Maybe possible, maybe not, I'm not sure how hard that would be to implement.
A bit more unrealistic- Put in the above, then make it possible to board enemy ships and go into FPS mode to kill the pilot and capture it .

I want subsystem targeting and system-specific damage, as others have posted. Also more player/ship interaction. I want different kinds of engines, hulls, lights, etc..I want to mod my ship, even if we can't do paint jobs and the like because of lag, I want the ability to choose different things for all the subsystems of my ships, whether it be the rookie ship or a capital. I want endless amounts of choice for everything the ship does, even if we don't get to manually fly it, I want to know that if it performs well, or poorly, my input(other than just the point/click, modules, and how much EHP I came up with) had something to do with that. not just an assembly-line type ship. There are ways to do this that would not increase lag, I'm sure of it. Yes, even in a game as complex as this, I want the option for more complexity. for those that don't, keep the options as they are now as well. something for everyone.

Dont know if this has already been mentioned but one thing i would LOVE to see is ships with battle scars.
If any ship recieved x ammount of damage, such as a Megathron for example, over prolonged periods took 100k damage a new scar would appear on the ship, then at 200k damage a second scar etc. etc.
Though i understand that it could be quite heavy on the server, and probably not possible to implement it would look very sexy

Tactical environments, removing local, removing afk cloaking, lessening the affect of focus fire, reducing the need/benefit for/of blobs.

Stars should do damage, be cool to warp your battleship there to tank the star and have it kill any nano ships that tried to follow you in, and especially toast any ceptors/dictors which might try to tackle you there.
There should be some solar systems with so much gas/dust that you can't see a darn thing, just a dim glow from the sun. A system like this would automatically lower your sensor range, lock range, scan range, and sensor strength; to rediculously low levels. Part of this wish is already in the game in the form of several module effects.
This is one of the best ideas in this thread. I recently flew into the sun to see wut would happen and i was very dissapointed when i didnt die. Skill training queue is probably more needed and more practical though. I believe there is a thread in the CSM section about this too... everyone here should go post in it expressing the need for skill queues.

Just three things I can see I would like to see changed/added
1 - Skill Queue. please, with ghost training gone, this would be very handy.
2 - Fix grids so that way bubbles pull people in only if they would actually pass inside the bubble and not merely compare its location between grids. having to triple bookmark nearly every possible route just to avoid dictors in your own frequent flier space is silly.
3 - please, (more) personal anchorable structures. Even if I had to fuel it, it would be nice to make a small personal base wherein one could store another ship or two, repair, refit and such. (deadspace and long reactivation cloak modules for it purchaseable to stop it from being found by just anyone.)
local, warp to 0, S/A/S with no targetting, all fine as I see it. Another one bites the dust. |

Make the loot recovered from player wrecks relevent to the amount of damage they've just taken. i.e. if a massive gang ganks a single ship, there's not much left in the loot, whereas with a 1 to 1 fight where the damage is less, more of the loot is dropped.
This should encourage players to match their firepower to their targets, rather than relying on blob warfare. Make Eve more tactical based.

Resources from planets extracted by said colonies used for T3 production.
A UI that's customizable and actually works right, along with a skill queue (now that ghost training is gone is there any reason not to do it?)
Sov. mechanics that make it easier for the little guys to hold a little space, and harder for the huge mega alliances to hold entire regions.
Customizable ship hulls - paint / corp logos, ship names, etc. A camera option that lets you lock the camera onto whatever you have selected, so you can look at what you're shooting at rather than spending most of your time staring off into some random direction in space. ---

I really have to say. The lack of imagination in this thread appals me. If you could have ANYTHING you want, something that would take 5+ years to develop and place within EVE, you'd like a.... Faction BS? A Reworked UI? A stupid MINIFRIEGHTER??!?!?!?!
You people will NEVER be allowed to attent my board meetings for world domination..
If I could demand anything I'd demand the ability to trully grow and develop empires in nullsec. I'd like to see planetary infrastructure, more player owned structures, automated defensive mechanisms. Idealistically patches of 0.0 should be able to be developed into true working empires.
And while I'm demanding, improve beginer gameplay. People play EVE for the trial period say it sucks and then make fun of ME for playing it (they were never really my friends anyway). EVE fails for new people at this point.
But if I could only choose one thing....
I'd say make grinding fun. In some small tiny way, make mining, or missioningr ratting... FUN. Cuz right now all thats fun is exploding... and im tired of self-destructing my mega for the boner. ___________________________________________

Really tough missions - rats changing agroo, - random type appearance - better rat AI
Real dual monitor support - one for environment and other for endless panels
Ship visible damage - wouldn't cause more lag because we already have data for damage indicators, being pulled/sent from/to server
Remote fitting/inventory - wouldn't cause more lag because those could be updated with delay, once in every hour or two
Other interesting things - traveling camera probe - option to camouflage ship or send wrong ship ID - auto destruct which causes damage like smart bombs - beer as commodity :) - specialized ships which allows players to board other ships if those are in less than 25% hull or if opponent agrees possible features: option to board with own pod, or to overtake fly controls, or to carry other player pod for boarding - medals (Check) - option to loot player corpse for implants - corpse launcher 
And OFC: Moar cowbell!

Nothing short than total immersion.. a living, breathing universe from biggest fleet scale level down to visiting cities per foot on one of the various planets.
The avoidance of all out-of-game intelligence, like voice coms (would include a universe wide eve voice aswell I guess). Finally the ability to fly some distances with a convoy etc and not just warping from one celestial object to the next without ever needing to use your manual engines apart from pvp engagements.

Better optimization for HUD in general
-give option to assign shortcut for every single action I have to do with mouse click (drone launch - even for each group)
- let me choose where I have "selected object" window and were are locked targets displayed
- better option for setup of "overwiev" - more combination of what I want to see and want I do not want to see (e.g. I want to have coloured background on players in overview, but I do not want to have it coloured in space view)
- Voice / sound notification when your drones are attacked
- Voice / sound notification when you are scramnbled / webbed
