Why doesnt everyone realise that npc wrecks arent owned by the person that shot them. After all it wasnt their ship that got blowen up. Technicaly they are owned by the npc's that got blowen up!

Short of a nano nerf not much will change... you really think carebears in highsec would dare shoot at people stealing their wrecks?
If a ore thief takes your shit and you're all alone in your mining barge, do you fight back yes/no?

1. Form a gang. 2. Get a passive drake doing missions 3. Agress the salvo thief salvaging your wreck (T1 frig would get instagibbed by the way). 4. Wait for him in PVP ship, all the while having a cloaked Falcon and a couple BSes near by. 5... 6. Profit!

That is why you check local. and 99% of mission runners would **** there self if they sent a cruise missile at another player.

""Check local in Motsu" - Eve expression meaning "doing sensless work that still would not protect you from getting ganked"
What I meant was - not only carebears would use this feature. And everytime you see a carebear agressing you - you would think "Does he have over 9000 gangmates waiting for my next move or not?" ------------------------------------------ All nerfs are meant to hurt you personally. Originally by: Dirk Magnum Hot off the test server presses: salvaging other peoples' wrecks will flag you, with the same mechanics as can stealing. This means less salvage will be retrieved because some people are scared to death of being flagged to others, which of course means that rig prices will go up. I do not believe that the OP's suggestion that their price will "skyrocket" is accurate though, since so many wrecks end up sitting in empty belts. Why worry about a flag when nobody is around to shoot you when you perform the criminal action? Typical Eve Forum sensationalizing if you ask me.
This isn't true btw.

well sir I am a motsu ninja salvager (well, my main is) and I kill the little ravens of Motsu when they grow ballz and attack me. Checking local will let you know what kind of odds you are facing as the aggro is only to that person and his/her corp not his gang m8's.

I would actually prefer if someone jumped into my missions stealing my wrecks as that cuts down on space garbage as i rarely cba to salvage myself.

Apparently that will no longer be so. Logically, your argument also applies to loot cans and they should never have been tagged either; but in the EVE world, logic doesn't always apply. ________________________________________________

I heard from a reliable source that the salvage components will no longer drop when salvaging wrecks. Instead, you will just be able to pick up the installed rigs out of the wreck to make things easier.
Honest.

Edited by: Dextrome on 07/10/2008 16:39:46 If no one owns wrecks why does the corp ticker of the person who blewup the npc show next to the wreck? It should work the same as with cans. If this changes then my main will be more than happy to try and bait cnr pilots. To stay on topic, i don't think the market cares who salvages so prices shouldn't change much. |

Originally by: Tiirae I build and sell about 2000 rigs a week in Jita; raw materials have been trended up a little lately but there's no sign of anything dramatic happening.
If they do change it so salvage-theft results in a flag, I don't think it would make a lot of difference. The amount of salvage being brought in by 50,000 people salvaging their own missions will dwarf the efforts of the few hundred people doing salvage theft.
There may be a slight bump upward but I'd be surprised if it was more than 5% or so.
OTOH, the OP may be talking about some other reason. No idea. It will be interesting to see cos I've got about 5b worth of salvage in stock, it would be nice if that doubled in value overnight!
