LOL, you guys! I'm sorry the PVP in eve is very lacking and ends up simply being setup vs setup and not so much about skill so I don't like it. Nuff said.
If you actually did pilot your own ships and target weapons manually I could understand PVP but you don't, you point and click and watch your ship fight.
Plus the game as a whole feels cheap, ships flying though stations and even when they do impact they suffer no damage. ThereÆs no docking sequence, battleships (ships) just disappear in these tiny stations. e.g. If a frigate rams a battleship the frigate should suffer serious damage but no its bounces off and results in the battleship doing summersaults.
Just a few things I dislike about EVE

Its your navigation system, it doesnt allow your ship to bump into anything.

I agree frigates making battleships changed course or they bump you just as hard as you bump them is broken. Wouuld I quit over that? no. Eve has a whole is a very very very good game. setup vs setup? well yeah that is what you would call your so called stradegy. And with fleet battles your setup is more and more important becuase you can have support ships. tankers, damage dealers, fast moving, warp jamming. webifying, long range, hsort range. mid range etc. THe possibilities are there for a well coordinated and strategic fleet to own people. Pvp is very much good in EVe. THe only thing that is obviously a problem right now is getting the changes going in tested and agreed upon. And then even more important is getting a stable client and reliable server setup. IM confident they will work out the server problems. And im confident Shiva will be pretty good and Kali will be even better. Experience will make them better at what they do and it will only get better not worse. It only takes doing a mistake once or twice to usually rectify it. And if you solve that problem you usually learn from it.

I have almost 12mill skill points and can only fly a Gallente BS level 1. Dominix.
There are so many roles to play in your ship in a battle, as a scout, as a hauler, as a trader. 3 mill heh you haven't seen diddlydoo of this game yet.
You're only as limited in Eve as your own imagination.
I'm not done. And i probably won't be done when the servers are switched off. Raindrop

If you think skill is using your joystick / mouse better than your oppenent then you should consider playing games like WC3 / CS, E-sports and stuff. A MMORPG will *never* be as well oiled as those games, as balanced. It's not multiplayer game, it's a MASSIVELY multiplayer game, that's a huge difference, you just can't achieve anything significant solo. You're talking like you did not even imagine you could interact with other players. Trade route ? If you want to be a trader there's certainly better thing to do than selling and buying from NPC. Dunno, maybe selling ammo, weapons and ships in 0.0 and mega in empire ? PvP + roleplay oriented = bound to not please to everyone, and that is good, trying to catter to everyone is the best way to make a boring game.

Hey, I thought that too, then I quit for eight months, came back, then realized I was a complete f*cking moron for thinking something so damned silly.
Bascially, you're an EVE-newbie (yes, you are) spoiled by other mmogs. Which have a tendancy to concentrate all of their efforts on the low level game. While the high level game maintains a permanent "back burner" position.
And its funny to see someone whos been playing for six months and only has three million skill points.

I enjoy tracking down safespots using the scanner.
Finding a ship that someone left out in space is always like a treasure hunt -- you never know what will be inside.
And, there's nothing quite like getting into your 1st abandoned battleship that was left running, keys in the ignition.
Other than that.. frig dogfighting with other players, especially ones that are actually skilled and can kill you, is great fun.

I have 3mil skillpoints and can't think of a single reason to conintue playing eve. pvp just does not interest me at all, mining is just boring and missions seem a complete waste of time oh and trading doesnt really seem possible or at least requires to much effort to find good routes.
At the start you have a reason to continue, save for a better ship, better equipment but when you have the isk to buy many bs's and insure them where do you go from there if your not interested in pvp combat? Game is just so empty it seems.
EVE is PVP.
Everything else is but a means to an end, that is to get ISK for ships and modules.
If you dont PVP you wont last in EVE.
Try PVP with good friends that can show you the robes and you wont leave EVE, ever. Spawn of the Devil
