ha ha ha.
love these threads.
seen them on every MMO I've touched for more than about a week, and pretty much always come out about the same.
it really is quite amusing.
I imagine it must be heartening for the devs and their accountants that a good portion of their player base defends their charging a certain amount... though really putting it that way sounds REALLY quite bizzare.
the idea of someone getting flamed for suggesting a product be cheaper, in any other context, would be laughable.
maybe the difference is that for the majority of those playing, even if they had to pay twice, or even 4x as much as they do now, it would be signifigantly cheaper per <time> than essentially ANY other technological entertainment.(ie: anything much above playing kick the can)
yes, CCP is making money on EVE. are they making the ooodle and oodles of raw profit like EQ, UO or Lineage? no. lol, but even if they are hiring support consultants to fix the crap thats giving problems now, they are STILL going to be coming out somewhat healthily ahead, overall.
even if it is a "labor of love" you don't really think the devs are living paycheck to paycheck, now do you?
$15 /30 = .50 cents a day for as much entertainment as you can spare the time for.
though I doubt I've added anything new, lol, can't hurt.

'Petrol'? What on earth is 'petrol'? Is that some fancy Euroslang for 'gas'?
Gas what on earth is gas? Is that some Hickslang for fuel?
No Gas=gasoline, fuel=diesel. Man some people need to learn their combustible liquids.

I think there are only a few games cheaper to play than Eve and offer the same kind of exciting changing environment:
The boardgame "OPERATION"
and
The childhood favorite "Dodge Traffic".
