Edited by: Bobby Atlas on 13/10/2008 08:33:30 Stain Wagon (SE/ATLAS/C0VEN/SYSK) has since Thursday begun anew on campaign to reinforce/kill goon high ends in Esoteria. This culminated in the loss of a few goon towers over the weekend including 1 dyspro with only small skirmishes so far, all in favor of Stain Wagon.
Monday morning at 02:40 and 03:25 goon towers were to come out of reinforced in A-CJ (sov holding towers). As such at 16:00-18:00 eve Sunday night, Stain Wagon proceeded to reinforced a new goon tower setup on Saturday night along with incapping mods on remaining towers followed by a logoff of capital forces with some support at a friendly tower.
Goons started the evening early at little before 0100 Monday morning by bringing in 24 carriers, a nyx and some support to repair the pos guns and proceed with some fighter bombing using shuttles, nothing new there.
At 02:00eve the Stain Wagon CTA was set to start (due to heavy Euro TZ, it was Alarm Clock), capitals started to login, support from ATLAS bridged into a forward system couple jumps out and A-CJ local was around 240 once all forces involved had come into local with no skirmishes to speak of. Intel had come in of a mass of 40 goon capitals in 0-o, we expected this and it enticed us for the hopes of a "good fight". Our capitals proceeded to land on the first goon tower at 02:40 and sieged it promptly popping it with our 50~55 caps (dread heavy) then ensued goon support coming in at snipe range.
After a couple of minutes of tit-for-tat support pew pew, goons offlined the cyno jammer and cynoed in a large group of capitals (+40?) 130km off our cap group and support, they were sniping fit dreads. We proceeded to primary what support was between us and the enemy capitals but at this point system was over 300 and local lag had proceeded to become obscene as our dreads tryed to switch out ammo to hit the enemy capitals.
We finally after 10 minutes of initial delay (lag) managed to switch ammo types and get DPS on the primary enemy capitals, while having ourselves an unknown number of capital casualties. It quickly became clear we were not getting enough DPS out to the range needed to down the enemy capitals and support was starting to fall apart as the superior goon BS+Ewar started dominate the field.
All the involved FC's quickly assessed the field and it was decided to call the dreads to break siege cycles and ready exit cynos while our support picked off enemy tacklers/support close in to our capital group. The decisions had been made, we simply could not given the field status get our caps a clean warpin down to the goon caps at close range so the decisions were cut and dry simple - bail.
All capitals once dreads were out of siege were ordered to jump out but not before some enemy dictors and tacklers managed to get back onto the capitals and dictor up a number of what turned out to be mostly SE dreads.
The overall engagement was no surprise to anyone, it had been building up for some time and with the relentless onslaught in the north by MAX we knew goons would be heavy handed in A-CJ looking for something they could win. Although the outcome perhaps interesting to some was again not unexpected, we had known goons used sniping dreads recently in 111- esoteria but the expectation was with the size of this engagement that they would consider more "traditional" capital tactics. This was a flawed assumption and goons new flavor of the month tactic to use sniping dreads opposed to any semblance of "ballz deep" capital engagements proved to be enough to win this one.
I applaud all involved parties, was an interesting affair that we certainly know is far from over. Till next time, pew pew.
The battle stats for K/D of internet pixels is a bit sketchy due to the multiple KB's and goons rather lacking killboard but so far we know of 2 Goon dread losses to 14 Stain Wagon Dread losses with a number of support losses peppered across the field for both sides.

As stated, FOTM for goons - likewise it more the issue of swapping ammo for the short range dreads, as the devs have stated themselves many times it puts a very high load on the node/database server.

Edited by: Prof Patpending on 13/10/2008 11:36:34 Bobby should run for Space President. He can clearly lie through his teeth and spin a crushing defeat into another "lol goons" post from his bitter throne deep in Stain.
You had forces in system before the battle and you out numbered the Goon Cap fleet yet you still lost 7 times as many dreads and flew away as quick as you could with your tail between your legs. This is but a carbon copy of the same bloody nose you received in 111- where you did the exact same thing and were soundly beaten by Sniping Dreads.
People of Atlas, why do you continue to follow this man when all he brings you is death and embarrassment at being the only enemy that has ever lost a Cap Fleet engagement with GoonSwarm without support from its allies?
Will you continue to throw your ships and ultimately your time and effort away just to spite your enemies when you could take the fight to the recently conquered space in the North West where less entrenched Alliances are but finding their feet?
Will you continue to lose not just Battleships but Dreadnoughts to POS guns?
There is only so much faith you can put in empty promises and hot air and especially those members who come from the former holders of Geminate who had to put up with no end of nonsense from their leaders then.
The choice for the common grunt, the one who turns up grim faced to kill or be killed is a simple one. Blindly follow Bobby Atlas into the jaws of a tireless enemy and see your efforts wasted or find a new figure head, a new leader and start on a new path to satisfaction that what you fight for is a cause than is winnable.
Finally, ask yourself this. If as Bobby Atlas stated, publicly, on this forum that the losses in 111- were replaced within hours then why in future capital operations during the fighting for that system weeks after the battle did he fly his carrier and not his dread? There can be but two possible conclusions. Either he is a coward and did not want to risk his new Hull, or he is a prince of lies and did not replace those losses and came in his carrier because that was all he had available.
Which is it warriors of Atlas?

I love these two paragraphs. He manages to both go into a rant about how we are "Going where we can win fights" against people reinforcing our home towers and then tries to brush off the number of ships(Namely dreads) they lost to his own idiocy.

This, this is the best bit. "Instead of using cap ships like everybody else uses cap ships goons used somtehing different. As we are unable to adapt to any new situation (Despite "expecting" this) we wer unable to pew them sufficiently, goons please come into range of our dreads next time."

The prosecution rests Your Honour.
If you either cannot give feed back to your FCs due to lack of imagination or are too scared as they might take offense and cast you out then you are doomed to failure due to the most basic laws of nature. Adapt or Die. Goons use sniping dreads? Well think of a way around it.

Two corrections: 1) Goons aren't involved in MAX. 2) Shooting Goons' POSes will likely cause a Goon reaction.

Since when is 120km sniping dreads? You gotta be using shortrange guns or something to not be able to hit at 120km with decent ammo. ----------------
