this happened in the Pain system and i think there may still be some players still fighting the cause....
here are some pics
Deathage
Pain
Serp chasing us when we retreated to gate
Serps giving it the large and basking in there glory
after much work the fleet managed to take out a single BS... only for it to return.....what a gig... much fun....

Our forces: 80 ships (approx) Their Forces [Serpentis]: 8 ships
Our losses: 60-70 ships Their Loses [Serpentis]: 1 ship
Their BSes jsut would not die.
Always hit the big red button whenever you get the chance.

I saw most of the bs die.. believe it or not alot of it was FF from people using smartbombs or shooting on each other. The Serpentis were obviously shield tanking each other so there should have been more coordination. Warping all the bses in one massive group doesnt help either. ----------------------------------- about:blank |

the call for arms was announced in the Mission channel. some people might be a bit grieved as they dont frequent the mission channel...but if you think about it this was really just a stonking great big mission.

not wrong there at all.... i think some people under estimated the firepower of the Serps..... basicaly when your sheild started to go, it was time to aline for warp back to gate. in the time it took my Tempest to turn and enter warp they had taken out all my shild and amour and down to 3/4 hull...
good job i had a repaired on board....must have warped in and out of battle 4 or 5 times. what a gig.
Quote: Sounds like a fun time, what did that BS drop? anything good? And who was coordinating this attack?
not sure what they dropped or what were the rewards. some of us didnt get any reward at all, even if we were there from start to finsish. (but im not *****ing as i had plenty of fun, which is all i really want)
the attach was coordinated by a chap called "Tche" he was lucky enuf to find the original scout and hence the bookmark to the outpost. the assult was very poorly organised, but this was not Tche's fault. just imaging a large fleet of people who dont normaly play as a team, many people didnt seem to follow the most basic of instructions when Tche gave them.
for instance just befor the assult Tche asked everone to aline with the sun ready to warp. half the gang warped to the sun...LOLOLOLOLOLOLOL
i think next time around the only chance of sucess is to have a fleet largely composed of battle exsperianced players, with an exsisting command structure.

we were all very happy to participate..... i was however very annoyed with all the people who decided to bleet like babies after they lost ships. we were TOLD it was dangerous.... we had scouted and knew in advance the force of the serps basicaly if you warped to theout post and enganged the Serps, you had to appriciate there a good chance you whould lose yer ship.
i feel these bleeting people put a totaly downer on the event and gave Devalon a totaly un-acceptable ammount of grief in channel, cause they lose ships and mods.
may there be more events and soon.....

I joined the battle later on, after the initial force had been decimated. I tried to rally everyone again, but with only 13 ships (a couple of BS's) it was decided we'd never have a hope. So a tactical withdrawl was in order!
I agree, it really annoyed me when players tried to palm themselves off as losing a battleship when they hadn't, in an effort to get compensation from Devalon. They deserve a slapping. Kudos to Devalon for giving some talky-roleplay after the event. That was a really nice touch. And respects to the NPCs who were very well organised and stood their ground. I wonder what your personal chat channel must have looked like during the event?!
I managed to get some of the loot in the serps containers after they'd warped out (the event had ended) but Devalon understandably didn't want to reward me then! Does any DEV reckon I could get a bonus to my weapons research will a pile of unassembled energy weapons that I recovered?! -------------

I went there thoroughly expecting to go home in a pod!
I was in on two attacks without a problem and having great fun. Unfortunately when we were attacked while regrouping at the gate, the attacking BS landed almost on top of me. It hit me with drones so I pressed autopilot to head for the gate, released my own and hit the BS with a volley of heavy missiles about half a second before I got lagged out totally.
When I "woke up", I was in the next system, in a pod, being told I had been killed by the sentry guns. That bit I don't get in the slightest...
Ah well. It's not as if there's an EVE-wide shortage of Caracals. I'd just like to know why the sentry guns killed me for defending myself!!!
