omg
Sorry guys Corp theft sucks bigtime..
One potential solution would be a volounteer lockdown of blueprints. Say.. you couldn't move them (but still do research and produce) from the hangar. And it would take some 24-48 hours to remove the lockdown. And it would be visible if a blueprint was in the process of being removed etc. That way you couldn't run away with it that easily.
Same could be used for mineral stashes
humdedum.. think I'll post in idea lab * -"You know, we play the "good guys" right? We kill pirates, griefers, retards and general subversive elements in the EVE-Community. To the rest, we are friendly and always prepared to help out. Peo |

Originally by: Saladin Lockdown wont be the solution. A ceo or director would be able to remove the lockdown and take the prints.
I'm assuming in this case, like in many others, the thief was a trusted member of the corp who had director access
Negative, read the page. Once a lockdown is in place it takes a corp vote to remove it. Not even CEOs can remove locked BPs without initiating a vote to remove the lock.

Well if it is one of the, or a group of Equilibria members, you really have to wonder what kind of a person the individual(s) are. I couldnt imagine anyone in the upper echelons of Everlasting Vendetta ripping off the corporation, but I guess there are cowards and cheats masqueraded as friends.
I hope this isnt the end, but unless there have been some big changes since I left two weeks ago, I fear the worst.
Taken from the May 29th 2003 Devchat at EveGate . <Muaddid> Q: When will sentry gun and station and similar construction pods be introduced on the market? <Hellmar> we have various player owned entities already implemented. Sentry guns, power/shield generators, field repair mini-stations, mobile refineries. We are still working out the last tidbits of how they can be over taken, what is the penalty of having a sentry gun kill a n00b etc. and we have been a bit busy with plugging the holes that people have found.I would say that you'd start to see these items on the market in about 2-3 weeks, very expensive to begin with |

To be honest, I have doubts is was a member of equalibria, They have problems with a few members of EV, but N'fran is a great reason NOT to pull that crap. As far as I know, all the ex falcon guys respect N'fran to much to pull that.
I am Jack's broken moral compass. I am Jack's STILL trapped in eve limbo. maybe not for much longer... |

Well, a sad day for all of us.
i left EV because of some personal dislikes. But i never wanted EV to break down.
As a member of equilibria i have to say that we dont condone such actions in any way. Its simple the worst you can do in a game.
I hope everybody who i ever played with knows that im a honest and trustworthy guy.
I do not post often on this boards, because i dont like the general attitude here, but this is something i cant ignore.
Darcon, i know you as good and dedicated player of this game, you are one of my trusted friends. But accusing my corporation in general, without stating names is something i have never thought you would be able to do.
To make it clear, equilibria in general has nothing to do with this theft and dont tolerate such actions in any way.
Everlasting Vendetta has our deepest compassion. We really hope that this dont break you down.
ALL of us were longterm members who left of several personal reasons. But we NEVER wanted to break you down.
This hurts us same as it hurts you, not in ISK for sure, but in trust towards each other.
We simply dont know who has done this act, and its more than sad that we most likely will never know.
All we know is that it must be a director during that timeshift. And those are in EV and in equilibria.
For my coming gametime, i really hope that is wasnt a member of us.

There ya go, we had official and very diplomatic, if I may say so, reply from our side. Now let's see an official response from EV so that we can carry on and stop with this bollox.

All the directors that left EV to join Equilibria were never involved in the research/production side of the corp and were not in the location of the theft at the time. ( I am currently getting the GM's to confirm my location at the time of the theft).
It easy to make us the scapegoat for this theft but the most likely perpetrators of the crime are still members of EV, and my personal suspect has a history of dishonest manipulative behaviour (you know who im talking about Omega corp).
CCP's decision to not give the name of the thief defies all logic; instead of the guilty person being named it creates a cloud of suspicion over innocent people and allows the low life to get away with it. It seems CCP condones theft, which ruins the game for hundreds of people fkin great job CCP.

Tamish,
Hate to say it brudda but theft is part of the game. We pirates learned that the hard way when F-E got ripped off to the tune of billions. Personally, I've never been a fan of communal property in this game since there is no way to guarantee it.
The worst thing about it Darcon is that in all likelihood the thief and his one or two buddies probably have cashed out on eBay - which is a real tragedy. Anyway sorry to hear about the theft but ****at happens when you have a war going that degrades everyone's morale!

Edited by: Vacuole on 12/07/2004 01:40:27 Glad to hear about the loss. Too bad EV might recover from it.
I was undocking from their station after reprocessing some crokite that was in the hold of an Iteron V of theirs that I found at one of their safespots and they had the nerve to pop me.
That darned re-dock bug helped in my demise, but still..
I guess the silver-lining to my little pathetic drama was that abandoned Apoc also at the safe spot... hehe
Thanks guys, please disband now.
