Hmmmm my last forum post ever on the EVE forums this should be interesting. I leave now after being cleaned out through stupidity on my part mainly, but more so the pure greed seen in almost every EVE player. I'm so sick of the scams, spam, and beggars it makes me sick. Take a step back from EVE and all you see is big entities walking over everyone else with complete disregard. I just resubbed to come back to EVE and have a good time and in less than 3 days its over. I'm glad this happened actually, it opened my eyes and made me realize this game is just something to laugh at. Get out while you can :P
-Nub
P.S. - That really wasn't that interesting after all....looking back it reminds me of my time in EVE.

My first and last time being screwed over on EVE...Now I find myself wanting to be the bad guy just to prove a point? Is this the goal of EVE I wonder? To the one....or entity i should say that scammed me: My combat pilot is now active again and I'm selling EVERYTHING carebear on my accounts. Characters included. Good luck, I now have lots and lots of cash, time, and anger at my disposal....
I should also refer back to whoever said "you'll be back" because I hate to admit your right. Oh and keep being assholes guys, I have lots n lots of bullets as well as room on my "who's next list" :) |

Actually that is an awesome idea
If all (honest,good)/in EVE they are called dumb/stupid commit suicide.. Than the people which are dishonest and dicks will just die out slowly and most likely painfully |

Okay, thank you. So nothing esoteric - a basic, simple scam that should be relatively easy to spot.
NubEdition wrote: leave now after being cleaned out through stupidity on my part mainly, but more so the pure greed seen in almost every EVE player.
It probably doesn't happen, but it is not related to greed. ISK is mostly meaningless beyond a measure to keep score. It is core EVE to win; no matter what the game. Be it markets, contracts, Incursions, Mining, combat, scamming, piracy or simple Local smack talk - there is an element of player versus player competition in it. Somebody just beat you at one of the games.
I do want to say - congratulations on taking a positive attitude and coming back with all guns blazing. How are you set for ships and funds and things on your combat pilot? |

Actually no...
But I think peeps have lost more than that... I lost almost that much to a suicide gank once
Took several months to rebuild my market alt nest egg after that 15 second event :)

Hey Nub, I sort of like your post and I hate almost every post so far since fanfest. But you epitomize what makes Eve so great and so different, by what you didn't do. You didn't run like a little kid to the devs trying to make this game into yet another version of farmville. You didn't ask them to start banning PvP in certain systems, banning scams, banning Eve really when you think about it, etc. etc. That is a good thing. You took it on the chin and you figured the game wasn't for you so you moved on. Which is a shame because of something else you didn't do but you might want to try. Payback. Either to the entities that wronged you or to the harsh Eve world itself. That's the freedom of the game. That is the game. It is definitely under assualt by the entitlement kids who've been nursed by Wow et al. And it may go that route with an increaed player base but until then I like your style mate. I hate to lose players but I wish more people would just quit and play another game (at least for a a while) rather than running to the devs and trying to ruin this game like they have so many others. |

Whining to the devs honestly never crossed my mind, so I guess that does set me apart in some way (lol). But on to what you said about scams almost being part of EVE really does make sense. They don't have to cheat to get you to willingly give them the assets/isk, they just have to be a snakey ******* that doesn't have issues sleeping at night after doing something completely immoral. Thanks for the wise words, it calms me even more now. |

Keep in mind the people can be very different from their characters. How was it put recently ...
Liang Nuren wrote:For those who are unaware, the typical GÇ£carebearGÇ¥ argument goes that someoneGÇÖs avatar is an in game extension of themselves. As a general rule, people adopting this stance bring their real life morals into the game and expect everyone else to play by what they perceive the rules of the game to be. They tend work within the rules of the monopoly-sandbox to create and to build. To them, IGÇÖm unable to hide behind the name GÇ£Liang NurenGÇ¥ when I suicide gank their hulk in high sec. They fully believe that I would do depraved and unspeakable things in person to real people if given the opportunity and a reasonable guarantee of a lack of personal consequence.
However, I do not believe this to be the case. Its simply that one of the most basic skills of Eve Online is discerning what is real vs what is not real. People who are not capable of this distinction are frequently at extreme odds with the community as a whole and are frequently encouraged to leave the community. They tend not to stay long GÇô both because of self selection and constant encouragement. Really, I think this is for the best all around because I donGÇÖt want to be anywhere near someone who isnGÇÖt able to personally distinguish between what is real and what isnGÇÖt. Just because I blew up your 80 billion ISK / $4,000 USD Titan doesnGÇÖt mean that you should make it your real lifeGÇÖs work to destroy mine GÇô by virtue of destroying my professional career or killing me/my family/my dog. Its just that us building things and blowing up each otherGÇÖs ships is part of the game and not any more interesting to the real life law than me stealing your hotel in our game of monopoly GÇô even if you paid for it with real life dollars (bad you).

if you have the skills and knowhow making isk isn't so hard that it will take you years to make up for your hulk loss... every subcap ship can be bought in a few months if you just run missions a few times a day... i don't see the big deal. |
