I just thought I'd share this with those of you who haven't caught the other thread showing our appreciation for the new wave of unholy rage against the parasitic scum that have infested EVE for so very long.
After the recent bannings for botting and RMT, The Nosy Gamer has been posting some of the tears from the little scum buckets using botting software and finding Sreeg and Stillman's team sending them packing with account bans.
Enjoy
Just for a little preview, I found this one particularly funny
Quote: godless: banned 2 accounts. 1 only macroing. I am switching to another game after 7 years playing it. This game is for ******* ccp's friends. I don't have a public IP so it's kinda weird they banned me 2 accounts.

BWAAA HAAA HAAAA!!!
From what I read, seems CCP has a few more to roundup. 20% of all accounts bot? Sounds kinda high, but what do I know? I know this, paying with botted PLEX isn't the same as the hit I get on a credit card once a month. So...how's CCP lose income like that? Did these guys take math? Anyone with any sense has already left town. |

Thing is I don't think they actually do enjoy it, not as a game, they just kid themselves they do. They aren't playing the game really, just earning ISK to pay for more accounts. I'm happy to see them whining. Roses are red. Bacon is also red. Poems are hard. Bacon. |

lol i love this one. Botting is over and now i have no gameplay?
Quote: rider23: I was botting 20hrs/day, on 4 accounts, all banned (+1 extra!) for 2 weeks. 2 remain. Now, without botting I have no other way to make isk and get plexes for all accounts even for my main. So there is no way to play for FREE. FREE? Hmm, seems that CCP have problems with their funding to support company, servers, etc.
**** them I say (sorry, but I had to say that) and I finally understood that I have no true need to play their game (or are they who play with us?),even though I have been with EVE since 1994...
So, I will let them eat my s**t, and on my 2 remaining unblocked accounts I have started the process to return all characters to the virtual biomass, where they virtually came from. Subscriptions already canceled.
It was one of the best games I've played but now I regret for the real money and the effort I have spent to this game. All the dedication I've given to this game could be a type of mental slavery. And I do believe that it is not worth investing money to any game unless we learn something from it. I have only learned a lot of useless crap for this game.

And while I support them, I didn't fall off the turnip truck last night. They looked the other way for 10 years and they did it with a purpose. Ban the bots but don't replace them with ATK, usefull idiots. That's what boring PvE offers a game. |

So is the gameplay of WoW, Guild Wars, and every MMO out there. All this means is that whenever the bots get persistent, we get persistent in killing them. Really? You can't station trade?
That would mean the only way to fix a negative wallet is by shooting bounties or something. In that case the account is as good as banned. It's practically useless. http://go-dl.eve-files.com/media/corp/Tobiaz/sig_complaints.gif

Working as intended, if someone is botting and ends up with a short term ban, negative wallet and a useless account then in my eyes it's all good, CCP and the general population don't want players who automate their gameplay, they ruin it for the people who are actually at their computer playing the game. War hasn't been fought this badly since Olaf the Hairy, High Chief of all the Vikings, accidentally ordered 80,000 battle helmets with the horns on the inside. |

This relying on stupidly boring grinding is what is making the whole MMO genre to slowly lose popularity.
I never liked Korean super grinders but even the Western MMOs can be quite bad at it.
Where's the feeling of "epicness" when all you do 90% of the time is farming boar intestines for some faceless NPC?
I mean, you read a Tolkien book (or a Sci Fi magazine to stay in theme) where you see those Shiny Stainless Heroes hopping from epic deed to epic deed. You get sold the epic MMO title and then all you get is "Apprentice Wooden Sword", some rags and go to kill boars which WILL give you the required experience to kill those badass level 9000 dragons later. thank you for pointing to the Noisy Gamer post it was enjoyable read I agree with several people: CCP needs to focus most of eve's recources on FIS, but the development of WIS still needs to continue, just as a slower and more efficient pace. In eve I wish to be more than just a machine. |

EDIT: And the reason for those trades: They had bought PLEX from CCP to get rid of negative wallet, but could not sell PLEX on market - so they wanted to station-trade the PLEX. New to EVE? Don't forget to read: The Manual * The Wiki * The Career Options * and everything else |

This!
I myself have been funding my 0.0 PvP life for quite a long time with buying plexes. I am terrible at eve PvE, beacause it really is boring as hell. Same problem with oh'so many other MMO's.
I also suck at PvP so much, I dont get my iskies from there.
I only wish, some day the PvE content of EVE would be so interesting, that I actually could be arsed to do it. At this time having 4 accounts and 7 characters bound to pvp is relly heavy for my RL wallet :p
And buying those plexes from CCP ofc. |

I mean the PVE in eve isn't THAT bad. It just has to be done in groups. Solo PVE is boring as hell but doing missions or incursions with a bunch of corp mates on comms is generally entertaining since it distracts you from the tedium of what your doing.

Good work to CCP.
The mentality of these guys would be classified as insane if it weren't the same old entitlement mentality that seems to be prevalent everywhere these days. Makes me wanna throw up all over their ugly faces hehehahahahhaha...
So what's up with only the 2 week ban... seems to me with as difficult as it appears to catch these losers the least would be a permanent ban for life... and If I could think of something more severe that would be legal, I would suggest that also.
CCP does know that when these turds come back and get their characters unscrewed they will simply go back to the same activity right?

Point has been made a thousand times in other threads. Two things to consider.
1) The fact that you have to grind is part what makes taking other peoples stuff so rewarding. If pve was the **** in this game, then who would really case about inflicting losses?
2) Most important, it wouldn't matter if the game had the most engaging awesome PvE in all of gaming history, people would bot it. Lots of reasons but the result would be the same. Look at every other multiplayer game on a pc, any FPS, RTS, MMO. They all having botting problems. Ppl like to cheat =P If you don't like it, you should go and ride your Emo high-horse all the way back to WoW.

Another thing to consider is that the big reason mining has such a poor isk/hour ratio is because of the botters.
To hear them saying the reason they have to bot is because of problems they themselves created is amusing, to say the least. |

I have noticed that simple modules, basic crap dropped by rats, actually have normal prices. Usually the only way to get ISK from them was to reprocess, like everything you try to sell is 1000 percent below regional average. Now a module that is worth say 20000 ISK actually sells for that give or take a few thousands.
All we need is a scarlet letter program to put the cherry on the cake.

Yeah, this may mean that some meta-4 stuff that we take for granted may be a luxury in the future, but you know what? That's okay. I'm totally cool with that.
Additionally, with bots removed from the game, I expect PLEX demand to drop somewhat. That is good for those of us who remember PLEX for 150m a piece, long ago... CCP Sreegs is my favorite developer. |

Most of that is because the lower-priced modules are being bought up and reprocessed into minerals. Especially modules which have a lot of Nocx/Zyd as the 50-75% jump in price in a short time put most of those sell orders below their reproc value.

I don't think it's about stimulation, the farther you go in game, the more useful you find focused characters. Just like real life, one character cannot be good at everything, at least not for many years. That depth is what keeps people playing long term. Not to mention, if you live in 0.0, alts are a requirement....Unless you like going to highsec and dying to the constant wardecs. And then listening to your corp/alliance and leadership tell you what a dumbass you are...
So, I guess if you ever leave highsec, you'll understand....

Perhaps the actual number of people might be 5%. But most botters I've seen or heard of don't limit themselves to one bot. They have 5 or 10, or 50. So you can take that 5%, which is probably low and multiple it by 10 accounts on average..... Looking to stamp out apiphobia in my lifetime..... |

Someone else once tried to explain that PLEX ingame is a liability to CCP. If they sell 20,000 PLEX in April and those plex all get used in May, they will see a monthly revenue decline for May because the April Plex got used much like a gift certificate. I'd laugh at 20% but CCP will lose active subs due to thier bot ban program. Active subs is a loss, no matter how they get paid. I won't be surprised if they lose 5% on all bot/ RMT and more is possible because Bots are Alts.
It will run much deeper in game if/ when they start hitting the renters alliances. Those alliances are charged rates that impose bot revenue from the systems. So not only will the renters be gone, the alliances that got the renters ISK will have thier faucets dry up. Fun times ahead in Null Sec. |

Is CCP losing some money in the process of banning accounts? Probably, yeah. I'm sure it's nowhere near 20% though. I think the main point in botting to begin with is to purchase PLEXes, which eliminates some of CCP's income anyway. In total, I bet it's costing them more in man-hours to employ Team Security than they're losing in lost subscription fees. |

Highlighted the appropriate point.
PLEX is a Zero Sum game as far as CCP is concerned. For every PLEX a botter buys to continue botting, a player forked over cash for. Whether or not they did a 2/4/6 PLEX doesn't matter, those are the buying options given to all subscribers. The only difference to CCP is the name of the person footing the bill for playing the game that month. CCP is losing no revenue due to the PLEX system, and IMHO is why PLEX is genius.
However, PLEXing is supposed to be a reward for players with the skills, time, or ingenuity to make enough fake money to pay another player ISK for their real world cash. I would love to have all the 'free' stuff too, but somehow working on enough ISK to buy that new T2 BS makes it all the more special, both to me and to the bastard who is going to blow it up. |

I would love to have all the 'free' stuff too, but somehow working on enough ISK to buy that new T2 BS makes it all the more special, both to me and to the bastard who is going to blow it up. You are of course correct, and I sheepishly apologize for my erroneous statement. Hadn't quite thought that all the way through I guess.
Thank you for the clarification. |
