seige mindlink. :) -----------------------------------

Infact, nowadays if you get podded and you think that training BS to lvl5 will work, thats bullshit because nowadays, after podding your skill timer is RECALCULATED.

Bubbles/Dictors/HICtor bubbles do not work in lowsec and if you get podded in lowsec you are:
- a noob who doesn't know how to save your pod (by selecting a celestial when the ship is about to explode and then hammering "warp")
- lagging terribly
- warping in small ships into smartbombing camps
All of these are not the common case nowdays in lowsec, so your statement is false.

i try to allways use 5% hardwires too.

- Travelling through highsec in a shuttle as an outlaw, with the urge to visit the toilet real quick, so that when you arrive in the destination system (a busy low sec system of course), you select a station, click dock, and go afk. Even Drakes can pod you then.
But then, I'd probably have ****ed in my pants if I waited any longer, I call this a fair trade.
