Ah yes, I was wondering why it showed 92 ships destroyed in the last 24 hours in the Pain system

Or maybe ROME are just a bunch of people who are not above looting other people's property? -----------------------------------------------

Originally by: SEP Mystic It would be a shame for you and others to miss out on lots of opertunities because you lost this fight.
Oh, it's not that I/we "lost this fight".
Losses are always educational; victories too often lead to "victory disease" and unlearning of important lessons learned in previous defeats.
It's that the expected cost of participating was too high. I knew going in that I was quite likely to lose my ship: that's why I didn't take my most expensive ship. But I didn't realize until after the Event that I was also risking my clone. And if I'd had too low-quality a clone to support all my skill points, I would have been risking even more.
The problem for players is that they spend lots of their real-time doing boring Game-work to accumulate the resources they need to do fun-things and things that give feelings of accomplishment (which are not always the same things). In EVE, there's also the real-world-time cost of training up skills: I spent several months mining, to buy the skills I have now, and then another several months not playing at all, except to log on from time to time to launch the training of another Skill.
I'm not going to risk that investment again on a hastily thrown-together suicidal charge into the massed artillery and machine-guns. If I'd realized what I was risking, I'd not have risked that character even that one time.
But I'd observed a previous GFTL-Event from a safe distance from a Courier, and it had looked fun, so when the announcement came, I just jumped in without thinking through the possible consequences.
Now I also have some lower-value characters that I might be willing to risk. But I'll have to train them up a little -- still haven't calculated how much -- before they'll be able to make a contribution other than cannon-fodder to such a major-combat Event.

I liked the day before better, where i killed 90% of the serpintis npcs with the warp jamming frigs trapping them for me, and then when i proceeded to kill several people that were collecting my loot

We weren't the ones bringing top-of-the-line equiptment into a situation as grim as that. Maybe next time try some tactics other than big guns and more of them.
We sincerely thank all of you who participated. If you want some of your XL Cl-5s back check trade channel ----------------------------------- about:blank |

Most of you think that we are scum and stealing is wrong. Well it is'nt. It is just a way of life so get over it or we will show you Pirating

Yeah. Honestly. You all stole loot too just as much as we did. You can't blame it on just ROME. Cry someplace else please.

Nice to see all the ROME people whinging about people whinging...
Apparently I got killed for attacking someone called Mangold. Would said person please step forward and be recognised, so I can apologise to them - if they were on our side? If not, one of the gaps in my lag showed the "Serp" as being 99.99% dead, so eat Scourges, rat!
Amar.

But I never saw you attack me. Strange.
However, I did enjoy the event. Thanks Nebulai and the others.
