Alright, so I am at school right now and in the middle of a long break before my next class. The withdraws from EVE are so intense that I am obligated to start a thread asking the greater C+P community what their favorite ship to fly is, and why.
Personally, I really enjoy flying my rapier. I love that I can warp cloaked with it. And tbh, I find nothing more amusing than imagining someones thoughts as I uncloak 20km from them and web/scram them. More than anything though, i like to fly the rapier because i stay within small gang warfare, which almost always makes my rapier one of the first primaries. And every time that i bring that lil ol' thing to 10% shields and make it out alive i feel like i accomplished something.  Other than that ship tho, i enjoy flying a broadsword because of its massive tank and ability to put a perma scram on someone.
So how does everyone else feel? What are your favorite ships?

Augoror fitted with blasters is a great ship.
Rocket Sacrilege, and a nos/neut Scythe have both served me well.
Favorite though... Thorax with medium arty 2s...

I always loved any of the Rifter models.
But my absolute favorite would be a well rigged Crow and Snakes. Sadly, that's going bye bye.
Oh well, time to start using HACs and BCs.

Favorite PvP ship? Used to be the Arazu before CCP made it utterly suck ass.
These days probably a toss up between the Vexor and Raven. Vexor is cheap, tanks well when properly fitted, and is easy to use. Raven is utterly fantastic for sheer damage potential, but sadly I don't get alot of opportunities to use it.

Recently trained missiles for sacrilege, oh boy oh boy oh boy!
Other than that, hurricane and harbinger. Been flying the harbinger since my first pvp experiences in late 2006 as it was introduced and it's still one of my most flown ships.

Personally I prefer the Huginn over the Rapier. The extra DPS is worth it if you ask me. Definately a beautiful bonus though, for now. Who knows how CCP is going to #$## it over with the changes though :-/.
After that the Hurricane is next. Lots of DPS in a very cheap package while rarely being primaried.

Hurricane because it has big DPS with a small price tag. It's also pretty quick and nimble. Has no problems keeping up with a small HAC/cruiser gang. Other than that I'm pretty fond of the Arbitrator. Nothing quite like seeing a gang of inties turn tail and run at the sight of a 7M isk unrigged t1 ship  . Well, the smart ones turn and run. The not so smart ones find themselves out of an inty. Neuts are rather handy on it too.

I guess my favourites would be:
Rapier, Vagabond, Maelstrom, Dominix, Typhoon, Ishtar, Hurricane, Broadsword, Stiletto
In that order. I would love to try out a tanked Zealot with high skilled pulse lasers, those things are BEASTS, but not quite there yet skillwise.

It has to be my falcon, the thrill of locking down ships and knowing that you can pop real easy if you are not paying attention makes it alot of fun.
Other than that, my torp raven heavy dps (almost 1.1k dps)and a nice tank.

3. Hurricane - Packs a good amount of DPS and a reasonable tank.
4. Drake - Excellent ship in gangs.
5. Vagabond - A quite decent ship indeed. For small roaming ops where I'm a bit too tired to fly a ceptor manually, I bring out the vaga.

Rifter and Hurricane. Rifter is obvious I guess, the Cane is a monster not so much because it does a huge amount of DPS (it doesn't) but because it's versatile and you get lots of utility.

Sader w/ Locus rigs and TE IIs. 15km Pulse damage ftw.
Ishkur w/ ECM drones and neut blasters. Its like a mini GankRax. Get two of those on any cruiser/BC and it'll die pretty quickly.
Other than those, Arby is fun, Stabber is classic, Rupture is a gankmobile, and Brutix is still one of my favorites.

Manticore for sure. Really have to select my targets but once i started using one i havent gone back. Having a wolf pack of SBs is always fun. I also like to stalk belts and gates in 0.0 until i find a target.

My personal favorite at the moment is the Abaddon.
And for my next one you'll probably beat me to Nirvana, but I am really thinking about a Retribution (Amarr Assault Ship for those that have never seen one).
I know it just fields one med-slot, so someone else has to do the tackling for you, but the dps is just nice and with the oncoming speed-nerf it just might be a good option for a damage-ship in small and fast roaming gangs.

At the mo, id say stabber, cheap as chips, fast , pretty suprising damage sometimes, and able to escape when things start to go bad. Whats there not to love?

cant deny the thorax its love. i used the myrm alot, but it doesnt do it for me anymore. ive been on an ishkur binge. i can fly an ishtar and probably would but it would break the bank. if you got a large enough gang to where you wont be primary i like a gank brutix. fit it cheap, oh well. who is going to argue with that many guns and mag stabs? nobody, thats who.

The thing with a brutix is the only advantage it has over a thorax is 2 more turret slots. It has the same number of lows (which sucks)
brutix's are primaried pretty quickly as most FC's know they are capable of 900 dps if fitted properly, however take 1/5 the the time to kill than a mega.
I will stick to my 600 dps thorax that is never primaried in a gang.
Domi's are good to as they are just so versatile.

Been having a love affair with my Arazu I like the "would you stop targeting me thanks" option though it has the DPS of a wet paper bag. My other favorites are the Ishtar and the Diemost. I prefer the Diemost but the prevalance of kill them with twice the numbers technique my Ishtar get used more well at least until the nano nerf hits then I will have to rethink my aww hell I'm outnumbered ship or at least refit it. Time it will tell. |

since my last post i have changed corps and went back to my roots as a pirate... so in light of that.. my NEW favorite ship is the broadsword.. bar none.. that ship is such a badass ship for low sec.. i can tank to hell.. do close to 400 dps and still hold a perma scram on any *** (enter British word for cigarette) that wants to bless our low sec area.. so ya.. on with the thread i guess..

For solo I'm happy taking a Malediction or Thorax. Malediction w/ light missiles is fearsome against other frigates and a Thorax is a capable ship even with a throwaway meta 3 fit.
For gangs I like the stuff that ****es people off. Malediction, Stiletto, Keres, and Rapier especially. Basically EWar-heavy stuff that doesn't fight fair (extreme speed, 33km warp disruption, and cloaked warping with web boost respectively.)
Also beware my recon probing Imicus of destruction, ****ers. Chew on my 75 DPS.

I like the Arby with a Disruptor+NOS fit. Of course, takes decent drone skills to make it fly. I have it fitted so no NOS = Cap bleeding out, thus NOS is always active, even if other ship is really low.
Punisher is fun as a quick, cheap and often exciting fight.
Crusader I mostly use to slap up some safespots and tickle frigates if I find them. Inty is fun cause it, nearly, always can slip away if things start to suck :P

My Sleipnir of doom!!! 30k point Ambits Dg booster invul etc etc Can sit out of range of your average targets out of neut range or you can get right up close it all depends on the target/targets but i love it for roaming.

For fleets I love the Dominix, ugly as hell, but a big pain in the ass with sentry drones and energy neuts.
Solo I like the Taranis and the Ishkur - QR made frigate sized ships awesome!

Just sayin...
I'd have to say that since QR I've started loving small ships again, even if they don't do well under sentry fire. Rapier, Sleipnir, Vagabond are all still high on my list of favorites
