Originally by: Shocky theres no reason to take on BS's in cruisers, seems a nice waste of my time to do that.
There is a reason, well i think so any well... for the sheer challenge of it! As Omega Man said - itĘs easy to kill an npc BS with a BS... the challenge is to do it in a smaller ship and not get killed...

Goals in EVE, kill a player battleship solo in a thorax. Have a blast, make my corps wallet grow and grow, have the biggest tech II component stock in game. Be the person with the highest Gallente federation standing in game. Have a blast. Get to fly a gallente battlecruiser. Build a spacestation. Help with balance testing and make this games combat system the best ever for a space based game without true space physics. Have a blast. ***** these forums ( doing quite well here ) Help people with setups ( and lots of people need it ). I could go on for days really.
Eve is what you make it. The new pirate dungeons, POS and lots of other things in Shiva will seriously improve on whats already there. Part of the problem you're having is the problem every MMORPG faces, Hardcore gamers ( and I am that ) get the best and the biggest way too fast, and as a result get bored, while casual gamers have plenty left to do. I took a one month break, and when I came back I fell in love with EVE again, I will not leave this game permanently until the servers close, and everytime I buy a single player game I stop playing it in a day. I miss the interaction, the players, the community and the awesome tools to have a blast CCP has given me. ~{When evil and strange get together anything is possible}~ A tool is only useless when you don't know how to use it. - ActiveX The grass is always greener on the other side. - JoCool |

Originally by: Shocky As title says there is nothing left in the game for me to do, I've done missions, mined in 0.0 space, chained BS's when it was allowed and killed countless NPC's. I have 3mil skillpoints and can't think of a single reason to conintue playing eve. pvp just does not interest me at all, mining is just boring and missions seem a complete waste of time oh and trading doesnt really seem possible or at least requires to much effort to find good routes.
At the start you have a reason to continue, save for a better ship, better equipment but when you have the isk to buy many bs's and insure them where do you go from there if your not interested in pvp combat? Game is just so empty it seems.
Well i was going to answer pvp x 3 but just saw pvp doesnt interest me...
Well my answer is : 1- try pvp anyway I mean its the blast of Eve for me, i can challenge real thinking pilots, thats the fun for me.
2- Well ...Wait for Shiva with its dungeouns?
Stars, stars like dust, all around me.... |

you know its very funny how many similar threads to this there are...
sure eve lacks and gets boring if ur just gonna take the easy road with everything and not take a single challenge...
I never left a frigate and i chained in a 0.1 quit a few times now your bored because you can sit in a bs and let the drones eat up a 0.1 spawn of pirates on there own?

Edited by: Fuujin on 04/07/2004 19:09:03 You don't want to work for pretend money which the game has a very strong market to play with. You don't want to help your corp or your friends. You don't want to fight in pretend wars when there's several big wars going around with a lot of politics, twists and suprises involved.
What the heck was it that got you interested in the game in the first place?

THis is what I got out of the post.
I dont like fighting, I dont like mining, I dont like building my own stations or outposts, I dont like trading because it is too hard, I dont like making things because its boring, I dont like missions because they are boring, Research does not interest me, and spaceships make me nauseous.
I just think you had a brief moment of despair. Try taking time away from Eve. And seriously ask yourself what was it that attratced you to eve in the first place? To me it seems just like not your niche.

It seems to me you don't want to do anything that involves "pretending". So I dunno why you even bother playing a MMO if everything is a waste of time.
Me personally, I collect ships. I have 34 so far.
I also like to Talk to people. And then blow them up. Or have them blow me up. Which ever, so long as my ship lasts longer than 5 seconds.
I hate to mine, but I do it anyway sometimes. When there's a good show on. (perk of having a comp in the bedroom.. you can AFK mine.. without being AFK!)
I'm not judging you or trying to be an ass. But if you don't want to help others. Don't want to pvp. Don't want to mine. Don't want to manufacture. Don't want to do anything the game has to offer. Then I'm sorry to say, I think it's time you find another game. Hopefully shiva will make you change your mind, but I don't see how. Afterall, it's just upgrades and patches for things you don't wanna do.
Maybe the "dungeons"?
----------------sig---------------------------- Dtai'kai'-dte sa-de nau'gkon dtain'aun bpi-de.
if you don't wake up, i'll have to stop kissing you. all that flailing has made you sleepy. you rest while i untie you. stay here until they find you. My hand made mannequin. i won't let them get you. they'll know you're mine by the fingerprints on your throat. isn't she lovely? isn't she wonderful? like the *****s that we are, swatting flies from the wounds we design. |

EverQuest players may disagree.
Content is what makes a game last years and years. PvP may/should be a part of that content - but cannot be all of it, not in a MMOG anyway.
