Right way: start clean copy of new EVE Mentat, select "Import database" option and follow instructions. EVE Mentat - true trade tool |

is there a way i can get my order's price status type thing to clear before importing new market data from my cache?
atm what happens is i run the igb checker and mentat tells me i have to update so many prices etc.
then i run it again half hour later - and the tool tells me i need to update prices. the problem is that it is telling me stuff it already told me on the first run through - so now i have to go through and manually check eve price change to see if i need to make it or not.
is there a way to wipe the slate clean after i have changed all my prices? |

not sure if i understand what you want exactly, but you can force a clean scan by deleting the cache folder "cachedmethodcalls"
you will have to restart eve to do this, but when you rerun your IGB scan it will all be up-to-date info |

I have 4 traders in one corp in different regions all using corp-orders to trade.
I use the IGB feature to scan and download the market data and then cache import in the market browser tab of evementat and I see it confirming it imports the data.
But when I do this I don't get the "overriden" highlight in the "corporate orders" even though I check that there is one overriden.
Can't figure out what I am doing wrong?
Any help appreciated |

Agreed, this thing is great.
Quick Q, and apologies if I missed the answer in the old forum thread or this one - is there a way to import eve-central or marketeer data?

yes with this tool it is fantastic at managing your orders.
however for me it doesnt calculate profit well enough.
i use eve profit (a website) which takes the buys from my jita and character and the sells from my trading character and works out the profit from there.
these two tools put together really give you everything you will ever need as a trader =) |

Are you using the self cost option, to set the cost for each item? At which point it'll show you the profit (though tax is an issue. I can see that being /tricky/ to work out.) FuzzWork Enterprises http://www.fuzzwork.co.uk/ Blueprint calculator and other 'useful' utilities. |

I was wondering exactly the same thing as you can bring up exactly what you paid and what you received in transactions so I assume it would be relatively easy to do the maths including skills (and maybe standings?) to get exact profits for each unit |

Not entirely automatic. But you can right click on the price in the transaction list and set price from there. so 2 clicks per item. FuzzWork Enterprises http://www.fuzzwork.co.uk/

Problem with that is if you are in a highly competitive market, the price you pay can fluctuate by quite a lot so it taking that into account and taking the average of all bought and then the average of sold to give a total profit for an item

I think It would be helpful to add "Fixed order" flag/option to suppress "overbid" status for concrete orders till next update. I've added task. EVE Mentat - true trade tool |

Currently self costs in not automated but use can configure transactions filter to display only buy orders for some period, then select all (or some) transactions, right mouse click and select "Set multiple self costs...". This option will calculate weighed average self cost (from selection of course) for each type from selection. EVE Mentat - true trade tool |

I've investigated tax problem and have an idea how to implement it. So it's possible but requires time and inspiration.

Please read my previous post. It will save a lot of your time. Also take into account that that option sets weighted average costs. So you can easily manage your self costs even when good were bought from a few transactions with different prices. EVE Mentat - true trade tool |

Just for the record, I have EVE Mentat working on my Mac with wine.
I'm just running the default wine from Macports, with:
winetricks dotnet20 winetricks dotnet30 winetricks gdiplus
I think that's all you need, I may have run winetricks for a few other things in the past, but I don't think so.
Many thanks for this awesome tool and all the work you put into it.
Please tell me you aren't planning to go to .NET 4.0 any time soon.... |

As of today, it seems that EVE is not using a point (".") anymore for ammounts of isk cents but a coma (","). When I try to copy-paste the recommended price from Mentat to my orders, this fails. It looks like Mentat tries to paste a "." into the EVE client even though in Mentat itself the ammounts are shown with comma's.
This effectively renders Mentat useless for fast order updating.
Ps, posted this on the Mentat site also.
Edit: dunno if this is a change done on purpose by CCP but I expect a lot of bitching about it so would not be surprised if they turn it back :P |

And to prevent future problems on this subject. Maybe it's a good idea to have an option in Mentat on how it pastes decimals into the EVE client? |
