What does sig radius issues have to do with range? You should be using a painter with Torp golem anyways. Tachyons miss like crazy up close, have you tried doing angel extrav. or damsel with tachyons?
Golem wins all around! >;)
Golem wins if you feel compelled to be able to complete any and all missions you can be offered by any and all agents. When it comes to pure isk/hour, running an Amarr agent with a Paladin and declining the few that the Pally is not suited for (or doing them in a Golem/Kronos/Whatever like I do) beats everything else. And if you are reading this, you have arrived at the signature without noticing...

You see, the catch is the Paladin is best against the racial rat enemies of Amarr (i.e. those weak to EM/Therm). These rats also tend to stay much further out than the Minimtar racial enemies. The key therefore is to not run those sub optimal missions in a Paladin - either turn them down or have another ship just for those.
The golem wins in terms of flexability - the paladin almost certainly wins in terms of pure effeciency against the racial foe.

Naturally, Nightmare is the best marauder.

Originally by: Leandro Salazar With all the Kronos dissing around here, I gotta say that my Kronos does Angel Extra faster than my torp Golem. If it didn't waste a ship bonus on a web that has no place ever on a good mission ship, it would be right up there with the Paladin (Yeah I know Paladin suffers from web bonus too, but it makes up for that with sporting the best mission weapons in game). If it supported shieldtanking a little better than it does (shieldtanking > armortanking against the Kronos' ideal enemies), it would be really great.
I still think the Kronos sucks. The Paladin has the option of Tachs, and there isn't an equivalent option for the Kronos. 425mm T2s just don't have the range and punch required, even with 3x faction magstabs. Furthermore the Kronos doesn't have the tank of the Paladin as well.
For the Kronos it's short ranged weapons are terrible for mission running (unlike the Golem) and it's long range weapons are inferior in DPS (compared to the Golem and Paladin), even when using 3x T2 sentries. With the upcoming web nerf the Kronos will no longer be able to slow frigates down to a point where it can hit them with it's heavy rails.
It's stuck in a middle ground where other ships are far better in all respects, and the Dominix can perform much better for far less, and with less hassle.

The Golem is certainly the best, followed by the Paladin. The Vargur is the best Minmatar PvE ship (although a maxskilled Typhoon comes close). The Kronos is not a bad ship, but it is outclassed by the Dominix with T2 sentries (which in my opinion outclasses all other ships for Level 4s). ------------

Yeah I know paladin is good at em/therm, I tag team missions with a golem and a paladin
But I can't, in good conscience, say paladin is the best over all "PVE ship"... because it is not. It is only the best at em/therm. Autocannon Varguar is the best at Damsel in Distress, does that make it the best PVE ship?
Having a Torp golem doing an em/therm mission, and it'll just be a tad slower than the paladin. On the other hand, have a paladin do an angel, gurista, serp, merc mission... it doesn't even come close to the golem. Having said that, I believe golem is still the best ALL AROUND PVE ship
Again, the question is about the best PVE marauder, not the best "amarr agent running ship that only accept em/thermal missions"

Paladin is good on paper against sansha/bloods, but those turret disrupt like crazy. I was once perma td for 30minutes on blockade by a bunch of bs and bc. Medium 2 drones take forever taking those down by themselves.
So id have to say Golem. Torp/Jav torp.. immunity to ewar ftw. |

True, I move around alot, raven class is a good PVE ship anywhere.

Originally by: Amelia O I'm mainly a "carebear pve player" for now. I will be flying a raven in a week and still want somekind of "goal" , so I settled with a marauder for missioning in the future. which one is the best for pve ? I don't care if I need to train stuff to fly it, so no GOLEM please.
thanks !
Take my advice. Go for CNR before ta marauder. CNR is actually a very good PvE ship :)

I find monstrosity works quite well, since you can pull large groups and AOE. However, you shouldn't discount brutality for single target DPS, and if all else fails, I guess you could use a Golem as last resort.

try moving to reduce transversal, and load a longer range crystal. You'll get unlucky sometimes and get 3+ TD's on you, which sucks, but when you only have 1 or two you'll still pop em quick.
Also realistically, the golem will be flinging jav's most of the time giving a pretty big damage advantage to tachyon-users except vs. close ranged rats (oh wait, that includes bloods)

You cant throw a rock these days without it hitting a CNR, there is a reason for this.

Realistically I only load javelins once in a mission, if at all. And I almost never have to reload javs, i often use less than half of the rack tbh. I run missions for amarr btw, got annoyed with the guristas jamming in the end.

I think you dooing it wrong, it¦s a bit anoying but thats it, Gurista ECM is more painfull most of the time. I personaly use a Mega Puls Abaddon without mutch trouble here. ---- Nerf Tank - Boost Gank!
